The older woman who was working in there (I assume the owner) was very sweet; she offered peanuts to my daughter so she can feed the squirrel outside! The slightly younger woman who actually cut my husband and son's hair? RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. The second we walked up to the barber shop, she was outside walking in and I could hear she was already offended by us. I heard her mutter under her breath "de cho thang me lam di" which means "I should let the Mexican guy work on them" but in a very disparaging tone. As if she's too good to cut our hair so she's gonna let "the Mexican" handle it...so why didn't she let him? Oh yeah, he was busy...everyone in the shop was busy but her. Against my better judgement, we stayed anyway because of my desperation for haircuts...but we are never coming back! As one Vietnamese woman to another, we need to do better. We are never beating the allegations if you are going to continue to perpetuate a stereotype of people feeling like they are being talked about in a salon if that's all you know how to do. Also, don't rent out stations and profit off Mexicans if that's how you really feel.

I was assigned to Courtney, and the experience felt rushed and unprofessional. No beverage was offered, no wash or conditioner, and my hair wasn't even styled at the end--things that used to be standard here. During the haircut, she complained about her job duties, she stated she "can't believe they make her take out the trash alone. Women shouldn't go out alone." which made the whole experience uncomfortable. After I got home, I realized my neck had been shaved without any aftershave, so I applied my own lotion to prevent irritation. I even have a noticeable patch where my hair is thinner than before. Which I realized when I got home. Unfortunately Courtney did her best to make the experience pleasant, she just doesn't have proper training as a service professional, or as a good barber. It's disappointing to see prices go up while the quality drops. I won't be returning. I see the business owner reads these reviews and puts his thought into it, which is excellent to see. That's why Yelp is here. Management should know to either LOWER THE PRICE, OR RAISE THEIR STANDARDS. Anthony suggested a skin fade vs my typical #1 straight up on my left side and fade it on the other. I was a little hesitant but Anthony just straight up said I got you and you'll love it. HE KILLED IT. I knew walking in, when I saw a 6 year old sitting on the couch with the cleanest fade I've ever seen, that I was in the right spot.
