Showed up on a random Wednesday evening around 10PM with my group of friends after dance class. Colorful dim lights with neon signs did remind me of the pocha vibe. I would give the staff a 6/5 stars as they were super nice and courteous with us taking a long time to order. We ordered the budae jigae, fried gyoza, and the half and half fried chicken. Everything was made fresh and I was pleasantly surprised at all the sides that came with the meals. The jigae had all the ingredients you'd expect like spam, hot dog, tofu, rice cake, and green onion. I appreciated how it wasn't too spicy. None of the dishes were. The fried chicken was a light on the batter and was not glistening with grease like some fried chicken. I would recommend the garlic soy next time as the sweet and spicy was a bit bland. Lastly, the gyoza came with a fun spicy apple cabbage slaw. This was something new I'd never had so I was excited to try it! The waiter was so nice and even provided "service" (free item) of their new honey butter fries that she said was her favorite. It tasted exactly like the honey butter chips from the store. I would be back just based on the service and kindness of the staff.
K-Pocha GOOD - food, fun atmosphere and very friendly service BAD: Not too much, the amosphere was unexpected, but not necessarily bad. The prices are a bit high for mainly different variations of fried chicken, but portions make it easier to swallow. K-Pocha is nestled in a shopping center I would affectionately coin "Asian Row." Aside from K-Pocha, there is another Korean restaurant, Vietnamese, Thai and a large Korean grocery store. I ordered fried dumplings to start, which were crispy and delicious, but it was the unique mini sides of kimchi, pickled veggies, glazed soy beans and spinach with cheese that took it to the next level (make sure you get the free side). I ordered the bbq chicken with cheese. This ate like a spicy chicken parm only it wasn't fried. I thought it would be, but still good. When I walked in, the lightning was dark with somewhat loud "club" music. Not typically my scene, but it grew on me as the night wore on. K-Pocha reminds me of an attempt to merge a traditional sit down Asain restaurant, with a cluby vibe - a strange but interesting combo. They aired pro golf in combination with Korean pop/rap music videos on another TV. It was different but a fun mix. You will spend roughly 35+per person. It's on the high side for chicken dishes, but portions and quality are very good. Definitely try it and keep an open mind on the atmosphere. It grew on me for sure.
My favorite and best Korean fried chicken place in town!! This place brings so much nostalgic memories. It's small and could get little loud on weekends but mostly, it's cozy beer bar. Not only they have the best chicken and beer, most of their food is amazingly good. You gotta try all their dish. Service is always good at this place!!
K Pocha is one of my favorite late-night food spots. The ambiance gives a hole in the vibe where you can catch up with friends over drinks and late-night bites. They also offer private karaoke rooms as well. Service has been good every time I dine in.
We were actually heading to try Viet Pearl at 8:30 on a Sunday evening but turned out it was closed. Saw that K Pocha was next door and had solid reviews. Very unassuming from the outside sitting in a strip mall next to Lotte grocery. Inside has a nice asian pub feel, with k pop playing on the multiple lcd screens. Greeted by friendly staff and was attentive to our needs. We shared 3 dishes: *Brisket w/ green onion "salad." -- my favorite. *Spicy, cheesy seafood tteokbokki. -- liked by all. *Kimchi stew w/ rice cakes. --family favorite Portions are generous and seasoned very well. Prices are reasonable too. Did I mention you can hit this place up until midnight on most nights and 1am Friday and Saturday, Closed Tuesdays Would love to come back and try the various chicken offerings and grab a beer/soju with a bunch of friends/family. We'll be back!
Very nice restaurant. There is a karaoke bar in the back that I did not visit but want to sometime in the future. The food came out very fast. The egg drop noodles were nice, a little spicy but nothing much, and was delicious, definitely worth the price. Prices were quite low. Fried Chicken was alright. Not bad, but if you are looking for good chicken, there are some other places in the area that might be more of what you are looking for. Service was friendly and homely. TDLR: worth the price, food is very decent and very rapid, nice homely location, fun little location.
Went late night after a concert. This place was opened and we wanted to try something new. We weren't sure what to order but hot damn , we killed that seafood Ddukbokki. The flavor was so good. Just the right amount of spice and so much cheese. It was packed with seafood too! Unfortunately, we ate the whole thing before getting to the chicken, so we were full. The sauce was good, but the chicken was a little dry. The place is more of a late night/bar atmosphere. They have karaoke rooms which we didn't use, but from the main area you can hear some ... enthusiastic patrons.
Continuing with the New Year's binge eating, I was craving Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki (rice cake) with cheese. Thanks YouTube. So after a few minutes of yelping, decided to check out this place in Columbia, MD. This is a quaint little restaurant that serves up good bar food. I was being lazy tonight, so I ordered the boneless soy garlic chicken bites and seafood tteokbokki dish. I really liked the bite sized chicken. Though it was white meat, the dish is still juicy snd very much crunchy and flavorful. Breading was kept at a minimum, therefore every bite was more chicken! On to the tteokbokki dish. As I'm not an expert at what is good or traditional tteokbokki, I can only tell you I really enjoyed this dish! The ingredients consisted of muscles, octopus, and fish cakes. It was like eating the selective sea mixed with chewy rice cakes (love chewy!), stringy melted mozzarella, and a sweet spicy red sauce. It's my trinity of flavor town (savory, sweet, and spicy). Staff were friendly and wore mask and gloves. This is a nice little uppity place for a handful of friends to chat and eat. Nomz. Till next we eat, be safe and healthy fams!
Service: Very attentive - got seated on a busy Friday night as soon as we stepped in. Nice that they have bells at each table you can press to alert service staff whenever you need. Food: Nice selection of banchan (oyster kimchi, sweet peanuts, and pickled jalapeños). The fried chicken was okay - lots of sauce with thicker batter. Kimchi stew small size . Generous portion size - the chicken platter plus small kimchi stew was more than enough for two people with leftovers for another meal. Overall, a fun hype ambiance to grab fried chicken and beer. Will have to try out the karaoke suites in the back next time!
Seafood Tteokbokki is a must here but everything else I think other pocha can do better like the fried chicken and Budae jjigae. The fried rice cakes came out almost cold and I was really taken aback by that. In addition the chicken was not that juicy so maybe they didn't brine as long as other places. Finally the Budae jjigae was missing some core components like American cheese and beans. Although it's a fish you can just add any leftovers to this was missing the key flavors. The seafood tteokbokki is perfect the rice cakes are cooked well and there is no shortage of seafood either.
This place feels so hip and casual! I love the atmosphere! Came here for a date and there's good music/decent volume that it just gets you in a happy mood. The chicken was really good. We got the half fried chicken, half soy garlic chicken and I appreciated that the soy garlic chicken actually had a lot of marinade on it rather than small dollops here and there. Also who doesn't like fried chicken and beer? Oh, the beer came in a pitcher which was of course just awesome to have that supply of beer right there ready for you. They say the chicken is for two people, but man I was stuffed eating a couple because they were big and plus the beer. Highly recommend if you're coming to look for a casual but nice environment to hang out! Also, the place is so cute because they have karaoke in the back of the restaurant! Honestly thought that was really cool to have that there and didn't even expect to see it! Would highly recommend coming and giving this place a try!
I enjoy a good Korean bar. I want to thank the staff for the accommodation just prior to the World Cup match between Korea and Mexico. I was able to get seated and served rather swiftly. The food was good. This wasn't my favorite corn cheese as cheese used didn't taste as fresh. Not sure if that was on purpose or lack of quality control. Now I didn't go here for corn cheese. The fried chicken was what lured me in from the parking lot. The chicken was piping hit, crispy, juicy, and delicious. Personally I would prefer a bit more seasoning for the plain half. The sauce half was just right. The bulgogi soup was also good and a first time try. This would actually be perfect after a day of drinking. Now this is a bar and feels like a bar so no need to get fancy here. As a bonus there are rooms for the karaoke nights. For quick Korean Bar food this is your stop. K Pocha has new management now, so we stopped by to try their food and karaoke room. The karaoke room is spacious and has big family style tables so you can dine + sing. I really enjoyed the spicy stir fried intestine and the fried chicken with sweet garlic soy. I recently revisited K Pocha and was blown away by how much this spot has transformed under new management! The food tastes better than ever and I discovered something that made my night out with friends even more memorable... I had no idea they ever offered private karaoke rooms! It truly feels like this spot has been given a fresh start and the difference in both food and overall vibe is amazing. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you're instantly transported to a classic pocha in Korea with bright, colorful LED signs and comfortable booth and table seating. For dinner, we ordered 4 entrees to share (ranging between $20-30) and a side of honey butter fries. Fun fact, K Pocha imports the honey butter powder directly from Korea and those fries were SO deliciously addicting and crispy. Definitely a must try item that I'll be getting repeatedly! My favorite dishes of the night were the spicy rice cakes and half/half fried chicken. The chicken was super crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. The spicy rice cakes?! These were actually the best I've had, their sauce tastes different than any other Korean spot I've been to. It had such a unique depth of flavor that I absolutely loved! The private karaoke rooms elevated my experience. They're nice and cozy and I was impressed by the sound system. The music is loud and clear and my friends had a blast! We also had such kind service and were able to get our food nearly right away and delivered directly into the karaoke room! It was awesome! Conveniently located beside the Korean market for a good late night bite after grocery shopping (they're open late til 1:30am) in contrast to the other surrounding places that close at 10. The food was good but I can't say that there were any standout dishes that would make me say "wow, I've got to come back here again." We ordered half and half chicken, seafood hot pot and fried squid. It seems a lot of the dishes used similar seasonings/ingredients. The decor is intimate and cozy and very clean. Bathrooms are great! Customer service is 5/5 quick efficient informative and really mindful of us even in an establishment full of people. There's also a convenient button to press if you need to call someone over to you. read more

We been thinking about this place for a while now and finally decided to give it a try. They used to have their menu outside so the Mussel and Dough flake Soup attracted my attention. The restaurant definitely has a korean bar feel to to it. There was nothing to complain about in terms if customer service, they were great. My 3 star review goes to the Mussel and Dough flake Soup because it was definitely nothing exceptional. This was something that was okay and I probably would not order again. The dish comes out with what looks like a large baking pan on a portable stove. The pot consists of a wide variety of veggies, some clams, mussels, and fish cakes. The broth was red and reminded me of jjamppong. However, there were minimal flavors coming from this dish. From the veggies all the way to the seafood, it was lacking in taste and flavor. It was as if they took the ingredients and boiled it in water and then added the red soup. We were also surprises that this dish did not come with rice. Not a lot of veggie or dough flakes. The waitress said it can feed 3 ppl. Even though the dish seemed big, its really not a lot. my girlfriend and I were still hungry which leads us to talk about the cheese fries. The cheese fries were delicious. It was basically covered in melted cheese and bacon bites. The portion itself was satisfying for an appetizer. This cheese fries were definitely worth reordering because of how tasty it was. The overall experience was really a 3.5/5 but I could only rate a 3 or 4. The cheese fries definitely made the experience better. We will most likely not return to order the Mussel and Dough flake Soup again. read more

We decided to check this place out..... meh. The spicy/sweet chicken was meh. The spicy soy garlic was also meh. It didn't taste that great. Definitely prefer bonchon over this place. We also ordered the spicy rice cakes -- this was good. It comes with some seafood (mussels, octopus & shrimp). The cheese fries were good. The pink daikon cubes was good. There was hair in the cabbage slaw. They apologized and brought us fresh ones. Didn't offer to comp an item. They bring you a bowl of stale popcorn while you wait for the food to come out. Probably cooked this morning. STALE. The other reviewer was right. They don't offer you water or anything. You have to ask because hey just walk away after handing you the menu & mentioning that there is a buzzer when you're ready to order. Service - 1. There is a bell for you to ring for them to come. They don't come over to refill your water or anything.... I feel like although there is a bell for service, you should still just take a walk and check on the tables instead of just chatting with each other laughing and socializing. Food - 2.5 read more

We stopped by this place on our way to eastern shore since it was only few places still open around 10:30 PM. The place is small since the back karaoke rooms takes up half of the establishment. There is a bell button on the table to call your wait staff which is always nice. Now on to the food. We weren't expecting much but the food was really good. We didn't get the fried chicken (Bon Chon is near by) but ordered few finger foods along with noodles. The prices are little on the higher side than average but you can drink, eat and sing all at the same place. I'm sure we will be stopping in again when we are in the area late. read more
Ever since my trip to Korea this summer, ive been hunting for a good chicken place. And this place was fairly new (8months), so why not? 4 stars for food 2.5 stars for service = overall 3 stars It's a little common in Korean places to have a different kind of service for some reason, but when we walked in and was shown to our table, the waiter didn't offer us water until we asked after we ordered. However, when we asked if we can have rice cake added to our chicken they said yes, which we were happy about. Food came, onion rings and boneless chicken sweet and spicy sauce with rice cakes. The chicken was great. I liked the taste and sauce was good. The portion is kind of small though compared to other chicken places around here for the price. Onion rings were good also. However, we weren't offered any water again throughout our dining experience even though both of us were out of water. You kind of have to ask for everything, which is how this restaurant runs I guess. So if that's your feel, go ahead. Food was good so I probably will return to try other dishes but hope to see them improve on their service! read more

Let me be honest. This is not my regular spot. My friend and I decided to come here because the other korean bars on route 40 were packed. This is one of the few korean bars that has beer on tap. But the rest of the drink options were less than the other korean bars. We ordered bbq boneless chicken covered in cheese and takoyaki. I did not enjoy the takoyaki at all. The pieces of octopus where tiny in the little takoyaki and it felt so heavy and greasy. The chicken was actually good but it had more veggies in it than actual chicken. I wasn't impressed. But that's the reason why this isn't my regular place. read more

I ordered the boneless garlic chicken but it came out dark and looked nothing like the picture in the menu. I think they may have mistakenly brought out the soy garlic? But I didn't inquire since I couldn't taste any soy sauce; it just was very dark. The prices are over priced and only worth it if you are looking to have chicken with alcohol as this place is like a pub setting. The food is just passable so it's only worth visiting if this sort of Korean pub-like atmosphere is what you're seeking. read more
