I have called & spoken to lady @ Blacks Towing she was flippant about the whole ordeal after asking for explanations on such a outrageous bill ($2,575). She basically said because they have a contract with the county "thats what they charge" & that I was frustrated at the wrong person (not sure who else I would be frustrated at) when I pressed on the facts that based on the bill details there seems to be double dipping on some of the charges basically charging twice for the same item/action (like the fuel surcharge, one would think that would be included in the actual towing she stated it was because the county charges that?) I also called other tow companies in Evansville- (granted Blacks is in MV) to compare what they would have charged & they agreed that SOME of the charges seemed excessive. It took Blacks 3 different trips because they didn't bring the necessary or proper equipment the first 2 times but charged him for the most expensive trucks the entire time along with the almost 3 hours to get the job done & towed approximately 11 miles. It would appear that they make multiple trips with the wrong equipment to extend the amount of time for job to be completed while charging you based on the time it takes to complete the job. While I can understand the first trip with the wrong equipment based on the initial dispatched call alone however any subsequential trip with the wrong equipment seems questionable at best.
