I had an appointment at 9, the first girl opened up a little bit late but that was alright. I waited while she cut an elderly woman's hair and washed someone else's hair. Mind you, I was going from long hair to a short choppy bob, the girl who was already there admitted she did not entirely like she would be able to cut my hair they way I wanted as well as her co worker, who was coming in later, would be able to. I was fine with this, I appreciate when someone can admit they are out of their comfort zone and I could tell she really wanted me to be happy with my new cut. I waited about an hour before the other lady arrived. She got there and cut my hair exactly as I had envisioned. Not only do I have curly hair and love my curls, but I also love my outdoorsy, wash-and-go lifestyle, something that amazingly few stylists understand. Most want to throw so many products at my head (that I get scared I'll burst into flames when I sit in the sun by a window) seemingly to disguise the fact that they really don't know how cut curls without making me look like a dirty, matted shih tzu (minus the zu part). So, back to Anna. She not only listened to me while I explained what I wanted and how much time and energy I put into my hair, but she heard me. We discussed different styles and why some might not be great for me, and then she helped me with some styling tips that fit right in with the wash-and-go life.
