While Matt was outside, one of his trainers was inside his office explaining to us what was going on between Matt and our dog.

By day 3 she was waking me excited to go back and see Julia. Training is consistent and discipline. Stella and Julia excelled. Me and my wife were tuffer to train and do our homework. Even with our incompetent training at home Julia got her goal accomplished as she stated. It's up to me and my wife now to keep Stella on task. I'm limited with my time this time of year but I've been able to get out with Stella a few times now and she retained her knowledge when I follow Julia's clear and concise directions she prints out for you. Her process is easy if you apply it. I'm impressed with her knowledge, professionalism and understanding of some people's time constraints. She fulfilled her duties even though me and my wife didn't as much. We highly recommend her and will be continuing our use of her abilities for further training in the future. Side note we used another trainer. I won't mention any names but he SUCKED! Julia's on point! Thank you Julia from Prudence and I.

The injury to my 8 year old boy was very mild and did not break skin because the dog stopped his attack without intervention. This was the first time the dog had ever attacked anyone in the family. We sought out Julia Langley/McCarty at Island Canine Academy for training. She was aware of the attack and that we have 3 young children and guaranteed she could help us. She said her services were guaranteed or we would not have felt comfortable paying the huge amount of $2000 for 2 weeks of dog training. The dog was at Julia's facility from 1/10/25 to 1/24/2025. The dog did learn the commands as Julia had stated. However, on the morning of 2/6/2025, the dog mauled my 6 year old girl triggered snacks the 4 year old girl had brought. My husband was in the room and screamed the dog's name to get his attention. The dog ignored him and mauled my 6 year old girl until my husband could get to the dog. My 6 year old girl required stitches in the ED. We called animal control who told us the dog needed a 10 day quarantine and had no resources. My husband called Julia who offered no assistance. would not offer to board dog for quarantine. We paid $800 to board him at an animal hospital who carried out the euthanasia. I requested a 50% off refund from Julia due to the fact her training was guaranteed and we experienced an even worse attack after her training. Julia says the dog learned his commands so her training was successful. How can she say her training was successful when the dog had mauled my daughter only two weeks after training and we had been using the commands? She is now threatening to sue me because I told her I would file a BBB complaint and write truthful reviews on her business since she would not do a half refund.

That is, until we met Nick. He was absolutely incredible with Sadie and changed both Sadie's and our lives for the better. Within a few minutes he recognized her lack of confidence. After a few short weeks we went to pick up our girl and the change in her was amazing! She now has more confidence and is less anxious, her barking has subsided, she has great recall and we now walk together with loose leash heel. During her stay with Nick, he would send daily pictures, videos and updates keeping us connected to her and their progress together. If you are considering training for your dog, stop thinking and do it, you would be in excellent hands with Nick. He treats your dog like family! We mare beyond thrilled with our experience with Nick and New England dog training Company.

He is excited every time I pull into the driveway and he comes home tired. Bill also comes to the house for dog training. I find his advice very helpful. After only a few short weeks, he is more behaved and has not chewed on the furniture (fingers crossed). We continue to work on social interactions with humans, as our dog lives to greet everyone.

I signed up for a group class and upon arrival of the first class I was told I was the only participant registered. No class was prepared and it turned out to be a waste of time. They offered to bump me over to a different class that had a few people signed up. It was described as a class for dogs with their basic commands down but needing practice on keeping focused. To say the class was dysfunctional is an understatement. There were two extremely reactive dogs that barked intensely through the entire class, and a third dog being kept in a crate a few feet behind me, who also barked the entire class. The dog next to us was consistently lunging and barking at my 1 year old pup, which of course was making her very scared. I voiced my concerns within the first few minutes, and was told the dogs would settle down once class began. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The instructor was unable to speak for long periods because of the level of noise from the barking dogs, I had to take multiple breaks as my puppy was getting very nervous (really the exact opposite of what you would hope for in a group class experience that should be geared towards building confidence, not fear). We stuck it out for the entire class, which ended up being only 3 five minute exercises. My dog could not have been more ready to get out of there. After that experience, I emailed the owner of the business, Karen McCarthy. I expressed my concerns and disappointment with the two failed classes. Her response was pretty bizarre and extremely defensive. After a few back and forth emails, I decided this was just not a good fit and asked to be refunded, since they did not deliver anything close to what I had been told I was paying for. She has since stopped responding to my emails and cannot be reached by the phone either, it is definitely the most negative and bizarre situation I've ever experienced. Do not waste your time and money here!
