The tacos did not need a double tortilla, and the single corn tortilla was perfectly adequate to hold my taco fillings, which is awesome. A good amount of meat in the tacos with cilantro and onions on top. Came with a mild and a spicy sauce, so something for everyone. Because I finally have replacement for Wings Wednesday, and it's Food Truck Wednesday's! Jacksonville is doing it right, and I'm glad someone had the idea. Hopefully this takes off...! I'd hate to have something so great, and so local, ruined because no one knows about it. There were only two Food Trucks holding it down at the location: BlackHound Bar-B-Q and The Waffle Wagon. I jumped at the chance to have their Chicken and Waffles, and I must say I am impressed. The best I've had in a good while... and I have a few places under my belt (Lo-Lo's in Phoenix, May's Counter in Tucson, and The Red Door in Little Rock.) The chicken was lightly breaded, the waffles fluffy, sweet with a syrup that I can't place, and a little spice from what I believe to be Sriacha. It was so delicious, because the flavors melded together perfectly. The Chicken and Waffles was their signature dish, it came with a $10 price tag, and it was so incredibly worth it. There were other options, and they change daily. Let's just say I'll be back for the "Pig In A Blanket." (I just recently heard about the Waffle Wagon a week ago. I've been waiting to find them within close proximity for lunch, and I am glad I found them at this small venue.) As for BlackHound, I was flying solo, and not feeling like a fat kid. So next time around I'll give them a whirl, and then update the ol' review. Jacksonville has the right idea, and hopefully the local populace gets on board. I am not a fish person whatsoever, but I have found catfish that I enjoy. The catfish I got here was by far the best I have tried anywhere. Portion sizes were generous (hand battered, HUGE filets), the catfish darn near melted in your mouth and was seasoned perfectly. The coleslaw was great, as were the other items. Service was fantastic and greated with a big welcoming smile. I would recommend this joint to friends and family without reservation! Can't wait to sample their other items as they rotate their menu! Today, these were the options: -Agustus: Potato and feta perogies with a white wine mushroom cream sauce. ($6) -Henry VIII: Local pork and beef cabbage rolls in a tomato broth, garnished with green sauce, parmesan cheese, and herb oil. ($5) -The Ragnar: Herbed potato pancake, topped with slow braised, locally sourced pork shoulder, caramelized onions, and a gouda cheese sauce. Served on a bed of spring greens. ($7) -Desserts: Peanut butter pie with reese's and whipped cream ($3), or "Wunder cookies" and milk. ($4) I went for The Ragner, but traded the cheese sauce for the white wine mushroom cream sauce that topped the Agustus. I never expected such a fancy dish from a food truck. This could definitely be on the menu of a nice restaurant. The herbed potato pancake was pretty large, flavorful, and the perfect texture with a crispy outside surrounding creamy potatoes in the middle. The braised pork shoulder was perfectly tender and juicy. The caramelized onions gave the dish a little sweetness, which worked very well with the pork. I loved the white wine and mushroom cream sauce I switched out for the cheese sauce. It gave the dish a nice richness without overpowering the other ingredients' flavors. Finally, I love they put everything on top of a fresh spring greens. They were light and crisp and worked well as a vessel for the extra cream sauce. Plus, this meal was only $7, which I think is a great deal! This may be the best dish I have ever had from a food truck.
