The Gallery is an exciting place that contains Bill's art library of books and tastefully displayed art of not only his works, but so many other talented artists. The paintings change frequently so every visit may be a different experience. Bill and his wife Linda are helping to put Caledonia on the map as an art destination. Their first community art show last fall helped to showcase the many talents of local artists. In April, the next community show will bring together area photographers. The rooftop has solar panels- there will be food and drink up there once the weather warms up. 2nd floor has a cycling/spin room that has bikes that generate electricity and show how much you are generating. There are 2 wind turbines right behind the building. The plan is to have the entire building operate on alternative / renewable energy sources. There is an atrium and skylight in the center of the building with a grow wall with plants. Local artists' work adorns the walls. Plenty more to say and see here- come check it out!

All the art in this display is created by immigrants living in the Rochester community. They are from various countries. They share their culture and hardships, and this is reflected in their art. Some of it is very heartbreaking. But then so is what immigrants are facing in our political climate of 2026. This display will be up until November 14, 2026. Admission to the small museum is only $2. The staff there was happy to chat with us. Very welcoming. I highly recommend this art museum.

The staff was wonderful and you can tell they took pride and loved the arts. They have many activities on a rotating basis where you can stay in the know by signing up for their emails. I was in town for a short visit but would definitely make an effort to visit if I'm back in the area.

With five floors of beautiful local art, ranging from sculpture to print to pottery and beyond, the Hungerford First Friday is a feast for the eyes. The artists in Rochester are unbelievably talented and there is nothing more inspiring than seeing it all come together in one place. I purchased some coasters and a sticker from PS Enjoy Your Life and can't wait to go back and buy more from them on my next visit. There is a TON of Rochester inspired art throughout this building, which always gives me the warm fuzzies. The building is very old, a bit rundown, and HOT. Honestly, it didn't bug me at all and added to the experience for me. It was like being a part of history unfolding. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by for a first Friday. I guess January is a little less popping (understandably so as these makers just came off a busy time), so I am looking forward to experiencing a more buzzy atmosphere in Feb!

It's amazing what hidden gems are tucked away in Rochester. I would have never known about this side street gallery had it not been for the invite I received to an event there. It's a great venue for a cocktail party - there are two rooms and could comfortably fit at least 50 people. There's a projection screen too if need be. If not for a party, you're welcome to visit the gallery during open hours. There was some impressive work displayed when I visited. What a great opportunity for the RIT students to be able to feature their hard work to the local community in the Neighborhood of the Arts. Parking can be a challenge if you don't land a spot on the College Ave. Village Gate parking lot is the next best spot, but you'll have to walk a bit to get there.

Came here with a six year old first time visitor. When we got our tickets the staff member suggested we do one of their scavenger hunt's. That was a big success., we did the horse one inside and the metal sculptures outside. Great way to keep kids engaged. Loved the Picasso and the progressive proof exhibit in the Lockhart gallery. Had to make sure I visited my favorite paintings including anything by Monet . Great outside area with different sculptures in the garden and surrounding pathways.

I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for an interesting location to take pictures. A few years ago I went inside the gallery and saw all of the art which was very eclectic and eye catching. A gorgeous, historical must see sight if you're visiting Rochester. It's also an unexpected gem of a place for photoshoots.

Anderson Alley is my favorite spot to go for First Friday and/or Second Saturday. It has a great…read moregroup of local artists, entrepreneurs, and one of the hidden gems of Rochester, the local military museum. I stumbled across it during one of their 2 (I think) annual open houses (which I believe are on a First Friday with extra hours). The military museum is awesome, the guys who run it are awesome, and they have awesome stories. Every time I go in there I talk with them for a while and hear more and more stories of where all the materials in there came from. The different galleries and spaces are excellent too. So many talented people and a great place to go get gifts for any reason. Its not just art, there are so many different things that are made in there from clothes to crafts to...well...you name it. Definitely one of the places that more people in the city should check out.

Anytime we visit Rochester, we have to visit the Eastman Museum. It's a great museum, featuring not…read moreonly the permanent exhibit, the house, the outdoor garden but also the rotating exhibits. Everyone is also very nice and welcoming. I absolutely love photography so I love seeing the old pictures and the cameras that took them. It's so cool to see the evolution of the camera. They also have a few movie cameras too. They also had a whole wall displaying the colors used when Technicolor was first introduced. I also like seeing how much better pictures got over time too. When we visited recently, there was a wonderful exhibit that I absolutely loved. It combined my love of flowers, horticulture and photography. It was so cool that this man grew these beautiful tall flowers across a large portion of his property and photographed it all. He also created some other beautiful pieces. I especially loved three large panels. While touring the house, you see many fascinating items from Eastman's life. It's a beautiful home. You can just imagine the parties he must have hosted there. I would love to have attended a party that he had in his dining room. He had some beautiful things. the foyer where you go to the other rooms or upstairs. He had some interesting artifacts too like his pipe organ that had around 6k pipes. I bet it sounded amazing because there were also buttons that made it sound like a whole orchestra. The gardens there are absolutely beautiful when not under construction. They have so many wonderful varieties of flowers and other plants. I can't wait to go back and see it after the construction is done. There was also a beautiful picture of Macchu Picchu outside. If you love photography, you must visit. They have a nice gift shop too.

If you're one of the world's richest men, how do you design your home? It turns out, George Eastman, best known for earning camera patents and running a multi-million dollar international firm, had a wild and wacky side. Who else would install not just a cathedral-style Wurlitzer near the central stairwell, but hire an organist to play it every morning at 08:00 as an alarm clock? He once took an African safari and decorated his home liberally with the mementos: An elephant's head is in place of pride in the atrium. Eastman's mother lived to an advanced age, and had her own wing in the house. For me, this was some of the most interesting and personal parts of the house. Her bedroom window had the best view of the formal gardens below. The nurse's quarters were adjacent to hers. The state of the art wheelchair was on display, and looking into the medicine cabinet (behind glass) were the medicine bottles she used. Raise your hand if you're surprised morphine was there? Except for the china pattern, the piano, and the furniture, Mrs. Eastman is almost invisible. Perhaps that was her preference. In summer the gardens are open to the public. There's a gallery/ photography museum next to the house on the first floor; the price of admission is covered in the same visit fee. Seniors, students, children have discounted ticket prices.
