Great food and even better service!! Came here on a Christian Motorcyclist Association breakfast ride with a big group and it was perfect. Several tables for 8 available. Hardest working waitress I've ever seen. I highly recommend!! Update: Second trip here in a week -- it's that good! Found out two more important things today: 1. This is obviously a local favorite. We got there around 8 pm and it was packed. I looked at what people were ordering and we decided on chicken fried steak with fried okra and chicken strips with a baked potato. It was crazy good. Piping hot with a golden crust. The Texas toast was drenched in butter and so good. We each got a bowl of gravy for dipping. A trip to the salad bar was included. There were quite a few choices of things on the salad bar. The orange jello/marshmallow salad was really good. The waitress brought out a fresh bowl of lettuce for us. The cafe was inside a gas station so I know that some people might not stop there. That would be a bad decision. We have decided that anytime we are in the area we will stop in. Several people chatted with us while we waited for our food. Chicken fry was excellent. Burger was on point. Waffle fries were fabulous. Salad bar had a wonderful selection of fruit and fresh fruit at that. Pie was good. Sweet tea was excellent. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that service is extremely slow. read more

I'm allergic to onions. I ordered a water and chef salad and specified no onions. I've been ordering the same thing for years and ALWAYS tell them no onions. The lady brings me my salad. I had to go get my own silverware. I take a few bites and then all of a sudden get a huge bite of onion. By the time I fished out all the onion there was enough to equal a HALF OF AN ONION. The waitress (bad attitude and bleached out hair) never once stopped by my table, never refilled my water, nothing. The salad had only about 2 tbsp of cheese and barely any meat. I went to the salad bar for more cheese and bacon bits. Haven't been back since. This place is owned by the Sheriff and him and the deputies hang out more there than they do drug busts in a county overrun with drug addicts or do their jobs. read more

One of the last mom and pop truckstops around. The restuarant is usually very good. The breakfast is the best in my opinion . Great big omelets with hash browns and two biscuits with gravy Mmmm mmmm. You will not leave hungry. Good chicken fried steak as well. Most of the waitresses are good and get to you quickly, only one time I had a problem as the waitress took some of the locals orders before mine even though I was sitting there before they walked in. This place does seem to be where the locals eat. The truckstop itself is ok your basics are covered and they have A shower for us truckers. Its not the best shower by far but when you need a shower it is great. If you are looking for a good bite to eat I would tell you to stop here, but if you are in need of a shower I'd say move on down the road. read more

Yeah! Nothing like those hole in the wall family businesses. Food's always great and the staff always friendly ( which make the patrons pleasant and easy going ). This lil gem has great food at great prices, but just as important and very rare to have all three criteria for a great place - very nice sized portions. Yuck Daughter's burger was so greasy she literally squeezed out about a 1/2 cup liquid taking the first bite. CFS was OK, husband's was huge portion-but mostly breading. My portion was small, but mostly meat. Flavor was just OK. Baked potato was the smallest, shriveled little potato I've ever had at a restaurant. Mashed potatoes tasted soured. I'm not a country girl- Dallas'ite But on the way home from a reunion we stopped at JW's and I had to try the buffet! Fried chicken, perfect mashed potatoes and homemade rolls! Went in there tonight and was told my order wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes called them back and said I wanted to cancel the order and they said it was ready when I called about 8 minutes later to cancel it, so I went and got it anyways was told it was warm and it hadn't been sitting for more than 5 minutes went back and checked my order and it felt cold, my roommate was extremely rude to the owners because we had a difference of opinion ok weather the food was cold or not and not only did she have them remake my order she refunded it completely (even though I said she didn't have to) she did it anyways ) so I will defiantly recommend to anyone traveling through to stop and get food there because not only is it delicious it's top notch customer service because even though we had a difference of opinion she still did what she could to make her customers happy so I will defiantly be coming back simply because of the fact we had a difference of opinion on the warmth of the food and they re did it and the fact they had to deal with my rude roommate. When they could've simply asked us to leave without our food so o really appreciate what was done although I felt bad about the way the owners wife was treated. read more
