Due to the new patio and retaining wall construction, it was a little complicated install. Carlos and the crew exceeded the expectations and delivered the perfect system with Rachio smart controller on time and according to the plan. Not every contractor was willing to submit a blue print for me to set my expectations. Carlos did that too and was phenomenal in explaining the watering needs for grass and flower beds along with maintenance requirements and options. He used Hunter PgP rotors which are best in industry and not the rainbird. After we needed couple of tweaks to the rotors and he tweaked those quickly. Can't be happier with the system.

I had been working with a plumber and he sent Freddy whose brother Noah came same day to help me. Well Noah looked at the valve and observed the sprinkler coming on and the banging of the pipes in the basement. He said he would close the valve just to back off on the pressure without preventing flow to the sprinkler. This went a long way to preventing the sprinkler from pulling water from the house (which is what had been deduced after a month of troubleshooting). It was a smart move and alleviated the problem about 90%. He advised to still put in a check valve in the water main line to the house. And all it cost was $65. A real bargain. We had Julio install our multi-zone sprinkler system back in 2018, after researching and interviewing multiple companies/recommendations, etc. Julio not only came in the most competitively priced, but he also was the most forthcoming and honest with the work that needed to be done. Installation was managed/overseen by Julio himself. His team worked quickly and efficiently through the installation. Julio explained everything that was installed and gave thorough instructions on how to use the system. Even though the system is really easy to use, I have had occasional random questions and no matter what I ask or when I reach out to Julio, he ALWAYS quickly responds. He is a GREAT business owner that way! You can never find people to respond to things! Julio offers his services twice a year to his customers, to assist with the turning on and off (winterization) of the irrigation system. Twice a year, we have continued to see Julio's righthand man, Anthony, whom we have grown to love and appreciate as well. Here is the abbreviated back story: I'm a disabled 30-year Army veteran who signed a contract with Patriot Lawn in March 2020, after my Persian Gulf War-related disabilities worsened to the point where I could no longer maintain the yard on my own. I selected Patriot Lawn because they mowed my neighbor's yard. My contractual issue with them began when I emailed photos and asked Patriot Lawn to repair the damage to my lawn caused by their crew using the heaviest self-propelled mower on a small area of wet grass in my front yard. The office manager agreed to do the lawn restoration but stipulated that there would be a charge if there was a next time. I responded by offering suggestions to avoid causing further damage (like using a weed eater or simply skipping that small area if it's soggy), and I pushed back on their idea that I should be charged for repairing damage caused by their crew as not being legal in Virginia. The next day, I received an email from the president of Patriot Lawn informing me that after his manager repaired my lawn, and he was discontinuing my mowing service. I responded to his email by pointing out that we have a contract in place that obligated Patriot Lawn to provide a set number of mowing per year, and his unilateral decision to prematurely discontinue my mowing service would be a breach of our contract. The president of Patriot Lawn responded to my email by stating that his mowing service is not a binding contract. In response, I asked him for a copy of our contract to review, but he did not respond to my request. I located a copy of my contract in my email archives, and I confirmed that the president of Patriot Lawn was not telling the truth. So, what am I doing about all of this: first and foremost, I wanted to warn other neighbors about Patriot Lawn and Landscape's unlawful (and unpatriotic) bad faith acts. Secondly, I am in the process of filing a formal bad business complaint with the Better Business Bureau Lastly, under Virginia's Consumer Protection Act, I am in the process of filing a with the Attorney General of Virginia. What do I want you to do: I would like you to avoid signing or renewing a contract with Patriot Lawn and Landscape and instead follow the advice that the company president gave me after four years, "There are a lot of mowing companies out there... and finding one is absolutely the best solution for your lawn."

Total cost $318 to replace a $30 valve. ($225 for the valve repair $75 for the service call plus tax). the Tech was there well short of an hour. Seems kind of short sighted. i would have rated them a 5 and been happy with the $225 to diagnose and repair the valve. ($30 in parts and close to $200 in labor. Next time i will pay the service call to get the issue diagnosed and do the repair myself and save close to $200.
