She…read morehas a very patient and engaging personality and is quite talented in helping you design the best pottery pieces, even if you are at beginner level. We really enjoyed our conversation with her and learning how to "throw pots". It's great that she will arrange to have the pieces glazed per our color choices and shipped to us at a later date. This is something that we would definitely return to for our next trip to the finger Lakes.

Her enthusiasm and joyful personality made it an incredibly fun, informative and productive experience!! We both went in, very dubious about our pottery abilities, but she was patient and so helpful that we both made many pieces that came out so much better than we expected. Unfortunately our time restraints couldn't let us finish our pieces, but Laura finished and fired our pieces and happily shipped them to us. We were delighted and surprised to see how beautiful they all were when we unpacked them. I'd highly recommend her classes to anyone in the area, or traveling to the area!! You won't regret it!!

In the years since covid, the FCAC has not only survived, but they have thrived! Thanks in large part to a generous and supportive community of members and students, luck with grants, and a dedicated staff, they have weathered two leadership changes, have innovated with online course offerings and collaborations, and have upgraded the facility's security and air exchange systems to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students, teachers, members, staff and community attendees. Nonprofit art centers like Flower City are the backbone of ROC, and make it the cultural beacon that it is. I hope to someday become a member and make use of this facility on a more regular basis.
