My child collided MOUTH FIRST with our 90 lb chocolate lab's head while he was running full speed. My family dentist said that this office would be better equipped for her needs so a referral was sent over. I called to set up an apt immediately after speaking with my family dentist. This office was able to get her in on the SAME DAY to examine her and do x-rays. All the paperwork I needed to complete was available on there website so I was able to have the paperwork completed prior to the emergency apt and save time. Once we arrived at the facility, there was a special room for kids to watch Disney movies on a giant TV screen. There were toys to play with and stuffed animals in the room while we waited. My 3 year old loved that she got to watch Little Mermaid while we waited. Really helped with her anxiety as this was her 1st dental apt EVER and it was a trauma visit. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and happy to see us when we arrived. We did have a little wait but that was understandable since they squeezed us in for the emergency visit. Once we went to the back of the office they were quick to get her x-rays completed and in to see the doctor. Dr. Smith was VERY thorough, friendly, outgoing and was also gentle as my daughter's mouth was extremely sore. The office appearance was AMAZING. All the exam areas had there own TV's with Disney Movies playing , there were computers with game consoles set up and a table for coloring and crafts. The office was full of BRIGHT colors and butterflies hanging from the ceiling. They sure didn't make offices like this when I was a kid. Lol. Long story short, my daughter's teeth were not as bad as we expected (PRAISE THE LORD) and she had a WONDERFUL experience. We will officially be taking her to this office for the rest of her pediatric dental needs and then switch over to our Family dentist for her care when she is older. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS OFFICE!!!!!!

I took off of work and pulled my kids out of school just to show up and have no appointment. Then they lied about their procedures and their phone calls just to hide their negligence. It's almost like they wanted to be mean and vengeful about it. I will NEVER go back. Which is a shame because my kids really liked it there. It goes to show that they're in it for the money and not for the children.

I am only writing this because Familia Dental keeps sending me emails, hounding me to write a…read morereview. So, here it is... Everything until the actual check-up and cleaning started was fine. The attendants at the front desk were friendly and the X-ray technician was personable and welcoming. However, that all went downhill. The dentist or his assistant did not introduce themselves. The assistant seemed to be reciting memorized lines, like "brush your teeth twice a day, after meals. Be sure to floss and use mouth wash." The dentist looked at my teeth real quick and told his assistant, "no cavities". Then, the cleaning started. The assistant told me that there would be "water going into my mouth and suction". During the cleaning, water and plaque and whatever else is in a person's mouth was splayed all over my face...during the entire cleaning. Never once was there an attempt to wipe my face or a "sorry". It was disgusting and rude. The dentist was very rough while cleaning my teeth, painfully rough, and quick, like he was trying to race to finish. He left immediately after he felt the cleaning was complete, without a word. The assistant tried to schedule me an appointment, but I declined and she told me that corporate would probably make an appointment for me and send me a message and that I could cancel it. The dentist never said anything to me until after the visit was finished, he popped his head in real quick to say a very speedy "thank you". I have been to several dentists within my lifetime and have gone through many, many routine cleanings and check-ups. This was not normal. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I can see why some people are afraid to go to the dentist with occurrences like this happening. I gave two stars only because the girls at the check-in desk and the X-ray technician were wonderful to interact with, the main point of going to a dentist, the dentist, was terrible though. As mentioned in previous review, Dr Spates works more like robot than a gentle pediatric dentist…read more I transferred my Child's teeth care to her due to relocation and was surprised to see how her office works. She walked in with no introduction and ready to work on a child with mouth open and help by her assistants. She did not even mention what is she going to do and was ready to use needles in my child's mouth. She does not read the patient files or see x ray , and worked on wrong tooth for which I am responsible to pay. I know in today's world every one is having hard time with business and wanting to earn most money, but these little lives under your instruments are someone's children and you have no right to play with their health. I am sure she is very skilled but she is not using her skills for best of her patients health and instead is focussed on numbers.
