It's not a steam locomotive, you charge by the hour, if it's harder to work on charge more. I'm only leaving 3 stars since I didn't actually have work done by the shop so 1 feels unfair, but acting like it's hard to change the starter on a 1991 jeep Cherokee is insanity.

No other shops in town would touch something so old so James to the rescue. He was willing to try old fashioned fixes rather than just throwing parts at the car which I always appreciate. In the end his prices were fairly reasonable considering it's alaska, and he got my jeep back on the road! Only downmarks at all if you can call it that is sometimes communication can be a bit slow. But know I can be an over communicator so I'll share some blame there. Overall would recommend!

When I pointed this out to the owner, he pushed the broken pieces back into place, and told me "it's fine". At this point, unbidden the mechanic some over and said, "I didn't do that". I said ok but it wasn't broke when I dropped it off, and the owner told me to go to hell. I said I wouldn't be back, he said fuck you, he would write my name down so I couldn't come back. After just dropping 570 on a water pump. Easy as an apology and I would have been fine. What incredibly bad service.
