I contacted Kyle on Saturday afternoon about getting a quote on our lake home in Duluth. He was there the next day, Sunday, to measure and talk with me about what I wanted done.
We were changing the color of all of the walls on the main floor, continuing up the open foyer, stairway and loft, and finishing with the upstairs hallway. It was a lot of work, with three different colors of paint.
We got quotes from two other painters, but felt that not only was K&K's more accurately done, but it was also the most reasonable for the work we required. The fact that they had an A+ rating with the BBB was icing on the cake.
From the first time I met Kyle, and Kirsten, the other half of K&K, I was impressed with their professionalism and desire to please. They understood that my family and I were part time residents and they were willing to work around our long weekends at the lake, and would cleanup each time we were coming up so that we could have use of the whole house. I received photos emailed to me after each day's work to show me the progress for the day, and if there was a question, I would get a text immediately. Kyle and Kirsten were the ones actually doing the work each day, and I felt very comfortable giving them the code to the lock box outside. They treated our home with the utmost respect, and needed me to urge them to use the bathroom, fridge for lunches and water, and the internet so they could get email because the cell service was so bad. (The wifi password was on the fridge in big letters, but they kept trying to use their cell phones; they didn't want to take for granted that they could use the internet.) I was also impressed with the fact that Kyle and Kirsten moved the furniture before painting a room, then put it back the way they found it. They did this by videotaping the room before they started. I just can't say enough about the kind of people Kyle and Kirsten are! They are hardworking, trustworthy and the proud parents of 4 young children.
As for the paint job itself, I can only sing their praises! Try as I did, I could not find a spot where wall paint crept up on the ceiling, or there were missed spots on a wall. Their contract promised at least two coats of paint on all surfaces, or whatever it took to have good coverage, and the final result came out wonderful. The house looks so much brighter with the new paint and color scheme, and I couldn't be happier. I made a comment after we paid them that I wished I had thought to have them paint a small length of conduit that was on the cedar ceiling, and Kyle ran out to his truck, grabbed a brush and a ladder, and started painting it! It wasn't his job, but he wanted to fix it, and he even came back later in the week to put another coat on. He also told us that if we found any spots that needed touch ups to let him know. He is so proud of the work they do, he will go the extra mile to leave you smiling. I would not hesitate to call K&K Lindquist Painting for any job! read more
