We got our own little room that was just big enough for our booth for 5. Complimentary Bread was delicious Special salad that came with the meals was good- the little pieces of Italian sausage & slices of egg made it better. I had 1/2 lasagna & 1/2 mostaccioli- lasagna was large & delicious. Mostaccioli was just cheap pasta with red sauce dumped on it. Wife had a nice steak w/ a side of fettuccine Alfredo instead of potato that looked very good. Son had just lasagna & his full large portion was enormous but he ate it all. Another son had a fish dinner w side of Alfredo. The last son just ordered the fettuccine Alfredo & added 2 meatballs that weirdly came in a red sauce, he didn't care just dumped it right on top of his Alfredo. A nice touch was-Everybody gets a scoops of ice cream after dinner, they had 5-6 choices. Everything was good-very good I'd recommend the lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo definitely the salad & bread. Negatives would be the only phone reservations & the price is high for just noodles & sauce. Bill was $160 for 5 dinners & 3 lemonades. So after tip around $200

I do love their pastas I did take also my mom's friends but they stayed so short in Galena for a two and a half hour drive. Anyways this is memorial Day and I don't have family anymore and I decided to go to Galena Illinois it's very quaint and feels like Gettysburg this restaurant that I went to I really love their Italian food was very busy regards to the ambience but I like how there's different floors and it has that old civil war 1860s feel. Other than that do come here again and try to explore Galena and all the other antique shops and one of a kind small shops for specialties

Children are welcome and there is a limited menu for them as well. But, when you are paying these prices, you expect a little bit more than what VV's has to offer. First, the toasted ravioli's are clearly mass-produced and just heated at the restaurant. Then, people must love the idea of salad and garlic bread (like the OG), but this is not a great offering. The bread is like that you would get at a pizza place with your order of pasta and the salad is literally swamped in onions and dressing. The pasta is house made, and fine, but that was about all that was okay. The veal marsala is just odd. The sauce is the consistency of a thick, brown gravy and it just serves to disguise the over-cooked meat. At over $100 for one adult and two kids, you'd be better-off elsewhere. Extra star for the wonderful service from Gracie.

Was disappointed by the truncated menu…read moreas the dishes I was looking forward to were not available, but I understand they were expecting to be super busy. Food was good not great. Service was the same, had to ask for napkins and a steak knife as they were not brought to us. We our server was very sweet. The bruschetta and oysters Rockefeller were the stand outs-- so good! Both our mains were a bit disappointing. The cook on my husband's steak was incorrect and it had zero char-- pretty much totally gray. My risotto was undercooked with a bit too al dente rice and watery sauce. It also was underseasoned. However the seafood was great so I ate that without hesitation. I keep saying I like but don't love Francesco's, and for dinner for $275 for two people in Rockford, I just expect better quality if we're going to be paying downtown Chicago prices. I would go back but it's not going to be a meal I seek out.

When we have out-of-town guests, this is the place we will take them. It's a place I would be proud to take them. It's literally the only place I've been to that I can say that about. All the food is great: from the salmon to the chicken to the pizza to the pasta .... The service is great: helpful, nice, don't rush you out.... The facility is nice: very comfortable with gorgeous architecture and furnishings. This is at the top of our rotation....
