well I was looking for a place to get a decent hair cut I came across Ryan's barber online so I…read more decided to try them out I came in on a Saturday I have long hair on the top and short on the sides I came in for a simple fade on the sides I did not ask for him to shape my beard but he did it any way ain't ask how I wanted it or anything just did what he wanted cut my mustache to short the blade was dull not smooth at all and on top of that it's uneven it wasn't until I got home and put my hair up I noticed he missed a spot it was about 3 inches long so I called him up explaining to him the situation he said no big deal I'm closed on sunday but I live in my shop just call and come in and will get you squared away so Sunday comes I called 6 times no reply I will not be returning ever again 30 bucks and a tip was not worth the service I received also had to goto another barber to get my hair and beard fixed and I know we all have bad days I understand that but if he had been a man of his word and fixed it the next day I wouldn't be writing this review just look at the photos

Decided to try a little barber around the corner! My son styles his hair pushed back with the back being short and front being long. He told barber to cut the back and trim an inch to an inch and a half off the front. The barber cut almost 3 inches off the front. I sat blown away at how much he cut, but said nothing. My son's face said it all. I was very proud of him for keeping quiet and being respectful. When the barber "finished", he picked up the remaining front (which was one length, blunt cut sitting on my son's eyebrows at this point) and asked if my son wanted MORE off. ME: No! You cut too much off already. BARBER: (quite snarkily) I did what he told me. ME: No you didn't. He told you to cut an inch to an inch and a half off the front. You cut 2 1/2 - 3. BARBER: I NEEDED to get it OUT OF HIS EYES. ME: You cut the entire "STYLE" of his hair out. It's now a blunt cut. You didn't do what he asked. BARBER: That's NO style. I've been cutting hair for years. I know what I'm doing. WHO wears their hair that long? It needed to get out of his eyes. That was a woman's hair cut. ME: Are you serious? He doesn't wear his hair in his eyes, he wears it pushed back. Now I know why people bring their sons to stylist not barbers. BARBER: Just get up and leave. ME: Absolutely! No problem. Seriously? Are you kidding me? At first I thought it might have been a misunderstanding. That's happened before. After the very unprofessional tone and attitude it was clear to myself and my son that the barber decided this young kid's hair was not a style that he approves of and took it upon himself to CUT IT HOWEVER HE PLEASED! Now mind you ... it's just hair and it will grow back. It's not the end of the world. Just want to let anyone who reads this review know you may walk out with a cut you didn't ask for! Lolol!! My son is very annoyed, but he proved how awesome a young man he is when he gritted his teeth and remained respectful as he watched an ole man cut off 6 months worth of growth ... I don't live in town anymore and I've tried local barbershops, and I'll say it's totally worth the 30 mile commute for me. This is your typical old school barber shop, it is not a salon. Small, three chairs, good conversation. Hot shaving cream and a straight razor for the back of your neck. Great atmosphere. It also has a good location in Hammond across from Albertson's. Over the years, five different people have cut my hair here. There are three regulars right now, Marion, Ryan, and Matt. They're all great, no waiting for your favorite, feel confident with any of them. The owner, Andy, did his work on me a few times before he retired and of course did a perfect job. A couple years ago I walked in and was surprised to see a new face. As this new guy is cutting my hair, he says his name is Zack and he's not a barber. He works in construction, and just does this on the side. Granted, that made me nervous, but Zack was as good as any of them. He ended up cutting my hair 2-3 times, each time flawless. My point is that a barber shop is only as strong as its weakest link, since I'm not the type to tell someone "No I'm waiting for the other guy", and this shop has no weak links. Oh and haircuts are only $13. Great price, especially since they're so good.
