If not, you might want to take another look. In the downtown area, a lot of work has gone in to preserving old historic buildings. Back in the 90's, Woodward was also known as the "sixth grade center" where kids from all the neighboring elementary schools were bussed for that one year of their education before graduating to middle school. The buildings were old and FULL of character. Today, those buildings are repurposed into different things-it's no longer the campus for just one school. The grounds are immaculately kept and you'll find a lovely water feature, art exhibits and even a carousel in the park. Take a walk across the street to Judd's store. That old building houses some of the finest treats and breadsticks in town. It's surrounded by other historic buildings as well. Lot's of Mormon pioneer history down here.
