I am doing my review of my Junk King experience a few years late, having horrible moveout experience with a former landlord and writing a review on it made me think, I should write the opposite for decent companies like Junk King that were good to me. My Junk King experience wasn't flawless in spite of the max rating. They were late on arrival, due to bad luck, traffic, a van breaking down I think one hour and 45 minutes before the time they originally said they would arrive. They did however give me timely updates on things, so I am willing to be understanding on things that were out of their control. They were really great when they arrived, fast efficient, courteous and professional! The one thing I really liked about Junk King and that prompted me to write the review was how they discounted my bill at different times, when I was throwing away something valuable. You see, much of the compensation they get, their bonus so to speak comes from picking up useful stuff from themselves by doing their job. Anyway, I was throwing out some good stuff and my bill did get marked down a lot from that I think I ended up paying less than half of the estimate. (I was quite happy at the time, but even more happy in retrospect when a former landlord / Property management company did opposite to me from useful stuff left over in a messy apartment that I knew for a fact that it's main workman wanted or could use. They charged me big bucks, for leaving light weight computer and consumer electronics, prompting me to write a bad review of my total experience with them and all their past failings etc.) Anyway, I had fond memories of my one-time experience with Junk King and would gladly use them for future removal services if I continued to live in the area, so I recommend them for folks living in the greater Charlotte area. read more

Scheduled an appointment for a 3-5 pm window. Got a call at noon saying they were on thier way. I informed them that the appointment was from 3-5 pm and they said they thought it was 1 pm. I asked them could they still make it at the agreed upon 3-5 pm because I was currently at work. They said yes they could make it. The next call I got was at 5:30pm saying they were on thier way. I told them to not bother, that I had given the job to someone else. Never use this service. read more

The Junk King guys were great, very professional and courteous. They took all of our unwanted items out with care, especially a big item that was hard to remove and made it look easy. I've never called a junk removal company before but when my chest freezer died I called Junk King. They were good in every way. The person who scheduled me (for the morning the day after my call) was courteous and professional. The driver called before coming and they were exactly on time. Both men were nice and had a good sense of humor (I guess you have to in that line of work!) The freezer was a bit difficult to remove but they cheerfully took care of it. Easy to get an estimate online and schedule a time frame and specific day. I'm a pretty skeptical person but these guys were awesome. They showed up within the time frame, was pleasant and professional, and worked in a quick and efficient manner. Price was as estimated so no surprises there. Was happy they offered removal service per piece instead of quoting a portion of a truck. They do offer full truck removals but in our case we just had a couch and club chair removed. I called Junk King to haul away some items that I could not take with me when I moved. I had just finished paying my 4 movers $700, who had worked for 7 hours moving my entire house when the "Junk King" arrived. The items that I wanted removed were all stacked neatly in my driveway. The Junk King knew that I was closing on my house the next day, so I HAD to get this stuff off of my driveway ASAP! He told me that he wanted $800!!!!!! My mover overheard him, and couldn't bear to watch the Junk King take advantage of me by ripping me off like that, so my mover told the Junk King that he would take care of it, and sent him on his way. My mover & I spent less than 1 hour loading up his truck, and the job was done...for FREE!!! Thank God there are still honorable, GOOD people in this world! Two stars because the two gentlemen were polite- otherwise it would be a 1 star. This is the company for you if you are affluent and have money to give away. I dug up my bushes in the front yard and got them to come out to give me a quote. They quoted me for over $500.00 for what equates to two pickup trucks of brush. When asked what they would take away for 200.00 and they said a quarter of the brush (wouldn't that equal 800.00 for the entire load). I had stacked all the brush neatly in the back yard. Nevertheless I told them to have a great day. Two days later I rented a budget truck and dropped my brush at the landfill. I did it by myself and was done in less than 2 hours. I spent 30 if those minutes waiting for my budget truck. When I was done I paid under 50.00 for the truck and disposal fee. If you are desperate try a handyman or post on a neighborhood app. Don't give this company your business unless you have to as a last resort. read more

The two gentlemen that picked up two dressers, mirror and queen size bed frame from my 3rd floor apartment were professional and friendly. Shady is all I can say. I was quoted a price of $60-$99 to take a love seat. The rep on the phone said this would fit in the requirement. As a just incase I added an ottoman to the order. That would fall below the $149 rate. I opted not to have the ottoman taken so just the couch was the only thing the guys took. He told me $118. I asked him why the price difference...he said "cause we had to go up steps" - Are you kidding me?????? Your rep knew this when I reserved online then called to confirm. Shady company. read more

I'm really not sure who's showing up for all these 5 star reviews but it certainly wasn't the two surly gentleman that arrived very late to my place to move a medium amount of remodeling debris. So this run down U-Haul van pulls in and one the most unfriendliest guys I have come across gets out assesses the debris, tells me what he won't take and gives me his price which was a good bit higher than I was expecting. As I ask more questions about what they'll take I occurs to me that I can have a dumpster dropped for a week for this price even though I'd barely fill it, plus I wouldn't have the mystery of what I might be left with still on my driveway at the end. I told him thanks but no. I ended up hiring Clutter Me Not who were awesome , friendly ,professional and half the cost of Junk King. I'm sure JK have some awesome guys and maybe these were having a bad day but it certainly put me off for good. read more
