My experience with Junk Gone Today deserves WAY more than five stars! We're in the process of cleaning out our house and had decades worth of old furniture, boxes, toys, you name it, from three different floors. I could not be more pleased with the service we received if I tried! My dealings with Mark were courteous and professional, and he worked with me to set up a convenient time. On the day of the appointment, Eric (the owner!) showed up himself to do the inspection well before the end of our time window and quoted us an extremely fair price. Latrelle and his team showed up 20 minutes later and cleared out EVERYTHING within 2 hours, all while being so friendly. They took extreme care not to damage walls or doorways, navigating around corners and up and down sets of stairs, and cleared out more than we could have ever thought possible. As if that weren't enough, they swept up the leftover debris afterwards! I have used other junk removal services in the past that were more expensive, less timely and way less professional. Very unprofessional Had a crew come to remove items from our basement. We tagged EACH item with a bright green sticker that we wanted removed. They told my husband they were finished and he paid them the agreed price in cash. Unfortunately he wasn't able to check their work before they left and they left several items (still tagged). We called and the owner was extremely apologetic and said he would send someone back at 9:00 next morning. No one showed up. I called again and was told we didn't answer the door when they came and didn't answer the phone when they called. Wrong. No one came - we were in the garage with contractors all morning. No one called. Went back and forth on the phone with the owner. He finally agreed to a partial refund. I texted him my Venmo account as he requested. It was heavier than expected - so it cost me a little more ($175 total -- that includes $40 for the extra weight) but I was happy to spend it. Three guys on the crew. They were fast. Called this company because they advertised same day pickup. Spoke with Eric who said yes, he could come today and do the pick up. He even texted me a confirmation that he would arrive between 2 and 4 PM. I texted him back with pictures of the items for pick up. At 4;30 when he had neither called, texted or shown up I called him to find out if he was coming reminding him that he had made an appointment for between 2 and 4. He acted like he had never heard of me or the appointment before. Asked me again where I lived and where the items for pick up were located. It was fairly obvious he had completely forgotten about the appointment in the space of a few hours. At that point I told him not to bother to come that I would get someone else. What an awesome service this company provided us yesterday. We had a big mess in a basement, some stuff on the first floor and a few things outside. They came with 2 trailers, gave me a price and the guys did all the work. I can't say how great it was to have this basement empty. I will be using them again this year to empty a storage unit. Just like the advertisement, "they really were cheaper then us getting a dumpster ourselves and doing the work ourselves". Very nice group of guys!!! Excellent work. I wish I could give this company a positive review, but they didn't show up. I chose this company because it is close to my apartment. I scheduled junk removal with them for this past Friday..... no show. I called them yesterday to see what happened to them and was told that the appointment didn't sync to the calendar. I will say he was very apologetic so I decided to give the company another chance, that was a mistake. He stated that he could come that day since it was so close; they were supposed to show up between 4pm and 5pm yesterday..... didn't show AGAIN. As I explained to the guy (Derrick or Eric) on the phone, I am moving in two weeks and need these things removed. i was very disappointed...they were so unprofessional and not up front until the job was done about cost and labor. i had a wealth of stuff that was in good conditon and i was told i wasn't going to get a break on the final price as they had to take the stuff and plug it in or some such rot to see if it all functioned properly...and so they couldn't give me a deal right then and there. while i was in the front room my sister found that they were throwing stuff out the back bedroom window to the waiting truck below....not caring if anything might break in the fall. they had ripped the screen out to do it and when they tried to stuff the screen back into place they cracked the frame and the owner tried to tell me that it was in that condition before his man pulled it out. after arguing with the owner he then conceded to go out and buy a new frame and put it in himself. when i had to sign on the dotted line he also said there was an extra $10 fee for using a credit card instead of a check or cash....i think he just tapped that on to cover the cost of the screen that his worker broke. in total it cost me $385.00 bucks and the owner said i was getting a bargain as he didn't charged me tax.....this was a very shady outfit and i wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

Told me they were going to show up and I waited 3 hours for them an no one came. They never called me so I finally called them back and they said they were not going to be able to make it that day but they would come at noon the next day. The next day at 11:30 am, I called them to check if they were coming. They told me they were on their way and would be at my house at 12:15 pm. At 1:30 pm I called them again to see what was going on. I was told they were on West 117th street just pulling onto 90 and they would be at my house in 10 minutes. Around 2:00 pm, I got a call from a woman telling me the truck broke down on its way to my house and they were not going to make it. She wanted to reschedule. They told me they would be at my house first thing in the morning at 8 am on Monday. It is currently around 9 am Monday morning and I haven't heard anything from them. If they are unable to come to my house at a certain time or just don't want to do the job, that would be fine with me if they just told me. I don't know what kind of business they are running but I would not suggest anyone do business with them. read more

The owner and associate removed a piano from my front porch and heaved it, instead of carrying it down my front steps. The piano hit the bottom step as it crashed onto my front lawn and broke the bottom step in half. Both the owner and the helper denied they broke the step and argued with me for a good 10-15 minuted until the owner, Eric, finally admitted that the piano did in fact cause the broken step. He told me at that time he'd have the step replaced within 5 days. After at least 5 phone calls, and him telling me he was definitely going to have it fixed by August 26th, the step still has not been fixed. I put my house up for sale today which he was aware I was doing. The listing picture of the front of the house shows the broken step. I have to fix it to sell the house and he's just giving me the run around. This guy just lies and is absolutely unprofessional and irresponsible. BBB was notified. read more
