In my case, I don't necessarily do this to save money, but because I like a challenge. This challenge sends me to ReTool frequently. ReTool is a small store that sells (mostly) used tools of all types and varieties. They offer hand tools, machining tools, power tools, yard tools, and a selection of things you may have to ask what they are used for. You can buy a single screwdriver for $ .29 or a massive laser survey machine for $549. Part of the fun of going to ReTool is that the inventory is constantly changing so you'll never know exactly what treasure you can find. I became a loyal customer a few years back when working on redoing my kitchen. I needed an air compressor to install some crown molding and found a good one at ReTool. The very helpful gentleman behind the counter (I assume he's the owner because I always see him there but don't know for sure) asked what projects I was going to use it for. After telling him, he said 'well I'd suggest going to Home Depot on aisle (something), right now they are running a sale on this particular air compressor and it comes with a few nail guns as well.' I thanked him for the suggestion and went to check it out. He was spot on, the price was what he said and the item was exactly as he described it to be. He saved me a good amount of money just because he happen to know of a random sale at Home Depot. Because he was helpful and sincere, I am a loyal customer and always check ReTool first when needing a new/replacement tool. The selection here is so diverse that I can guarantee you'll find something that you either need, always wanted, or something so foreign to you that you must buy it solely so you can say you have your own 'Glockenspiel tuner thingy'.

I drove to this place today hoping to find some advice on repotting my little plants. I immediately…read morefell in love with this place. This place is filled with all kinds of plants growing indoor, the sound of water fountain, a white dove, cool terrariums, antique stuff... I was immediately greeted by a staff and people were so down to earth. They exactly knew what kind of soils I needed for different kinds of plants and pointed out what I really needed to get from them (as opposed to the general items that I can probably find cheaper at larger stores). Still, the different soils and plant food were making it a bit expensive for me. And honestly, I was not sure what I should do with the rest of the soils and plant food. Then, they suggested that they can repot the plants only for $6! They offered to include all the soil and plant food for the different plants. And... they did such a beautiful job repotting them. But the story does not end here - they even put some nice moss and river stones on the soils for the presentation and better water retention. This is a place with great therapeutic atmosphere with knowledgable and down to earth people. I will definitely come back here to support the local stores! And... with regards to a one star review. (No, I did not send him a message.) I think people can have any opinion about the store but it is not a fair judgement to rate the store one star just because they don't want to deal with any politics inside the store. This is a fairly conservative part of the U.S. but we never know what customer's political ideology is. Thus, if one runs a business, it is better that they keep it neutral. The review should be based on the service and the product one receives from the business and not on the match (or mismatch) of political ideas.
