If you are looking for a doctor in Miami, look no further. Dr. Shaffer is without a doubt the best…read moregeneral doctor in all of Miami-Dade. I've been seeing her for three years and now that I'm leaving Miami, I'm kind of traumatized thinking about having to find a doctor as good as Dr. Shaffer again! Dr. Shaffer is associated with Baptist and you can communicate with her office using Baptist's online portal as well as see all of your exam summaries and lab results. She was covered under my United Healthcare Insurance, and luckily still in-network when I switched to Cigna. She shares the office with one or two other doctors who I believe are both "concierge doctors" so needless to say the office is beautiful and spotless. They can do EKGs and x-rays in office, as well as all of your blood work right then and there. I've seen her for everything from yearly physicals and strep throat to more complicated issues. She is so kind and intelligent. I have never once felt any bit uncomfortable or awkward when talking to her. Her office staff is wonderful too, particularly Courtney, and many times I've been able to get an appointment same day. Her office is located off of Lincoln Road, but there is a huge parking garage right next door with very reasonable rates. I think at most I have ever paid $8 and that was for a fairly long physical with labs, followed by a stop at Shake Shack across the street (because what else do you do after getting a physical?) As far as any negatives, the wait time can at times be a bit long, but since the service is so good I really don't mind. They're usually good about submitting prescription refills as well, I've only had to call them once or twice to follow-up on a refill. Her old assistant, Minerva I believe, used to be a bit scattered, but her new one Courtney is totally on top of everything.

I came to see one of the MDs in the group, Dr. Cindy Shaffer, a primary care physician affiliated with Baptist Health. I had pleasant interactions with the entire medical staff. Also, this office is enormous, modern and equipped with state of the art diagnostics like ultrasound, x-ray, and they even do EKG and lab testing in office which is a HUGE time saver. The phlebotomist drawing my labs did a great job. The only drawback is finding parking near lincoln rd. so give yourself extra time.

I underwent surgery performed by the renowned Dr. Vulcano, an outstanding physician whose expertise, dedication, and compassion inspire complete confidence. I placed my trust in his hands, and I am hopeful that, thanks to his remarkable work, I will make a full recovery from my fractures. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire hospital staff. From the doctors and nurses to every member of the support team, everyone treated me with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. During one of the most challenging moments of my life, I found not only medical excellence but also humanity and compassion. Five stars are simply not enough to rate the quality of care provided by this hospital. Mount Sinai deserves the highest recognition for its unwavering commitment to the health, well-being, and recovery of its patients. Thank you for giving me hope and for guiding me through this journey toward recovery. Highly recommended and deserving of the highest praise. Gremaf Reyes

Disgraceful. I am a…read morelong-term pain patient. They made me wait all month for my appointment and for me to come in, which is physically difficult to do on its own, to tell me they won't accept me as a patient. Now, days before my prescription expires, I have to scramble back to my referring doctor to renew my prescription. All the nurse practitioner offered me is suboxone for when I will inevitably go through withdrawal due to their carelessness. My previous pain management doctor has been transitioning all of his opiate clients out of his practice and referred me specifically to Dr. Kamlet because this is his speciality. I assumed there would be little issue. It's a real slap in the face, on top of already having come in last month to receive ketamine treatment for my back-pain and being turned away due to their practice not using ketamine to treat back-pain, which I explicitly explained to the receptionist that I would come in for over the phone. Traversing the ever-changing field of medical care regarding opioid pain medication is hard enough and painful enough without falling victim to this kind of careless and abusive mismanagement.

We missed a small payment and then 7 months after the procedure received a rather nasty letter demanding immediate payment or our relationship with the Doctor would be terminated. There was no doctors name or any name on the notice and there was no phone number to contact them. There was no link to pay online. It took 5 calls to eventually speak to a person who only wanted get my payment. They said the only way they communicated with patients was by regular mail. They couldn't even email me a receipt. I was not given time to properly consider or consent. His reason was that he preferred the projection. I was very clear from the start that I wanted a smaller, natural result. Because of this last-minute change the outcome is the opposite of what I agreed to. The implants are overly projected and firm, with very visible scarring and noticeable veins due to how tight they are. At a follow-up appointment, the surgeon raised his voice when I shared my concerns. The office offered a refund at that visit, but later said it would only be issued if I signed a non-disclosure agreement. I declined the NDA and still have not received the refund months later. UPDATE: I've been dealing with this back and forth for months. I finally agreed to sign the NDA their attorney had been pushing in order to receive my refund and move on privately, but never received a response. I stand by everything I shared.

More troubling, I was told by staff that problems with the doctor's answering service and scheduling have apparently been known for some time. That raises a rather obvious question: if a medical practice cannot reliably manage something as elementary as scheduling a consultation, on what basis should a patient place confidence in its ability to manage something as consequential as a colonoscopy? Competence inspires confidence. Disorganization destroys it. When the first encounter with a medical practice is this dysfunctional and the dysfunction is apparently already known it does little to suggest that precision, oversight, and attention to detail are priorities. Needless to say, I will be placing my health in more capable hands.
