Wedding dance - A bride and groom are dancing together at a wedding reception, with the bride wearing a white gown and high heels, and the groom in a white jacket and black pants. They are holding hands and smiling at each other. In the background, a DJ is visible with equipment, and a young child is sitting on a chair. The setting appears to be indoors with a brick wall and a dark floor.

If you're looking for wedding dance lessons, Lucy is your girl! She's very experienced, can customize a dance to your wedding song, and is a true joy to be around. My fiancé and I reached out to Lucy with only 2 weeks left before our wedding but we were able to learn a whole dance within that time! The dance lessons were actually one of our favorite parts of the wedding planning process. We wished that we would have started earlier because we really looked forward to each lesson. Guests loved it, my fiancé and I loved it, and now we're open to taking more dance lessons! Just go for it.

A man and woman are engaged in a dance in a room with wooden flooring. The woman has long, wavy hair and is wearing beige pants and a brown top, while the man is dressed in a white t-shirt and dark pants. The room features a maroon wall with framed photographs, a window with curtains, and musical instruments in the background.

Lucy was amazing. My fiancée and I needed help coming up with some choreography for our first dance and she nailed it. We picked the song the day of our first lesson and she was able to immediately figure out what kind of dance would suit us. Within three lessons, we'd nailed it. The dance difficulty progressed with each lesson, tailored to our ability. Through it all, she was creative, supportive, and invested in our success. We had so much fun, we may go back after the wedding just for fun.

A bride and groom are dancing together at a wedding reception in a decorated indoor venue with large windows showing outdoor greenery. The bride is wearing a white dress and the groom is in a white shirt and light-colored pants. Guests are seated at tables, some clapping and watching the couple dance. The venue features draped curtains, string lights, and a chandelier, creating a festive atmosphere.

Lucy choreographed the most beautiful first dance for our wedding. Everyone LOVED our dance, and even our vendors said it was the best first dance they've ever seen. She was able to choreograph to our skill level and was such a joy to work with. Our weekly dance lessons were a highlight leading up to our wedding, and we're sad they're over! Thank you Lucy!!

A bride and groom are dancing together on a wooden deck at night during their wedding celebration. The bride is wearing a white wedding gown with floral details, and the groom is dressed in a light-colored shirt and dark trousers. String lights are hanging above them, illuminating the scene, while guests are seated in the background, watching the couple dance. The setting appears to be outdoors, surrounded by tall trees.

My fiancé and I came to Lucy a little more than a month before our wedding. She choreographed a simple yet beautiful dance for us. We learned everything in three lessons and used a fourth lesson to really nail it. Learning with Lucy was very enjoyable and she was very patient with us. Even though neither of us are particularly good dancers, we had a great time learning from Lucy!

A man and woman are dancing in a room with wooden flooring and red-painted walls. The woman is wearing black high heels and a black dress, with her arms raised as she dances. The man is dressed casually in a short-sleeved, checkered shirt, shorts, and sneakers, holding the woman's hand. The room has a window with a beige shade, framed photos on the wall, and a sliding glass door leading outside. The ceiling has track lighting with multiple spotlights.

I did the 2 week intro class pass because it was the same price as a single drop-in. I really took advantage of it because I was taking classes back to back every single day for those two weeks. One Saturday I took all their morning classes. That's like 5 in a row. It was amazing. I had so much fun! There's like a 15 min break in between classes. I love every single class that I took! The only downside to this is I live so far (South Bay) so to beat traffic on weekdays I would come super early (around 2-3pm) and sleep in my car parked at the Trader Joe's parking lot and wait for their 4pm class. I even considered moving to Oakland just so I can start taking their classes again and be in a closer vicinity. I love what they stand for (body positivity). I love the staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. If you try one instructor and don't like their vibe or playlist, I encourage you to try another! There's always someone out there for you that fits what you're looking for. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish they had options for day passes. I wish I could come in for one day and take back to back classes again. Hoping they open a studio in the South Bay!!

Not sure if it is a women's only space, but definitely has that feel. There was a spiritual/therapy element to the class I tried that felt jarring to me to be sandwiched between upbeat sexy dancing - I go to a dance class to have fun and work up a sweat, not get a surprise therapy moment in the middle, but ymmv. The style is follow-along, eg you have to watch to know what steps to do, because there is little to no verbal instruction on the steps/dancing. I asked if they had any classes with verbal cueing and they said no, they "encourage movement over perfection." My real complaint though is that they are very big on inclusivity and in a lot of ways walk the walk, but not with their virtual classes. Virtual classes are an accessibility need for folks with various kinds of disabilities, chronic pain or chronic illnesses, who are immunocompromised, who have care-taking obligations and may not be able to leave the home, and more. The virtual offerings are just in-person classes being live-streamed and they don't translate that well. Especially with the lack of verbal cueing, which means you have to stare at the screen the whole time... Which is not a great modus operandi for dancing in general, and really doesn't work with moves that have you move to the side, turn around, etc.! It makes sense that it doesn't translate well because the classes are designed for the in-person experience, not for streaming. Streaming is an afterthought. It is just super disappointing that despite all the focus on inclusivity, they offer zero classes that are designed for a high-quality virtual learning experience. They refunded my membership when I complained about it, which I appreciated and is classy, but I'd love to see the focus on inclusivity actually include sick/disabled people and others who benefit from virtual offerings.

Parking is plentiful and provided. Good customer service is needed here. The person currently in charge of handling phone calls for people who call in was very rude to me when I called to find out details on the sound system for the room I would be deejaying. When I called the number listed on the website she answered and proceeded to chastise me for calling before business hours. She told me that no one does business at 7 a.m. in the morning and that I should know better than to call that early. I was expecting an answering machine like most businesses have. I was shocked at how she spoke so loudly to me. It was appalling how she repeatedly interrupted me blatently refusing to answer my question. I asked if I had the correct number. I almost thought I had the wrong number because her speech was so fast and pressured like a homeless person on drugs talking to an invisible person. It felt as if I had reached a payphone by accident in a bad part of town. It was really awful. All I needed to know who is what kind of sound system the room came with. It was a pretty standard procedure phone call for a DJ to make but I'd never have been treated so unprofessional and rudely and in such a strange way over the phone or in person. I never found out the true answer to my question about the sound system. She ended up answering the question and having it delivered to me through a third party and the answer was that everything I would need would be set up for me in the space. When I arrived for my gig there were no working speakers or sound system. There was an amp that did not work. The floors in the room were dirty which was dissapointing because our dancers needed clean floors. We were cleaning the floors on our hands and knees because the maintanence man vanished with his broom. I saw her for less than five minutes the day of my gig and she was berating someone profusely for bringing a small live plant into the building. They kept apologizing as she threatened to raise their cleaning fees an extra 150 dollars. Naturally I did not introduce myself or ask for anything I needed, seeing as she was present only to bully, not to assist. I really hope that not everyone has this kind of experience with her because this is a space that really deserves to be supported. That said, No one deserves to be treated unprofessionally So just be aware and good luck.
