But is the company reputable? And do you really want to go with a relatively new company even if is owned by your buddy. He decided, no. Newman is competitive with hundreds of 5 star reviews. He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. I highly highly highly recommend Newman Roofing. They did my kid's. They did this roof and in 2 years they will do our other roof. Price is good too.

My husband is an active-duty Navy officer, and I am an Air Force veteran and Ohio is my home state. We moved to Morrow County in December 2022 after living overseas. We have moved every few years nationally and internationally over the past 13 years as a family, and my husband has served our country for 27 years. My husband lives in Virginia currently to finish up his last tour before retirement. I am here in Ohio handling the home, three kids, 13 acres, animals, and the obstacles of this renovation. We are new to the area and did not have local contacts for skilled craftsmen or subcontractors. My husband and I hired SRS Construction (Blue Cardinal Construction), Donald Caudill Jr, owner, and project manager, to renovate our first and forever home. He presented a contract for the scope of the project without a written completion date. The renovation process began June 1st and as of today is still incomplete. In our household we have three young children, my elderly father, and multiple animals. After several written requests for an estimated time of completion for utilities, made by me and my husband, 42 days passed, June 16th to July 27th, without running water, working toilets, showers, and air conditioning. Don Caudill emailed me on July 26th with the following; letter is in the pictures. SRS Construction's owner, Don Caudill, hired subcontractors to complete the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. After the work was declared complete, we hired licensed independent companies to come evaluate the work done by SRS Construction's Don Caudill. Based on their findings, electrical and HVAC are not up to Ohio code and and unsafe. The Structural engineer's report shows the vaulted ceiling is structurally unsound along with the stairwell. Reports are attached. We paid $54,000 to SRS Construction's owner Don Caudill for contractual work, and to date it is incomplete. We are now paying thousands more to fix the work done by SRS Construction's Don Caudill Jr. as stated in the professional detailed assessment.

I had JVP do an inspection and provide a quote (if needed) of the stucco front on my new home…read more Since I've never worked with stucco before I just wanted to make sure everything was solid and nothing in need of repair or concern. John answered his phone on my first call and stopped by my home within a few hours for a free consultation/inspection. While my request wasn't urgent I truly appreciate his responsiveness and timeliness. Good news! The stucco front is in great shape with only one small surface crack which we can easily repair ourselves with stucco putty. He pointed out a few small gaps between our windows and wood frames and made the suggestion to fill those in with caulking to avoid potential water leakage when it rains. That was nice friendly advice and again, something we can do ourselves or hire a basic handy person. JVP could have easily tried to take advantage of what probably could be perceived as a naive person (although I would never let that happen...have another company scheduled to do the same inspection) but instead was honest, professional and really informative. I know home repair reviews aren't the most exciting to read, but Yelp is my first go to place for everything. I want to make sure JVP gets the credit and consideration it deserves.
