Heart Magazine is a free publication in the Las Cruces/El Paso areas. It's so well presented that I…read morefeel bad grabbing a complimentary copy...it feels like stealing. This magazine is only published 3 times/year so it's a hot find once a new issue is released. Heart praises women in the community, it provides resources for parenting, health, beauty, dating, careers, etc. It's about positive self improvement. After reading their articles, Heart doesn't make me feel self conscious about who I am or make me feel that I need material items to make me feel better about myself (unlike the goal of a lot of women's magazines out there). It's a great motivator. Since I'm a graphic designer, I have to note that the graphic design is exceptional...not something you would expect from a free publication. My favorite article in the Summer 2007 issue: "{Just Ask Jeff} Love & Sex: a guide to awe, shock and tingly sensations". Somehow this writer summed up most of my experience with love from grade school up to my present life. The only difference was it was told by a man's point of view...if that makes any sense. You might have to read it to understand. Pick one up today!

The Real Estate Guide of Las Cruces - The city's largest real estate company, Steinborn GMAC Real Estate represents their new and existing home line up with over 200 listings to view, plus information on mortgage lending and other seller and buyer services. Showcase of Homes/Parade of Homes - Each spring and fall the custom home builders in the region showcase their creative home design and new products. These resources are so well done, the articles are well written and the printing is so high quality (better than some big name magazines), I felt guilty taking it for free. They deliver great reading material that I can pick up anywhere around here. It's great that this area takes such pride in itself that our free publications are so professionally done. This company handles many of the local print jobs and they also specialize in web design.
