I'm grateful to have had such a great experience with…read more Dr. Samimi. He corrected my ptosis, and I healed in a minimal amount of time. He is a skilled surgeon and an expert in his profession with a warm and caring personality. He is very thorough and knowledgeable leaving me feeling very comfortable, knowing that I made the right decision choosing him. When I was healed, myself, friends and family were amazed with how great my eye looked. I would highly recommend Dr. Samimi.

Dr. David Samimi changed my life -- meticulous, honest, and the best at what he does…read more I've lived with cholesterol/fat deposits (xanthelasma) around both eyes for almost 20 years. They were hereditary--I've never had high cholesterol on labs--but the spots slowly grew and became more noticeable. When I didn't sleep well or my nutrition slipped, they looked even more prominent. People would get close to my face and ask what they were; over the years I was even picked on or teased about them. Years ago (~16 years back) I saw a cosmetic dermatologic surgeon who told me they could numb the area and "just take them out with a scalpel," but they couldn't guarantee I wouldn't scar or that they wouldn't come back. That didn't sit right with me. For safety, I'd already had the areas checked--benign--but I still couldn't find a doctor with a real game plan who made me feel confident. I wanted the right solution, not a quick one. After a lot of research and due diligence, I found Dr. David Samimi (Eyesthetica), and that changed everything. Consultation and Plan: From my very first consult in February 2025, Dr. Samimi stood out. He examined me carefully, marked exactly what he planned to treat, walked me through risks and expectations, and answered every question with patience and clarity. He gave me a step-by-step treatment plan instead of vague promises. I immediately referred my mother-in-law and sister-in-law after that first visit because I knew I'd found the right surgeon. Treatment Experience: I completed two in-office sessions and was seen four times total through August 2025. Each procedure was done in his office. I was awake the whole time, completely comfortable, and felt no pain--the anesthesia and technique were that precise. Throughout the sessions, Dr. Samimi narrated what he was doing, re-checked his markings, and treated me with the kind of care you give to family. He provided detailed pre- and post-procedure instructions; I followed them exactly, and my healing was smooth. He also had me return for follow-ups just to confirm the progress and make sure everything looked perfect. Results: The results are exactly what I hoped for: natural, clean, and symmetrical. I waited to write this until I was fully healed. The difference is night and day--those long-standing deposits are gone, and I already feel like there will be little to no visible sign anything was done as more time passes. (For reference, my photo with the hat is my "before," and the photo without the hat is my "after.") Professionalism, Integrity, and Fair Pricing Beyond the surgical skill, what impressed me most was Dr. Samimi's integrity. He was honest and transparent about cost, which I found more than fair for this level of specialty care. But truthfully, price became secondary; this was about finally having a doctor I could trust to do it right. My wife attended my initial consult and said the same thing I felt that day: "You found the best doctor in LA." Final Thoughts: For two decades I carried something on my face that I didn't love. It didn't define me--and my wife always loved me as I am--but getting this handled the right way mattered. I'm grateful I waited until I found Dr. David Samimi, because the experience was flawless from start to finish: expert plan, painless procedures, diligent follow-up, and results that speak for themselves. I've already referred family and anyone who asks about my experience, and I'll keep doing so. Thank you, Dr. Samimi--truly, thank you a hundred times over--for your skill, your honesty, and your care. Five stars isn't enough.

Thinking about getting your cataracts taken care of? I've spent the last 3 years doing your…read morehomework for you, and I'm about to demystify the process, allay your fears and give you all of the keys to the kingdom you'll ever need. I have been to a number of well-known ophthalmologists and a world famous eye institute, but, after my extensive studies, the best of the best and the only one I fully trusted was Brad Elkins. Dr. Elkins answers any and all questions, no matter how insignificant or stupid you might think they are. (And, believe me, I am the master of stupid questions, unreasonable fears and oblique reactions - I really should have worn a big chicken costume going in). I understand that even will all your questions answered, you'll still be fearful... it's understandable, it's human nature. But, Dr. Elkins is so well-educated, soothing and comforting in his presentation, that you will relax, trust and be fully prepared. Cataract surgery is not like Alex getting re-programmed in that haunting scene from "A Clockwork Orange", although going in, you might think so. For my left eye, I was as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof, blabbering nervously and my blood pressure way too elevated... but, with the calming effects of the local, Dr. Elkins talked me through the process as it was going on, demystifying it fully, answering all of my racing brain's questions and making sure I was calm and comforted through the whole procedure. It's as if he and I were on a cool, fascinating and mystical trip together. (As an artist, I have to tell you, the colors, the imagery is like nothing you have ever witnessed before). For the second eye, I couldn't wait to get on the gurney and get it done. I was with a group of smiling new friends (Dr. Elkin's crew, all wonderful souls) who took really good care of me. It was like being at a great cocktail party and the camaraderie was fascinating and memorable. (And, I must say, Dr. Siegel makes an excellent cocktail!) I wish I had more eyes, so I could go through cataract surgery with Dr. Elkins many more times. Special kudos to the surgical team and the surgical coordinator, Ana, who is a constant smile, while keeping all the details covered and making you feel confidant and comfortable. No matter what I may say, you're going to be nervous/scared, but following the surgery, you'll be asking yourself, "What was my big fuss all about? That was great!" My cataract surgeries with Dr. Brad Elkins were painless, quick and the results are astounding. I can see the craters on the moon without a telescope, my art looks, as if, I have never seen it before and it's great to be able to look deep into people's eyes and make a full connection. Time to stop living in fear - get the surgery done already - and see your wonderful world, as it was meant to be seen.

When I got home, I flushed the eye out with water, thinking that would take care of the remaining irritation. Wrong. I'd never experienced this kind of eye discomfort before - and it wasn't going away. I went to bed, but didn't get one iota of sleep -- the eye was just a bit too uncomfortable. Early the next morning, I was unsure how to proceed. It was Sunday, so no eye clinics were open. Did this warrant a visit to the E.R.? I wasn't sure. Finally, I called Colvard Eye Center and they said they could put me in touch with the on-call doctor. I said OK, and soon heard the slightly sleepy-sounding voice of Dr. Bala. I hadn't ever talked to her before, and now I'd introduced myself by waking her up because my anxiety kept me from realizing I should wait a couple of hours. I wouldn't blame her for being grouchy for such an early call -- but she wasn't. I told Dr. Bala my situation, and she was wonderful about the whole thing. She told me I didn't need the E.R., set my mind at ease, gave me some recommendations as to how to get by for the day, then said to call in first thing the next morning, and that she'd try to see me. The rest of the process unfolded nicely under her caring guidance. A few days later, she looked into my eye and said "much better!", giving me permission to drop my prescription eye drops. I'm so grateful for Dr. Bala's caring, professional, and spot-on approach & treatment. I look forward to her being my primary ophthalmologist for the foreseeable future. Thank you, Dr. Bala! :)
