I took my 17 yr old granddaughter there yesterday for massages. It was at 3pm. We were the only…read moreones there. It was quiet n peaceful. The language barrier is a bit of a problem, but you must speak up if it is too strong or you want it stronger. But the 2 men working on us knew what they were doing. We both enjoyed it. Wear something you don't mind getting a bit oily n which is easy to move up or down. You have a choice of how much time is spent on various parts of your body. I did try the hot rocks which were very hot, but I did get used to them. I prob won't do that again. It was $10 extra. Luckily, the cranky old man wasn't there, so I didn't have to argue about the tip, but I was generous. We will go again.

I agree a minimum mandatory tip is odd (except for large parties at restaurants) but so is tipping on a pick up food service. This is a service, in the US, tipping is normal. The sign is up because some people don't tip and not because they weren't satisfied, they just don't feel it necessary. These service people rely on tips and they work hard. They have one full body massage service. They don't really deviate. Because of a language barrier, it's on the customer to speak up and tell their person what kind of pressure they would like. They could use a little updating and the man who runs the place doesn't have the friendliest face, but he is really nice. Overall, I always feel better when I leave there! You really can't go many places and get a massage service as good as they provide for what they charge.

The best service is when your feet soak while they focus on your head, shoulders and arms... and then work on the feet and legs. I would like to try the scalp treatment with some focus on my neck.

I've been watching videos so every spa is going to do something different. My experience was awesome - if you like a really good shampoo massage when you get your hair done this is for you. I was wearing a blindfold so I really couldn't see what she was doing but it was three different products massaged into your hair and scalp, and then rinsed with this sprinkler type contraption that rinsed your hair. She also did a shoulder/neck/massage which was nice. They did not do a scalp analysis with the fancy machine like I've seen in some videos. When I thought it was over she told me to sit up and she then got on the table behind me and proceeded to massage my back and stretch me like a human pretzel. It felt incredible. Wasn't expecting that but loved it. Aesthetically this was basic decor -you are in a room with all the tables - each area has a curtain but it's pretty sheer. Also they will give you a towel wrap to wear as your top half will be wet. When I asked her what she used, she showed me bottles which were in Chinese One did say masque so I'm guessing that was last step. They have a small changing room with a small vanity for you to blowdry your own hair but I ended up going home and drying it myself. My technician was Linda. She was amazing - especially if you like a deeper massage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her. She will ask your preference and I told her the deep pressure was great. I've already told many friends about this gem! I'll definitely be back. I didn't do the steam one but will try that next time.

A few months ago I moved back to my native town and, like I used to when I lived here before, I…read morestarted to shop at the natural foods store again. I was excited to support a local small business, and even though their prices are a bit higher than other big box stores like Whole Foods who is now owned by amazon, I was willing to budget that in for the sake of keeping my shopping local. Plus when you factor in gas expense to cruise up to Orland, it just made sense. However I'm sad to report that over the last 4 months or so I've had some negative experiences with this store, despite their winning attributes. First, there were 3 separate occasions where I asked about specific items they did not have currently available, and asked if I might place a special order through them as to support their business (instead of going through somewhere like AMAZON, eye roll) Unfortunately, on all 3 occasions they took my contact info and told me they'd be in touch, but only ONCE did they ever actually follow up with me and it was literally months later... so do you think I called them back? NO! They clearly did not want my business. Mind you this was for animal food, an ongoing expense that I'd much rather pay a local merchant for rather than ordering online. Month or so later I have another more significant negative experience with their cloth face masks. These are so cute and it's amazing to be able to purchase one made by a real person local to the region. I was so jazzed. Unfortunately these masks were not labeled by size, had no distinguishing pile or anything, leaving me to logically assume they were one size fits all. Long story short I ended up with 3 out of 5 that I purchased that are kids sized. With no kids I have no use for these. I asked to have an exchange and they said because of the virus they could not accept that. I asked if they could at least credit me the $15 expense since that's how much I was out and the manager said no. Continuing along with what happened, the manager told me she didn't appreciate my "threats" or how I was talking about the business and told me I was being disrespectful. In reality, I never raised my voice, used fowl language, nor distributed a single threat. What I DID say up until that point was that I did not feel like they appreciated or valued my business because of this and the past 3 attempts to order specialty items through them and that if this is the kind of customer service they deliver then I'm going to have no other choice than to take my business elsewhere. And she responded like THAT! How much more disrespectful and non responsive could SHE be? So I found myself being verbally attacked by a member of management for bringing very real, every day customer service concerns to their attention in a respectful way. How dare I?! It's clear this store cannot take constructive criticism nor do they value their customers. I truly do not appreciate the tone I was met with. Moreover, the conversation finally resulted in her saying she'd credit me the $15 but it was only because she was being forced to in order to make me happy and it would be the last $15 I spent with them.... (I'm serious that actually happened.) I NEVER was disrespectful to this woman, I just told it like it was and in a level tone. I don't believe in screaming at customer service representatives... After she said that she quickly back pedaled and said "after that if you choose to continue doing business with us that's up to you" Overall I'm extremely disappointed at the LACK of customer service I've experienced over the last few months at this store, not to mention the judgey, prissy manner some people who work for this business seem to portray to those who might look and talk differently than them. I feel completely undervalued by this business as a whole and I will not even take my $15 credit there. They don't deserve any more money from me. As unfortunate as it is, I'd rather take my money to the box stores at this point... if you know me, that's a pretty intense and out of character statement. I hope for the store's sake that they learn to improve their customer service and build long term loyalty... As I tried explaining to the manager, that's how small businesses survive. With how I've been treated and dismissed on repeated occasions over the last few months, however, I'm not so sure they will... too bad, even though their selection is kind of small and lacking with certain things, they had potential in my book. After this outright disrespect? Not anymore. Never. Again.
