The place is right on the upper end of the "Royal Mile" and we could hear bag pipes from the streets while we ate. It's very clean and has three dining floors and is much larger than it looks from the outside. They have an incredible bar and a wide selection of beer, wines and whiskeys. The food was excellent, especially the tomato soup and the smoked salmon. The bill for three people, including a few drinks and dessert was right at one hundred dollars. Extremely reasonable for the location and high level cuisine.

Food, "Meh I've experienced FAR better". Don't come here if you like your food. I won't be coming back. it was edible but i could go the extra mile and it would be sensational! I bit into a "sausage" and it wasn't appealing - the quality was water. The mossaka was eh not a tad on my sister in laws which is proper greek and now I want some of her to make me feel better. The Dj was shouty, very shouty with the microphone. thank goodness for my hearing aids as i could turn down the shouty ness!! Toilets were a sorry state. With 2, yes 2 functions on the same floor you would think the priority was to have all toilets on working order. with one out of order and toilet rolls at the sink getting wet. it's a small space for ladies to washhands and dry them and try and get out. I been here once before for a wedding reception and can't remember it being that bad. I won't be recommending the food from now on, it would be shameful if i did. The seating arrangements were comfortable and the dance floor was big enough, hence 2 stars. Meh, I've defo experienced better - hence the early departure!

My boyfriend and I went there earlier today for lunch, their luch menu's really good value compared to the regular prices on the menu for the dishes that are on it. The only bad thing was that we both asked for Diet Coke's when our waiter came to take our drinks order, but they still hadn't came when he came back for us to order our food or when the starters came! A group of people at a table nearby were also complaining about this. After the wait, they brought the Diet Coke's - 2 glasses with ice and 2 cans of Diet Coke!! Not sure what took so long to get them but the food was really nice! I had the mozzarella and tomato salad for my starter, it had a pesto sauce drizzled over it, they had been really generous with the amount of pesto and it tasted fantastic! For my main I chose the chicken goujons with garlic mayo dip, they were really nice and had a lot of flavour. We'd been several times with my family but this was our first time trying the lunch menu, we'd definitely go back again to try more from the menu, it's really good value too!

Carpaccio was hard to eat because it appeared to be a single piece rather than sliced, which I'm used to. Between the four of us we had the steak, hake fillet, risotto, and potato and leek soup. Everything was solid. Nothing blew us away but it was a great meal overall. And OMG the sticky pudding for dessert was incredible! Highly recommend.

With its nautical decor and lovely restaurant space, it stands out for the better on Dalry Road. The staff are friendly, attentive and although it's normally fairly busy, there's a relaxed atmosphere. Their menu is impeccable and also slightly more unusual than some of the Scottish fayre you find served up in Scotland's capital. They do a great sirloin steak in here made with Aberdeen Angus, but there are also some more unusual options that you don't see on menu's often, such as Middle Eastern platters. It is highly acclaimed by Edinburgh critics and with its veggie, Thai and other such exotic options, a very unusual and great dining experience. Not to be missed.
