We were meeting friends here to celebrate a birthday with a few kids. I had never been here before and only had instructions to meet at a designated time. Walking in, it looks like a small painting studio and wasn't very busy/crowded. I arrived ahead of my friend and the young lady asked if we had a reservation. I explained that I hadn't organized the meet up and was waiting for my friend who had. She then proceeded to lecture me - over and over and over and over (seriously it was more than 10 times) that parties over a certain size needed a reservation. So... I called my friend. She said that there wasn't a reservation because she was informed that they are only required for groups over 10 (we had 4 kids who wanted to paint). When I relayed this to the young lady, the lectures started again and I was told that the number 6 for a reservation. A moot point since we are still only 4. After several more minutes of grief-giving, she told me that I could sit in the back room with our group (it was completely empty). While sitting there quietly waiting, she came again ... more lectures. At one point I told her that her point has been made very clearly and asked if we can just move on. So there we waited for the rest of our group. When my friend arrived, the lectures started again. Doing this painting activity was a special request from the birthday kiddo. It wasn't a party; more like a few hours with a couple of besties. If it weren't by special request, I would have walked out and not looked back. As is - this business is not somewhere I will frequent in the future. The customer service was appallingly bad, downright rude, and extremely unprofessional. read more

My and my birthday twin decided we were going to visit for our birthday. We wanted to make this Birthday extra special breve she'll soon be moving away. This was my first time here but she had been many years ago. We picked our pottery, took us awhile because there was many choices. The choices were for Halloween and some Christmas items but I wasn't in the mood for those so I chose mug I would use for tea and think about my friend while she's away. She chose a Santa tray to put cookies on when we visit her for the holidays after she settled in. There was a kids birthday party that day as well so it was a bit hectic in there. read more

Came to pick up my pottery pieces, I live 40 minutes away, and they're closed!!! Even though it says they're open online, so mad! Also, the lady (like a teenager or early 20s) who was working the day we came to paint was in such a bad mood, seemed to be irritated at everyone! Nice school break activity for the picky lil' girl. I pass this place all the time when in the Marietta Square area. Glad we were able to stop in for the first time. One of the workers acknowledged us as we walked in and explained the process. Pick an item to paint (prices penciled on each object) and grab a seat. Then, she walked us over to the paint wall where she explained the different paints and the number of coats needed for level of coverage. The picky lil' girl chose the colors she needed and painted away. Paid at the end and advised would be ready fir pick up in about a week. Easy peasy! read more

The price of the piece that you pick ,includes unlimited colors to paint with and also the heating process(my apologies for the wrong verbiage) It usually takes a week to have the item ready for pick up. My boyfriend and I went and painted two figures totaling more than $50 and we waited patiently the 7-10 return day period for them to return them. 2+ weeks go by and we call. The first day we called no answer, second day we called the lady answered and said " everything was picked up" and after we had reiterated that we neither received a message saying it was ready nor did we pick it up, she again said " like I said everything was picked up". I had a party in the front of the shop for my daughter. I was a bit nervous about having a group of 4+-year-olds in a place with breakables, but it worked out great. The workers/owner were all very hospitable and helpful. And let me tell you, Coco, one of the ladies that works there, is everything. She went above and beyond to help me get my party set up and I so appreciated her. She helped me haul stuff in from my car and answered all of my questions with kindness. This was one of the easiest parties I've done. I ordered cake from around the corner (call and ask Coco about it) and we got pizza from nearby as well. At least one of the energetic party guests was skeptical about a pottery party, but he, just like the other kids, found his piece to paint and quickly became engrossed in painting. I had never heard of this business. Just a casual afternoon my fiancé and I walked into the store. We approached the counter and stood for 10 minutes with no one to acknowledge us, greet us, or even speak to say ""we will be right with you." We wanted information on pricing, when we could attend a class, or arrange a party yet we were blatantly ignored. It honestly felt awful to be treated this way considering the fact that 2 instructors walked directly past us at the counter and ignored the fact that we wanted help. we came here for my mothers birthday with a small group of 3 and a child. the staff was very condescending towards us not knowing what to do because of this being our first visit, and all together just felt unwelcoming. they say they will text you in 7-10 days but they never do, and when you arrive to pick up your pottery they may or may not be able to find it lol. i don't know who runs this business but it does not deserve to be in such a consumer heavy area like the square. I'm giving this establishment 1 star because we never received our works of art OR our money back. It was our last day in Atlanta and asked for our pieces to be sent back to North Carolina to us after spending time in the Kiln. We gave our names and address and they never got back to us. Since august 2020 we have called them asking them to send us our works of art on FOUR separate occasions but apparently they were at their house? Weird. We didn't care about the money we Spent (84 dollars ) because all we wanted was the Memories that the little painted works of art created. We have since made a claim with the bank and hope these owners are enjoying our special personal pieces as well as our 84 dollars. Will NOT be going back. And you shouldn't either. read more

This is by far my favorite pottery painting place and I have referred many people here. The owner is so nice and remembers her customers by name. The prices are much cheaper than other local pottery places and there are no hidden fees. They have a fine assortment of pottery and paints. The turn around time is very reasonable. I give them 5 stars. Obviously parking on Marietta Square is an issue. They do the best they can to offer customers close parking behind their store. Just be sure to tell them the make can color of your car so that you don't get booted; it is considered a private lot. My only other issue is that it can get a bit crowded in such a small space. This can't really be helped though and we just try to be selective about the times in which we visit in order to avoid the crowds. It reallu is a great addition/attraction to Marietta Square. This is BY FAR my favorite pottery painting place. read more

Great place for a creative date or to take some bambinos. It's so simple--you walk around and pick out the piece of ceramic you'd like to paint. Then bring it back to your table and go bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s. They have different size brushes, stencils, and lots of paint colors, and you can use as much as you want. No worries if you're not sure what to paint; there are some finished pieces around the store to inspire you. When you're finished, head up to the counter and pay, and they'll let you know when you can come back and pick up your finished piece. (If you've never painted ceramics before, they have to fire it in the kiln before it's ready.) Some of the pieces are a little expensive. Of course, the stuff I wanted to paint was all of the $40 stuff. Their pieces range from $6-$40, and all of the paint and firing is included. read more

I took my granddaughter here on her day off from school. We spent a very relaxing two hours painting our items and really enjoyed our time together. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the supplies were plentiful. My granddaughter was excited that she could use a new brush for each different color! There was a large group there when we arrived, but since they were in the party room we were able to get started immediately upon arrival. Parking was no problem as long as you signed in at the counter inside and weren't planning to go anywhere else. I loved the fact that the ladies working there were so respectful of each artist's choices in color and design. My granddaughter was so proud of her work! The only downside is that you have to wait a week to pick up your glazed and fired ceramic pieces. The average price of items seemed to be in the $16 - $25 range which included everything. I went here for a friend's birthday. The staff was very helpful and the price was on par with some of the other places I've been to that do this sort of thing. They had every color imaginable and tons of stencils and brushes. The pieces were a wide variety too. They had tons of mugs and plates but also figurines ranging from owls to bulldogs to robots and everything in between. Watch out for parking and make sure that you tell the people who work there what you drive so they can let the parking people know not to boot you. read more

I took my grandchildren there mid November and then realized I couldn't get back before Christmas (I live in SC). Owners Joey and Elizabeth went above and beyond to get this Christmas platter to my daughter before Christmas. After about 25 phone calls, a busy season and me (a frantic grandmother), a new sub-standard FedEx in LaGrange, Joey went and retrieved it from FedEx and hand delivered it to my daughter today (12-23). The pottery selection is bountiful, and the staff is very friendly. The process: Select your pottery, pick a seat and the staff will set you up with a host of colors and brushes. Now, inhale. Exhale. And paint until your heart's content. Hungry? Fresh popcorn and water are offered while you paint. The staff and owner are very friendly and personable. They host small events, parties and even date nights. The overall experience was fun and relaxing and is a pleasurable experience for teens, tots, and adults alike. We'll definitely be back. We've come here for several years and each time it's been a great experience with our grandchildren and daughter. Great selection of pottery and prices with lots of paint colors to choose from. One time we didn't get back to pick the items up for several months and they still had them. They said they never throw theme out. Last week we made some Christmas items and asked for a rush on one of them. They accommodated us for our entire order including putting the bulbs on a Christmas tree we made. I had a very unfortunate experience here. I brought 2 girls I was mentoring from my business, and THE STAFF YELLED AT THEM. I feel they should have addressed me, the adult, sitting at the table, if there was an issue. Either way I told the staff they're kids, they didn't know any better, that they shouldn't be yelling at them, and to address me as the adult. I came back to pick up my pottery and told the manager I wanted to talk to her about the way they addressed the children, and she began yelling at me. I remained calm and polite and told her she was not in the shop that day and only knew what the young staff members told her. As the adult she should address me as such with the same respect I gave her. I explained that the staff didn't tell her the full story. Once I told her what happened she ended up apologizing because she didn't know the details and said she would talk to her staff. But she had already burned a bridge with me. I told her to cancel my party of 20, and took my business to "Art and Soul" in Sandy Springs. The service was great! The studio was much bigger! And they were professional. Not teenagers on a power trip. I will NEVER give Just Killn Time my business again! They were unprofessional and unpleasant and treated my girls and me like we had taken something from them. read more

My best friend was in town visiting from Missouri last weekend, and we were looking for fun activities to do. Neither of us had ever tried the whole "paint your own pottery" concept, so we decided to give Just Kiln Time a try since it's not too far from my place. It's located off Marietta Square, right across the street from the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. We had trouble figuring out the parking situation (a large sign in the parking lot behind them said that the car would be booted and we'd be charged $175 if we parked there). We circled around for a few minutes attempting to call them to find out where we could park, but no one answered. Eventually, we ended up parking directly behind them and a nice gentleman working the parking lot informed us that we could indeed park there, just to let the staff know what kind of car we drove once we were inside Just Kiln Time. We did, and it worked out just fine. So, be wary of the parking situation. This was the only downside. Otherwise, we loved this place. There were two nice girls working there who were very helpful. The prices were fairly reasonable, and they had a wonderful selection of paints and pottery. I chose a coffee mug and my friend chose a little sushi plate. They are open late on Saturday nights, so we got to enjoy two relaxing hours of girl talk while painting our pottery. When we were done, we paid and they told us the pottery would be ready to pick up in a week. Super easy. I will be back here for sure (when my friend comes back for a visit, when my mom is in town, and for a date with my husband)! read more

Just had a birthday party for my daughter there. Great place! Everyone was very nice and helpful. Great atmosphere. Parking was in the back and was not a problem at all. Great stuff to paint.
