I've been having back pain and thanks to COVID-19 I went 3 months with out getting adjusted and the pain got worse! I knew I needed to find a doctor who could provide a more in depth treatment than what I was experiencing before the lockdown. Dr. Kabel is exactly what I was looking for. During my initial exam, he did xrays and found exactly what was causing my issues, he recommended how often I needed to come to get relief and I've been listening and after only 3 adjustments I feel remarkably better already. I still have progress to make but after my first adjustment I almost cried tears of joy because I could finally breathe again, and I was able to sleep comfortably. I will be continuing my routine wellness care with Dr. Kabel, what I like too is everything is pretty quick, doesn't take up much of your day! Dr. Kabel is a miracle worker! I have suffered from chronic shoulder pain for over 10 years - I could never even sleep on the left side of my body. I've tried massage and physical therapy, nothing could fix it. Dr. Kabel took full body x-rays and was able to determine the issue was actually stemming from my pelvis, and my body has been over-compensating for years, manifesting as pain in my shoulder. Pain sucks!! I've been to Dr. Kabel for 2 specific reasons now. One was because I started to lose peripheral vision and would get a migraine immediately after. I saw Dr. Kabel and he explained the reason I was having eye issues and getting migraines was because of the compression on the right side of my neck. After 3 adjustments, the weird vision and migraine disappeared completely. The second reason I went in to see Dr. Kabel was because I tweaked my lower back. All I did was throw my swim googles on my gym bag and my lower back was suddenly in pain. Luckily Dr. Kabel was able to adjust me and tell me my hip was a bit thrown off because my right back muscle was so tight. Dr. Kabel is such an awesome, nice, caring guy and is super knowledgeable about what he does. I cannot begin to express how happy I am I found him. I have been going to Dr. Kabel for over 5 years now, and have received nothing but a professional, and family-friendly atmosphere every time I go in for an adjustment. I love that the entire family can get adjusted all together and that he has taken his time to get to know and create a great working relationship with all of us, but especially my youngest daughter (who takes a while to talk with anyone!). Now when she takes a spill at school or falls down at home the first thing she cries out is, "Take me to Dr. Kabel's!" I have never rated any business on Yelp, ever; however, this business warrants a rating. I was adjusted by "Doctor" Kabel one time, this Christmas eve because my neck was tweaked from a workout I did about 5 days earlier. He did his thing and I walked out of there not feeling any better or worse. That same night, I stretched in my sleep, and it felt like a guitar string snapped in my neck. The pain was tremendous. Woke up the next morning, Christmas Day, and could not lift my head off the pillow. At all. I laid there for an hour or two, awake, unable to lift my head even enough to slide ice underneath. I have never felt pain like that in my life. Finally choked down enough Aleve and Ibuprofen (try swallowing pills while laying flat on your back) to gingerly stand up, get dressed, ice my neck, and make it to Urgent Care where the Doctor (no quotes necessary) prescribed some muscle relaxers and pain killers. I spent the rest of Christmas Day sitting on the couch trying not to move - awesome. The following week the range of motion in my neck was about 10%. Sleeping was painful, coughing was painful, getting dressed hurt like hell. Now to the point: I called "Doctor" James Kabel's office and left a message explaining my situation. Never heard back from him. One of the receptionists called back and said I should come in for another adjustment. A few days later, I called again leaving another message explaining how the situation had only marginally improved with the help of the painkillers and muscle relaxers and never heard back from Jim or his receptionists. I'm not so much angered that he ruined my Christmas and put me in pain for the following week - I don't believe he intended to. It upsets me that he didn't seem to give a shit that it happened. Zero percent care. From his website: "Our mission at Kabel Chiropractic is to provide the highest quality chiropractic care to people of all ages. We strive to not only correct a person's health problems, but to educate..." In my estimation, he could not have provided a lower quality of care if he tried. This was rock bottom. Jimmy Kabel's credentials from his website: He did his undergraduate schooling (no school specified) in Texas (no graduation, degree, or major specified). Then he went to "graduate school" at Life Chiropractic College West. Admission requirements for Life Chiropractic College West from its website: "Chiropractic degree applicants must have at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate study leading toward a bachelor's degree." You don't even have to GRADUATE from undergrad to attend Life College - who knows if Jimbo even has an undergraduate degree. In summation, I have spent way too much time out of my day on this. Hopefully, however, it will shed some light on Jimbo's practice to prospective clients. One look at his website should have warned me. Any practitioner of "medicine" who is offering coupons and discounts for business is a red flag. Go in there at your own risk, and be cognizant of his fast talking salesman-like disposition.
