While they are very busy they do try to fit your child in for emergency care and are accommodating. I like the compassion of the assistants, reception, and the dentist as well. Dr. Reis is hands-down the best dentist! She is my family's dentist, and they truly loved how she…read moreplanned their treatment and communicated with them. Her care is very personal, and she took the time to explain the treatment plan, and took into consideration their personal preferences when working on their treatment. She is also extremely caring and you can tell she has a genuine interest in improving her patients' quality of life. Dental health is one of those things we sometimes take for granted, and don't realize how impactful it is when we lose it. I've recommended her to all my friends. She makes me super motivated to go to the dentist. I would 100% recommend her to anyone, especially if you're in need of additional procedures beyond a standard check-up, she will work with you to ensure that your preferences are heard and honored. She also is VERY detail-oriented in her work. The office staff was extremely kind as well, and the dental hygienist did an exceptional job!

My family of 3 (4 w my sister) are all leaving despite having gone here for many years. There are…read moresome great dentists & assistants but also some that are way too inexperienced (eg not knowing how to do an X-ray). They have gotten WAY too expensive & blame it all on insurance. You used to be able to get in for emergencies but no more. Then they started doing "the special conversation" about $ before treating you. They're way overbooked & just here to turn us around faster for the money now. Sad bc there really are good dentists there (avoid the newer ones if you do decide to go here after all this). But the office staff-wow has that gone downhill. There is one competent friendly person there (long dark hair glasses), give her a raise. Recently I tried to make an appt & they kept insisting they had just seen me & there was nothing they could do, despite saying it was a DIFFERENT TOOTH, this happened w 2 different people. I had to wait so long to get in for severe tooth pain (a week) it had died down & I just managed as best u could with old meds. But I still wanted to go to find out what was wrong so I went. They lost my appt. I could wait for what could be hours Or book for the next day. In taking to the woman I explained at this point I would prefer to just do it next week. We made the appt. They called yesterday to say i missed my appt (that isn't for another week). I was not surprised. I had to repeat myself several times to her & she was so out of it she couid barely function. I'll be charitable & say it was lack of caffeine. I didn't leave with any confidence that she was able to schedule a simple appt. & yup I was right. And please remember I took time out of my day to show up for the 1st appt that they failed to put in the calendar. Are you kidding me? I feel more comfortable going to some random place I don't even know now & that is saying something given I'm afraid of dentists. We have to change all of our paperwork now too which is the only reason we've persisted so far. Good job losing loyal customers (& all the $ I've spent there). But it prob won't matter as you're just packing us in like cattle now. The predatory Sage model. If you made it this far I hope you know I'm only doing this to hopefully save someone else this aggravation & maybe get word to whoever runs the office-for the love of god-clean house. Don't reply with some empty "we hear you" message. I've said it here, you know what you need to & you're just replying BS here to look good "come talk to us" why? You won't change anything. People are smarter than that.

Has your child ever gone through something traumatic--something that, had you been given the chance…read moreto intervene, you would have stopped ? That is exactly what happened to my daughter here. And a month later, my stomach still turns when I think about it. From the very beginning, something never felt right. My motherly instincts always told me that the setup in this office was off. Children--including toddlers--are encouraged to go alone into an "open room" full of other kids to receive treatment, while parents are required to remain in the waiting room until everything is finished. Yes, there are private rooms, but only two children at a time are allowed to use them with a parent present--so if you have more than two kids, you're forced to split appointments across multiple days. I never felt comfortable sending my 2- or 3-year-old alone, so in the 2 visits we had here, I used a private room with her. But my older girls, ages 7/8 and 9/10, went into the open room together without me--because we were told that was the policy and that parents were not allowed to check on their children due to "HIPAA privacy." I've never heard such a justification at any other pediatric dental practice, and it never sat right with me. And then came the day everything confirmed those fears. On this particular visit, my 10-year-old daughter went in as usual while I stayed with my younger child. When the appointment finally ended and I was allowed back, I immediately saw that she was visibly shaken and had tears in her eyes from crying. I immediately asked if she was okay and asked the doctor what happened. The doctor casually told me that my daughter "lost a tooth during the cleaning." Which I didn't believe, So I said that I was unaware that her tooth was loose enough to pull since my husband checks it every night. But once in the safety of out car, away from the pressure and the eyes watching her, my daughter broke down and told me the truth: Her tooth did not just fall out. A hygienist used a tool and pulled it out with no topical anesthesia ; a tooth that was loose but not ready to come out on its own. They never sought my consent. They never informed me. They simply decided to do an extraction on a frightened 10-year-old child, alone in a room where parents are intentionally kept out. For a child who already struggles with trust around doctors and dentists, this was more than a misunderstanding--it was a betrayal. She felt scared, powerless, and misled. And as her mother, knowing this happened while I was feet away yet barred from checking on her is something that is so infuriating. This entire structure--isolating children, refusing parental access during treatment , minimizing or concealing what actually happens during treatment--creates an environment where this kind of incident becomes possible. I did speak with the clinical manager MJ right after the appointment and told her that I was very dissatisfied and very upset with how everything went . I was also charged for a tooth extraction on my bill even though they continued to stick with their story that the tooth just fell out. I also spoke to MJ through email hours later when my daughter's extraction sight kept bleeding and was not cloating. I did ask for the Dentist to give me a call because I was worried , but she never did, and never has . So I feel that I have done what I needed to do before leaving this review. Families trust pediatric providers with their most vulnerable little humans. This practice broke that trust with my daughter and me. Please don't let it happen to you.

What made…read morethis such a different experience then the last time we tried to find a new dentist was transparency resulting in trust. The last dentist we had tried in Wellington we felt they were trying to wrack up a bunch of unnecessary work, but with James Family Dentistry we saw clearly the issues with our own eyes as the dentist showed them in the mirror and explained each one. It was super clear, apparent and made common sense and the cleaning plan, repair plan and maintenance plan we were put on made us feel very good about the health of our teeth and our future going forward. Plus the pricing is fair! Thank you James Family Dentistry! Melinda and Brandon Niemela

For that reason, I've tried many dentists before settling on Dr. James' (husband and wife team). The staff (hygienists, front-office scheduling) is very receptive to people's needs and they have remained consistent for 5+ years. Everyone is down-to-earth and makes you feel at home. If you're a big wimp, like me, they take great care in reducing the pain. More than other dentists I've experienced in Palm Beach County. I originally found them through my dental insurance plan, which they've always honored without claiming that someone isn't covered, or is different, than what insurance allows. This is a huge problem with some dentists I've used, who would look for reasons to overcharge. After being a patient for 5+ years now, I am confident in saying that I feel they are some of the best dentists in the area. One sidenote: they are a relatively small office and their schedule seems very booked-up. Despite that, they've always been great about calling me when there is a cancellation.
