You've heard the adage "Nice guys finish last," right? Well, it's applicable to us females, too…read more This past year was a rough one for me: first, one of my sweetest students (age 16) passed away suddenly. Then I was in a relationship that was very, very difficult on multiple accounts. To top it off, though I have pretty good self esteem, I just feel awkward and insecure sometimes. Needless to say, I needed someone to help me sort out my feelings of grief, confusion, and inadequacy, coupled with the blame and general negativity that was being projected onto me. I hoped therapy might help give me a more positive perspective and learn some coping and/or behavior strategies. Dr. Greenburg is very perceptive: she's picked up my nuances and habits pretty quickly, and I like that. She's pleasant and asks about my week. If I have a problem or something that's bothering me, she has a plan of attack. She can also sort through my unchronological messes and see patterns (in how others treat me, my response) and brings them up. This is EXACTLY what I wanted. And, she's very non-judgy. (Also exactly what I needed.) Through this journey I've learned what "codependency" is. "Nice guys" and "nice girls," you might want to look into it; awareness might help us "givers" walk away with more than just the short end of the stick! (In short: Treat yourself with importance, because others aren't necessarily going to!) So, to sum, I'm feeling positive and optimistic, and I'm thankful for that. Onward to a better, more positive year!

I have been receiving care here, on and off, for a number of different reasons, coming up on 3…read moreyears now. (Dr. Reddy) I left a poor review for their office after my mother died, we had a communication issue that resulted in me being over-emotional and blaming them. I'd like to set that straight here and provide a thorough review of my experience with this business over the years - emotion free. I'll add that Dr. Reddy reached out to me after that issue, apologized for whatever happened with the office, and assured me he would continue to treat me if I came in, which I did, and I am so happy that I did. (read on) ________________________________________________________________________________ The Office: In reference to poor reviews - Scheduling mishaps happen, and sometimes people have bad days. In my experience, they right all wrongs. At the end of the day - it's a business that provides a service, and no business operates with perfection. However, in my experience, this office operates more professionally and with more care than others I have gone to. I have never been dissatisfied with the actual service I've received. I will note that if you want to reach the Arlington Heights staff, make sure you use the correct contact info. I find that if I schedule or make contact with a different location I end up having issues. However, if you call their office directly, the AH office, they are incredible and I do not have any issues here ever. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Doctor: More importantly, no office issues would ever cause me to re-consider the actual treatment I'm receiving from Dr. Reddy. I would put up with quite a lot of front desk shenanigans if it meant continuing treatment with Dr. Reddy, who doubles as a real human person - if you don't know what I mean, be grateful. He is wildly intelligent, knowledgable, and understanding of nuance and complexity within his specific field/clientele. I do not believe he treats individuals "cookie cutter" style because my experience has absolutely not been 'average' and he has not skipped a beat with helping me move forward, adjust things, or out-right change something. He's the type that will be beneficial for someone who truly wants to change. However, I think he's a bad bet if you're not willing to do what needs to be done, or are unwilling to take the steps required to begin/continue treatment with him. He's too smart for BS and I believe this is what makes him such an incredible asset. If you're truly trying to make behavioral changes, he will provide incredible care in this case - per my experience. ________________________________________________________________________________ The Result: Dr. Reddy, both directly and indirectly, has helped move me from a dead-end job, due largely to my 'issues' affecting my ability to perform to my potential. I lacked motivation and I had a healthy amount of self-hatred. I had a horribly dysfunctional marriage, my sleep was bad and I was not exercising anymore (something I have done for many years without pause). I was also not being the father that I desperately wanted to be. All around - unhappy. - I now manage a mid-large company here in Chicago, with a dozen employees under me. - My marriage is wonderful, our communication is open and often. (Dr. Reddy brought my wife into my treatment briefly to help keep me accountable, which inadvertently helped us become more invested in each other overall). - My daughter has loved having a much healthier version of her father, I have the energy to go play and run around and I'm more present psychologically to invest in her personal growth and development. - I'm able, and have the energy/motivation, to be in the gym 5 hours/week again without fail. Not to say he magically fixed my life, but he has been a mostly constant part of my life over the years. The rough periods over these years have been the periods I wasn't seeing Dr. Reddy, but improvements began immediately upon resuming treatment when I came to my senses. I absolutely attribute the majority of the large-life-changes I've experienced over the years to his care, commitment to my success, and his specific personality type. I'll reiterate, it did take 3 years for me to get here. These types of personality flaws, behavioral changes, etc, take time. He may not have fixed my life, but he did provide me with more than enough treatment/advice/planning to succeed IF I followed through. He did not provide me with the opportunities that changed my life, but he provided me with myself back, and with that, I've been able to take hold of those opportunities with confidence & clarity, resulting in success. ________________________________________________________________________________ Bottom line: I don't think my life would look anything like it does right now, had it not been for Dr. Reddy & his team. Period.

They are thorough and spend the time required to know their patients. I personally feel like the NP may be providing better treatment plans the MD. My experience having been treated here was relieving at first as I really needed serious attention…read moreand help, but slowly became unprofessional. This is not the location to choose if you are looking for long-term healing. The advice and insight I've been given felt like a bandaid compared to a lot of the complex and deeper issues I was struggling with. I didn't feel care or empathy at all from Katarina. The office started ghosting me, and have not gotten any response from her. Coming out of my sessions I felt unimportant, I felt like my issues and struggles didn't matter. This place didn't feel like a lighthouse. Matters got worse when I was asking for a note, or signing papers for work. The attitude towards me became cold. If it was out of their capabilities, I wish they tried referring me to a different location, helping me reach out to the actual help I needed. I felt so lost and stressed especially in the state I was in already. I felt threatened to have a session or not. Please, take the time to listen, be patient, understanding, responsive, and act with care as all these patients are going through tough times. Edit* After writing this review, I experienced an unsavory set of actions in order for me to take down this review, thus slowing my healing process. I have no doubt they have helped individuals before, but the unsavory actions indicate large red flags for this business. I advise caution. After every session, Katarina would just walk away like time was up that's it. I just felt like a stranger that she had to talk to for one hour and then that's it. Being a social worker, I felt it lacked the empathy and warmth. I've never felt as if she tried to understand me. I switched to my old psychologist and after just one session with him I felt hopeful. I expressed my concerns and he showed me empathy and a willingness to work things through.

You can get better information, advice and direction from YouTube or podcasts. There are several highly trained and experienced therapists that you access for your specific concern. Unless you lack any self awareness, and even then, either these therapists are oblivious or simply don't have a level of skill or any follow through necessary. If you don't return, no one follows up. May as well just use a free, more highly specific resource. I was advised to take action that is opposite of that for dealing with someone with the issues presented and would've further antagonized an already dangerous situation. Presented with the caveat they really don't know. I am not paying to get advice from someone who doesn't know! I can get bad advice for free, on my own time and not have to drive! Maybe try online therapy that isn't as expensive and time consuming and offers more alternatives for your specific issue. Extremely disappointing. Do not recommend.
