Nice place. Came out with a nice tidy haircut without emptying my entire wallet. Good service.

I know this Barbers as being calles 'Jacks' I've been coming…read morehere for several years and whilst sometimes I have to wait a bit to get my hair cut when their busy, It's always worth the wait. Nice people - Very friendly.

Well it gives me no pleasure to give a negative review but I walked away disappointed, so here it…read moregoes!.. This was my second visit to Potters Barbers and even though my first experience was pretty much the same, I simply thought that it is not worth the bother to sit and write a review... This time I wanted to get a haircut and a shave. The second - way more important, as I wasn't able to shave for a few days and badly needed it. Also I like quality shaving and I use a straight razor to do it at home! (I've been reading a lot about cut -throat razors (have a collection of them) and know how a traditional shaving should be done! Since I am interested in different products and techniques, there is very little that a barber can surprise me with...). That said this time I was surprised! The haircut was done very quickly and sketchy, in a perfunctory manner and neither the sides or the back, got the attention it deserved. The hair length should be the same everywhere but it wasn't! This wouldn't have bothered me too much (my hair grows too quickly!) if it wasn't for the shaving part. When I asked for a good traditional shaving, the man told me that due to my "skin condition" he don't recommend wet shaving! "It will bleed sir, because our razors are very sharp" ...Then he said he will do it "dry and it will be very close, I promise"! At that point I had my mouth opened in surprise - as mentioned previously I shave with a cut throat razor and a nick or a cut is an extremely rare event in my morning routine. Apparently though at Potters Barbers, only gentlemen's with a very smooth skins and fatty faces can get a good shave. Those that have a skinnier faces can hope for a lecture instead... Even though I already felt a sour taste in my mouth, I didn't want to argue as if the guy doesn't feel confident doing it, then it is better to not do it. Otherwise it may really cut me or something worse! After a lot of pinching on cheeks, chin and else ware on my skin, he managed to dry shave me with the machine and looked very proud of himself...I walked out totally disappointed as the feeling is no were near the same as wet shaving of course. If I wanted a dry shave I could have done it in the car and spare myself a disappointment. The whole experience wasn't very relaxing, as on top of all the cheek pinching, he was also trying to massage my shoulders and was pooling my fingers too?! (Not sure if this is regularly included in the haircut & shave procedure of Potters Barbers! Lol) Anyways, one can appreciate the massage if there was a good shaving done, but with no shaving this was really ridiculous! This may fool someone local into believing how good customer service this is but anyone truly discerning will be utterly disgusted! (As I was too!) To put it short - I walked in for traditional wet shave and didn't get one. Instead, I got my fingers and money pulled. I don't think I'll be giving them another chance and the loyalty card I was given went in the bin outside.
