Just Dance Event Center is a great place for a private party! The space is welcoming, spacious, and perfect for celebrations with family and friends. The decorations, setup, and overall atmosphere make events feel special and well-organized. It is a great choice for birthdays, weddings, receptions, and other private gatherings. I would definitely recommend Just Dance Event Center for anyone looking for a fun and convenient event venue. read more

Whether you're planning a party or want to learn to dance, Just Dance Ballroom is the place to be!

Don't bother going on Sundays for dance if you expect AC - they never turn on AC so it gets very hot and uncomfortable.

Best dance studio!! Awesome dance floor! Great music and bonds a group of pros! Many events and rounds hold in this studio! read more

This is a pre-review. I was in the area today and happened to stop by. It was already after regular hours but I noticed a choreography group that was using the space at the time. I was able to look up their website. They have their own calendar and ballroom dance services / instruction and I would definitely consider them for referrals. Will update if I have time to put on my ballroom dance shoes in the near future. I have been ballroom student since summer of 2002. read more

I have been a serious dancer for 37 years, and while nothing can replace the pure fun and friendliness of the former Starlite in Sunnyvale or its later but now defunct incarnation as Cheryl Burke in Mountain View, Just Dance has two superlative (and I am NOT exaggerating) ballroom teachers in Stephen Cullip and his wife Debbie Stevens. Their specialty is International Standard, and they put on a fun formation team for dancers of a range of abilities. Jeff Chandler is another superlative teacher (I have studied for years under both) who makes learning American Style very fun and his students progress rapidly. Parties here are sophisticated and festive, with top-notch showcases, beautiful decor, and a gentile ambiance. Get tickets early, as they sell out, then arrive early to find your table, as it can get crowded. The floors and size of the ballrooms are excellent. I do not find the social dances as friendly as those at the old Allegro, Starlite, and Cheryl Burke were, as there are no mixers, a large percentage of dancers are couples who do not mix, and even a highly skilled woman dancer attending alone may not get to dance more than once (when the business owner asks her - thanks, San!) But for lessons and competitors, this place is the best east of the bay. read more

This review is for the ballroom. My brother and sister-in-law had a beautiful wedding here -- we made it work. There was a lot of work put into the wedding. This ballroom comes with no support staff, so it's practically just a space. There were two staff there that night: an older lady in the kitchen and a man in the office. The space itself is huge, so if you're throwing a big event, you'll have to hire a lot of staff. We knew that coming in, but the lady who was supposedly there to "help" really helped herself. It can't get any more unprofessional and just strange. She doesn't speak that much English so communication was hard in the first place. What really appalled us was that she was packing food away and supplies. We couldn't touch anything that belonged to the venue, but she began to take our things and stashing them away. People warned us that she was a thief, but we saw it with our own eyes. Also, when we asked the man in the office (possible owner) to help with the lighting, he seemed annoyed, but didn't want us to control it. Pick one! When we asked a second time, he impatiently responded, "this is the last time, right?" Sheesh, we're paying for the space so at least do your job and show us if you don't want to. I don't suggest renting this space unless you want your things to be stolen from the staff, and rude service. The end. read more

Came one random night for their beginning salsa dance lesson. A friend of mine comes here to dance and lost 40 lbs. The instructor showed our class of about 10 beginners the basic salsa dance steps. But before we could really master it, the instructor went on to another variation for us to learn. The instructor went on to add other variations before I could really figure out the beginning steps. You also rotate and dance with other persons. I got the feeling that everyone was brand new and lost as much as I was. Not sure how others felt about having to dance with a dunce like me. Toward the end of the hour, other dancers there to attend the following intermediate salsa class began to join us. I could tell that they had a much better idea what was going on, but I was so lost by that point, I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. I've taken social dance classes before and it's my recollection that they showed you the basic steps and stayed with that until everyone felt comfortable before advancing to more intricate dance steps. However, this instructor here seemed to throw a lot at you (maybe four or five things) with the idea that after you attend a bunch of classes, you'll figure it all out and it'll come all together in a few weeks. Easy parking. read more

My wife and I got married in May of 2019 and she really wanted to do a tango for our first dance. We met with Karin Jensen and signed up for a package of 5 private lessons. Karin was terrific, she started us with the basics and then choreographed a routine for the song that my wife wanted. Karin was great with her instruction, she gave advice on how to make the transitions and work on our form. It took a lot of practice on our own and by our wedding day we were ready. It was a total surprise to everyone that we were doing a tango as our first dance and it was a hit, everyone loved it and we love watching it on video. Thank you, Karin!!! read more

Gayle and I are getting married in April and our running joke is that "There will be NO dancing". That actually reflects our preference to have a small family-only ceremony, a modest reception including friends, and have most of our money spent during our honeymoon in Portugal. Both of us are also over 50, have been down the aisle before, and don't want or need a 5 figure wedding experience. At the same time, Gayle and I would like to take some dancing lessons, as we really enjoyed ourselves on one New Years Eve on the deck of the USS Hornet. And the Just Dance Ballroom or maybe a place closer to the hairy confines of Pleasant Hill might just do the trick. I happened upon the Just Dance Ballroom last Saturday while dropping one of my son's friends for a birthday party next door. I wandered in and the lady at the desk was enthusiastically kind enough to show off the place. There are 2 larger ballrooms in front and a smaller studio in back. The facilities are new and handsome and feature ample seating and nicely maintained dance floors. Their brochure features a wide range of lesson and party opportunities for all levels. I lingered for a bit and was particularly enthralled with one couple practicing their tango routine. It's one of those times when you look down at your 2 left feet and think - Maybe I can do that! read more

This review is for Just Dance Ballroom as a dance studio rather than for any of the specific classes offered here. And in that aspect, it really is an amazing space. There are three beautiful ballrooms with high ceilings, huge mirrors, and high-quality dance floors. There are two large ballrooms (Grand and Waterfront), where most of the group classes are held, and a smaller ballroom (Sunset), which is used mostly for private lessons and open practice. And while I believe it is usually only open for weekend dance parties or private events, there is also a very nice, fully stocked bar with large TV screens. I can't personally attest to the quality of the drinks though. It should also be noted that this place has the best pricing I've encountered for open practice space. For only $6, you get up to three hours of (shared) practice space. Most dance studios charge that much per hour. My only complaint would be the lack of open practice space during the evenings on weekdays. The ballrooms are usually busy with group classes at this time or otherwise are closed to open practice. read more

This is a new beautiful dance studio that just opened. New building, new instructors, and new area. Just a wonderful friendly environment in which to learn all of your favorite dance styles. Everything from Hip-Hop, Waltz, Salsa, Swing. I just had my 1st swing lesson. $40 for 4 one hour lessons. What a Deal! The front desk staff were very friendly and comfortable to deal with. As a beginner the going-ons at a dance studio can be intimidating, but everyone here is so friendly and they do remember what it was like as a beginner. The instructors will take you "step by step" and guide you through the lesson with patience and care and will never chide you or make you feel dumb. If you like Metronome, you'll love "Just Dance" give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. Located between Oakland and Alameda right off the 880. read more

My coworker had his wedding here a few years ago. He showed me pictures and it was very nice. He told me to go check this place out. We were looking for a place for my daughter's quinceañera on March 12. My wife and daughter was so happy with this place. They have a big parking lot with free parking. The staff is also very nice. The renter included round tables and chairs and minor clean up. He also included color lighting and sound system for free. Saved me money because the dj was going to charge me extra to bring his own equipment! The other places we saw were no good. Even the hotel we saw didn't give us much and was more expensive. We will come back when my other daughter turn 15! If you plan to have a wedding, birthday, or party, you should go to just dance. Very nice space, you will be impressed. read more

We have been taking lessons here for the past two years and enjoy Julie Lowe's Wednesday night lessons. Every month the type of dance changes from Samba to Cha Cha to West Coast Swing to Argentine Tango to Waltz to Fox Trot to Tango to Rhumba to Bolero to Night Club Two Step to Hustle, etc. We just have a blast there, beginners are welcome as we are still beginners and you don't have to have a partner to join in. They have weekly afternoon tea dances on Sundays that we have attended and it is a great place to practice what you have learned. We just attended our first New Year's Eve dance there and it was fun dressing up with masks, long gowns and tuxedos. We got treated to an exhibition of two of the champion dance instructors there. The program was a bit long but inspiring. read more

Just started the Salsa I dancing series here today and it was fun! The facilities are new and gorgeous. There's seats on the sides with cubby holes for your things. A huge mirrored wall to see all your awkward dance steps. John and Liz from Salsamania teach the class. They went over the basic step, side basic, front basic, back basic and broke down each of the steps. At first they just do the ball and push. Then they add in the hip move. But man they do go over a lot of things in a short amount of time. It's a bit intimidating for those who are just starting out. Well after you learn the steps, the girls and guys split up to learn their parts for partner work. You go into a circle and pick a partner. Then danced, swapped partners, danced, swapped, repeat until the end of class. What's good is that you get to dance with several guys with varying experience but then you get to that one know it all....yeah...I got one of those guys. And I think his dancing was incorrect too. Anyways, with that aside, it was a good price for a complete series ($40 for 4 classes). What's nice is that Salsa I and Salsa II are back to back, so you can take both classes if you're daring enough. Will definitely have to try out the Argentine Tango one day. read more

I've only been dancing salsa for a few weeks and have recently started going to a few intermediate classes. Both beginner and intermediate were much more advanced than at other studios, which wasn't why I gave 1-star - I was actually glad that the classes were a bit faster paced. The reason I gave 1 star was because John (I believe - the shorter man with smaller stature) was incredibly self righteous and cold in his class. He seemed frustrated that people weren't at the level he expected and explained things in a "I can't believe you don't already get this" way. At one point he explained a simple cross body lead, but in a different way than I had learned (so essentially I was relearning), and literally said "if you are not doing it this way, then you do not how to do this move. If you don't do it this way, you are not doing this move at all." Either way, I found the attitude extremely diminishing and left halfway through class. If you're trying to learn salsa to have fun, and to enjoy the dancing then I would *not* recommend John and Liz. It doesn't matter if they're better dancers, they aren't very good teachers and the atmosphere is not welcoming or even fun. I've tried both salsa dreamz and salsa with Juan in Oakland and can full heartedly recommend those instructors, studios, and communities. The only reason I came was because I've been going to salsa classes 3x a week and was itching to find a Monday class to practice even more, but I should've stayed to some of the more popular and well rated classes. Also, there were about twice as many leads as followers in both beginner and intermediate class which was strange, and John at one point commented that the men should bring partners. Maybe if the atmosphere in these classes was even an ounce above freezing I'd consider bringing my partner, but feels like others already caught wind. Oh and the just dance ballroom doesn't have a free class trial so I ended up wasting $15 to be looked down upon by some elitist dude, so there that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ read more

6/23/08 update Went to Mike Pyle's 4th Sunday West Coast Swing dance. Well attended with dancers, around 150. Just heard his Hustle dance has moved to the 3rd Sunday of the month with Raul Ante as instructor then dance to follow. --------------------------- 10/16 Corrected address below. 2500 Embarcadero E, Oakland, 94606 E 7th St. turns into Embarcadero E From South: Traveling North on 880 Fwy from Hayward, exit at 23rd Avenue. At the 2nd traffic light (To Alameda), make a U-turn and continue traveling on the overpass. Turn RIGHT at the traffic signal (E7th Street), cross over Kennedy Street. Just Dance Ballroom is the second building on the right, in parking lot next to kids indoor play/party zone. Parking in front and back. ------------------------------ I went to a West Coast Swing dance on a Sunday with Mike Pyle DJ'ing, my first time at this dance studio. Mike will be moving his 3rd and 4th Sunday WCS dances to this venue starting in August. http://audiopyle.com/swingdj.htm Great Ballrooms, 3 in all, around 10,000 sq ft total. The largest is around 5000 sq ft., when you enter, after you pay, go to the door on the right, the other two ballrooms are around 2000 and 3000 sq ft. on the left. Love the AC, bathrooms are between the largest and smallest floor. The largest ballroom had a two walls of mirrors, one wall of windows to the outside, it is a long floor with ample seating on 3 sides of the ballroom with tables and chairs and cushion benched seating. Seems like they do all sorts of dance from Ballroom, American and International, to hip hop to Chinese. When we were there for the WCS dance, the other two ballrooms were being used for privates and quite busy. Many young people taking privates. In the smallest ballroom is water, tea and coffee and there are vending machines with drinks and snacks in a room off of the largest and smallest ballroom. Google instructions were incorrect, so check out the studio's website for directions. After you find it once, it is easy. Parking is limited in the front since it shares the lot with a kid's zone indoor playground but there is more parking in the back. read more

The facility and staff are nice. Social dancing can be an unpleasant or pleasant experience. It depends on who you dance with along with the willingness of the followers to accept an invitation and conversely the leaders inviting many followers... basically the amount of "mixing" happening. Bring you own water, no water fountains. Note: no dancing venue can get 5 stars (from every dancer) but 4 stars for J. D. read more

"Kim frequently feigns illness to avoid participating in PE class. " - report card comment from Mrs. Wood, 2nd Grade Teacher It's true. My nearsightedness had yet to be diagnosed; I was a hypochondriac, pathologically introverted, and terrified of balls flying at my face. Let it be noted that I have since had Lasik, traveled to third world countries, been struck with numerous balls AND performed in front of thousands of people. The last two accomplishments have absolutely no correlation, so don't try to pervert them in any way - I was forced to play raquetball with my sisters, and I studied classical dance, if you must know. So... what induced the flashback to second grade, and the humiliation of being the LAST ONE to get "picked" for dodgeball, softball, tetherball tournaments and... Red Rover? My first Cha Cha class. I figured: I had everyting going for me: * 12 years of dance classes * broken in proper dance shoes * 10,000 square feet of dance floor * A lovely, spacious studio * Cute but not slutty dance outfit * Patient, witty dance instructor * Even split between men and women in the class Okay. So I was the youngest person in the class... by a solid 25 years - maybe more. Most attendees were Chinese, card-holding AARP members, who parked their mid-level, luxury cars in the ample parkling lot. Why should I have been surprised by the demographic at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon? Most people my age should still be nursing hangovers over brunch, so I just decided to learn and have fun - it was only $5, afterall. We practiced the dance in our respective roles ("leaders" and "ladies") facing each other, and then were instructed to walk forward and partner up. In theory, this would have involved a simple, forward propulsion, without all of that 8th grade dance squeamishness. The "leaders" walked forward; I, one of the "ladies" did the same... and to my utter horror, came out, unpartnered on the other side of the dance floor. The Yellow Sea had parted, and I was solo, on the shore. I was choking back my impulse to clutch at my stomach and bawl, "I have the bubonic plague... I think I just need to sit down and watch this time!" when a sympathetic "leader" rose from his chair and cured me. He had been dancing for 7 years, he told me - and was a proficient, though not so assertive "leader". I liked him, and found the way that he mouthed "five-six-seven-eight" and bobbed his knees before we started a new sequence endearing. This was a Beginner's Class... so I was hardly the only newbie, but there were some really great dancers as well, who'd clearly been attending class for some time - with the benefit if a partner, to boot. As a Chinkana girl, who grew up surrounded by Latin rhythmns (and squandered her dance studies on tap, jazz and ballet) the Cha Cha was actually a really fun starting point. I laughed. I shook my ass. I had a great time, actually, despite biffing some of the more complex turns - I consoled myself by rationalizing: IF the lights were low, AND nobody could see my feet... AND I was dancing with a dude who could lead even a tool like me, I'd look hawwwt! I'd go back to the Cha Cha class... with a pal or +1 so as not to rely on the charity of a random "leader"... and I do want to ch-ch-check out the Argentine Tango, too! read more

Tomaj's Levitate Latin Fridays begin every week starting at 8pm with a group bachata lesson. At 9pm (bachata) social dancing begins in another room - and a group salsa lesson begins in the same room used for the bachata class. At 10pm (salsa) social dancing begins in the same room used for the lessons - and a kizomba group lesson begins in a third room. Dancing in all rooms continues until closing time at 1:30am. Free parking is available in a shared lot in front. Cost is $15 (or 2 for $20) and $12 for students with ID - regardless of when you arrive or how many classes you do or do not take. Fridays also include Rueda de Casino lessons at 8:30pm followed by social dancing. Lessons seem to be more popular than dancing afterward - and (sometimes) more people leave than stay. Tomaj and Just Dance Ballroom also host salsa, bachata, and kizomba dancing on the FIRST and THIRD Saturday of each month - after (7:30pm) bachata, (8:30pm) salsa, and (9:30pm) kizomba group classes - featuring various live salsa bands. read more

First off, I never took a dance lesson until October of 2009, and since then, continue on a weekly basis. I therefore do not have any experience with other dance studios and I was a 100% beginner when I first started, and I am not a young guy by any stretch of imagination nor a "natural" dancer. I am still working on my regidity and anxiousness. My first dance lesson was Rumba, but unfortunately they did not offer a (strickly) beginner's class, so it was very difficult (for me) to follow the instructor. Since +95% of the other students had years of experience dancing and taking lessons, the instructor spent 15 minutes on beginner stuff at a FAST pace, and the remainder on intermediate level training. That left me completely overwhelmed, but I hung on in there and I have NO regrets. When the studio offered a BEGINNER's course in Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango, I jumped at the opportunity and it continues to be awesome. The instructor, JULIE LOWE, covered the basics thoroughly and now provides more in -depth technique training at a level where beginners, like myself, can keep up. In addition, she offers lessons in Latin dancing as part of the overall syllabus and I LOVE it. I hope she never leaves this studio. As for the studio, the dance floor is spacious, well taken care of, a great learning environment with cordial and professional staff, not to mention ample parking in a quiet, industrial, and safe part of town. I highly recommend you check out this place with an "open mind" to see if it suits your particular needs. One visit does not provide a good assessment of the overall studio, staff, and instructors. I am a testament to that, because if I gave up after the first instructor, I would have missed all that I enjoy now; that would be a great loss. I might not have found another instructor, as good as the one I have now, who cares about the students and works hard to provide "individual assistance" within a classroom setting of many other students. Part of me struggled with the idea of recommending this place, as I do not want the student population to get too large, but my "angelic side" won. read more

*****EDUARDO: 5 STARS Zumba with Eduardo--omg, prepare to be sore for the next two days. It was one of the most intense hours of my life. I'd go again, but my schedule doesn't allow for me to make it out there during his classes. He is amazing with choosing routines which isolate specific muscles and target zones. Excellent cuing, but I think anyone who is not a normal Zumbaholic might get tripped up by his routines. I think classes with Eduardo will only get better the more you go. If I didn't already have a gym membership, I would most certainly go to his class religiously. btw, amazingly clean and organized facilities. Plenty of water to be had so you can refill your bottle on your break. The day I'd gone with my friend, Eduardo even brought in a bag of Cuties (satsumas) to share with the class, and I was hugely thankful for that as I'd skipped breakfast. A nice crowd that runs the gamut age-wise, but people are friendly like in most Zumba classes. read more

Just dance is a great place to go practice. Because of the multple floors (they have three) you can practice even if there are classes and private lessons going on. Ask for the student discount if you're a student, and it's only $6, Also, they have great private instructors including Maria Shibalova and Rachel Makow. I also know by hearsay that Jurga and Vidas are great. If you're a standard dancer, the biggest floor is actually regulation sized, so it's possible to map out your routines without having to guess as to floor size, or modify for length. read more

We highly recommend Lynn Gardiner's Wedding Preparation Series! We had so much fun with Lynn, and she helped us choreograph a very beautiful dance to "I'm Yours" which was tremendously fun. Many of our guests told us that the dance routine was the highlight of the wedding. Note that we very little prior experience dancing together, and we very much enjoyed learning dance skills with Lynn. She also took excellent videos and photos to help us understand how we could improve. We were married at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia and had Terry Newberry as the DJ. It was a beautiful and successful day, and we feel so much gratitude to all the team who made the day go so well. We were thrilled that Lynn was among the guests for the wedding -- many thanks to her for all her help and encouragement!! read more

I checked out this relatively new dance studio last night, attending a concurrent dance of Ballroom and West Coast Swing. There are two large floors that could accommodate both styles. In addition, there's a smaller "practice" floor in the back. The manager (?), Fodie Baker, is trying to bring both of her dance loves together, and this evening was such an attempt; she had West Coast Swing demos and a Salsa demo in the Grand Ballroom, where the ballroom dancers were doing their thing. She also held a WC Swing "Jack and Jill" contest in the Grand Ballroom, to introduce the concept to the ballroom dancers. Also, there was a raffle and I won a $50 gift card to a "medi spa," in San Francisco. Finally, I can begin to take care of those age "giveaways" on my face!! (Insert unctuous comment: "oh, no, Marja, you don't look a day over 34...") Anyhoo, the northbound directions on their website are unclear after a certain point. And, that point would be after I've made the u-turn on 23rd Ave. Somehow there was no 27th St. to make a right turn, and I ended up in Alameda! Luckily, I have a keen sense of direction, so I twirled around a bit and ended up at the studio. Yes, the floor is nice. Yes, the air conditioning was great. Yes, there were salty snack treats in the back of the studio. Yes, lots of dance class options that I may explore in the future, or at least let my wannabe-Salsero pals know about. But, and it' s a big one, something's got to be done about the West Coast Swing music. West Coast Swing dancers will forgive a lot but the music's got to be good to keep us coming back. When Mike Pyle starts holding his bi-monthly (if that means twice a month, then I've stated it accurately) dances, then come to mama! Until then, I will be very judicious with my appearances at this dance studio for West Coast Swing dances. Parking: slim in front, a bit more in the rear, and there's another parking lot across the street from the studio. This is a very industrial area (read into that what you will). Sidenote: given its proximity to Alameda, these dances may be a good jumping off point to go to bar hopping on the island! read more

Went to SFFX this year (my first year) and had an AMAZING time. If you don't know what Fusion Exchange is, it's three solid days (10am-5am) of dancing. This year's event was held at Just Dance Ballroom. It was my first time at the venue, and needless to say it was great. The three floors are all hardwood, the venue was clean, the staff was friendly---and everyone had a ball. It's really easy to find off the freeway, and ample parking. I recommend if you are coming from the West to get off at 16th instead of 20th.....it's a lot easier. We had nearly 500 people at the dance every night, and didn't have a problem finding a place to park it. Granted most people didn't bring their cars, and were staying at the hotel on the Embarcadero. This experience brought me back the following weekend to their open dance on Saturdays, and I'm sure I'll continue to go as much as I can. read more

We came to check out this place on a Friday night for one of their "Dance Parties" with a lesson. It was fun, even though, at nearly 30, my fiance and I were the youngest people there by at least 10 years. We were really scouting out a place where we could take a few lessons before our wedding. We signed up for the beginners package (the "wedding" package was out of our budget and schedule) and Lynn was our instructor. She was beyond helpful , very accommodating to our schedule, and really worked with us so we didn't look stupid on our big day. Our goal was to look slightly more polished than a high school dance, and she accomplished this while teaching us new moves we could actually do! We both really appreciated her attitude and patience with our lack of experience and I'm super optimistic that our 1st dance will go really well, thanks to Lynn. Totally worth signing up with her for private lessons if you're not getting enough out of the big group classes, or if you're beginners like us. The Dance Parties are fun, but you don't get any individual coaching, just a group lesson for the 1st hour of the selected ballroom style. They're fun, but it can be difficult to keep up if you don't have any previous experience. We'll probably still go though, because they are a fun and different thing to do on a Friday night. read more

Beautiful floors and extremely spacious. We went to the Friday night dance party. It wasn't much of a party, mostly couples talking to themselves and practicing their "routines". I say "routines" because they never seamed to mix it up, mostly ballroom style, although you can ask the DJ to play a specific type of music, salsa, swing, etc. and he immediately obliges. We are in our 30's and we were the youngest people there, This place is great if you want to really work on your dancing skills and not be crowded by rowdy couples trying to show off. I would go if you have a dance partner, going single would suck, because no one will ask you to dance. The host was nice and friendly and the place is clean and well cared for. Again we only went on Friday night, we will probably go a few different nights before we rule it out completely. read more

I used to go for dance classes and private lessons. They provide a good variety of ballroom classes for beginners and intermediate levels. As an avid ballroom dancer, I also look for a healthy and friendly dancing community that will encourage me to return. My main problem with "Just Dance" is that it attempts to fosters an exclusive and clique-ish atmosphere. If you're not a "regular", don't be surprised to find yourself ignored. For instance, I was convinced by my instructor to attend their dance demonstrations performed by professionals. My ticket stub states "General Admission, first come, first serve". A large group of my friends and I arrive an hour early to reserve front row seats. Right before the show, the management puts another row of seats in directly in front of us for guests who arrived late. This year, my family and I attended their New Year's Eve ball. The night was hosted by their stuttering MC, Brian. He asked the audience not to take video for legal reasons. My family complied by ONLY taking pictures. In the middle of a dance demo, he interrupts the show, approaches my family, and announces to the audience the show would have to stop if we don't put away our cameras. My family felt needlessly embarrassed. Other "regulars" were not confronted even though they had cameras in hand for the whole performance. I approached Brian after the show to clarify that we didn't take any video, expecting an apology. Instead, he rudely insisted that we were trying to take video. They promote their ballroom as a venue for events but I would not recommend them for this purpose. Their staff comes across as unprofessional and disorganized. Furthermore, they stuff the ballroom beyond a comfortable capacity and it often feels crowded. If you are seeking a ballroom in the Bay Area, I recommend Premier Ballroom Studio in Fremont. read more

I've been hooked on Zumba ever since taking Eduardo's class at Mariner Square Athletic Club while he was there--I suppose I've "joined the party" as they would say in Zumba parlance. His class is high energy, entertaining, and as someone typically incapable of breaking into sweat I somehow manage in his class. Truly the best workout for me! I would give 10 stars if I could. Just be careful if he ever holds up an energy drink and warns that he's just consumed it :-) read more

The New Year's Eve party was outstanding. The decorations and the professional performances were already worth the price of admission. Throw in a delicious catered dinner with great music and it was definitely a night to remember. Even though the theme was formal black and white, the atmosphere was light and comfortable, with plenty of elbow room for all the guests. The event was not stuffy nor pretentious. Everyone in our party, dancers and non-dancers alike, had a great time and cannot wait to return next year. This ballroom is new, clean, and comfortable. Parking is not a problem and there is easy freeway access. If you are into ballroom dancing, this is a great place to learn, practice, and party. read more
