My daughter is only 12 years old, and today she had to have permanent veneers placed on her six front teeth because of the damage to them. As her mom, I am absolutely devastated. It was her first day of 7th grade and instead of celebrating a new school year, we spent 3 hours at the dentist office getting her teeth restored. What is especially difficult for me is that she has been seen monthly throughout her orthodontic treatment. At her routine dental appointment six months ago, her dentist said none of this damage was present. We were never given a recommendation to remove her braces by this orthodontist. Thankfully, we continued her regular dental cleanings. It was our dentist who discovered the extent of the damage and recommended that her braces be removed immediately. I hate to think about how much worse this could have become had we not gone in for that routine appointment. For her first set of braces, we went with Embrace Your World Orthodontics and had a much better and more professional experience. I'm sharing this because I wish someone had shared an experience like ours with me. As parents, we trust the professionals caring for our children to alert us when something is wrong and to help us protect their health. I only wish we had been given that opportunity sooner.

She then proceeded to tell me how much of an overbite I had and it's not guaranteed braces would fix it. She also rudely said I have a speech impediment and I needed to go to speech therapy!! After posting my review, I received several calls from Eureka Dental Group. First was from the…read morePatient Account Specialist and she did help explain the new charges but was still unwilling to give me an appointment until I gave them a "reservation fee" of $120. She said my crown was there but I could not get it until I paid her for a reservation. While I did have the money, I was unwilling to pay to make an appointment. I think their policy of paying to make an appointment is ridiculous and unheard of. There are simply way too many dentists in Eureka to have to abide by such a draconian policy. The second call I received was from the Office Manager, and she did seem to care about my frustrations and did agree to a payment plan to address the additional (hidden/uninformed) charges. She also lowered the reservation fee from $120 to $100. She explained the reservation fee would be applied towards my procedure; that they employ this concept on longer procedures to help ensure patients show up for their appointments. Although I emphatically disagree with the reservation fee concept, I did pay it (crown hostage fee) so I could make an appointment. Personally, I think Eureka Dental Group should adopt a no-show policy in line with other doctors that charge a no-show fee rather than charging a reservation fee. A couple of days later I received a call from Dr. Wehrmeister. He indicated it was his day off and he was calling because his Office Manager had informed him of my concerns and he wanted to try an address them. Dr. Wehrmeister seemed to genuinely care about my issues with Eureka Dental Group and I was impressed he took the time to call me on his day off to talk thru my recent experiences. After about a 20-minute conversation I felt comfortable Eureka Dental Group valued me as a patient and cared for my satisfaction, despite their unwillingness to concede the reservation fee policy. I went on about my day and received a second call from Dr. Wehrmeister about 15-minutes following our previous conversation. To my surprise, Dr. Wehrmeister said he talked with his Office Manager and they felt the fair thing to do was to pick-up my out of pocket increase that was not communicated to me until after the fact. This was one of my biggest concerns/complaints and I feel they have adequately addressed this concern. I first went to this dentist in 2018/19 and the care was great- very sensitive and knowledgeable…read morestaff. I returned in 2025 after moving back to STL, and had an absolute nightmare of an experience. I had two shallow cavities I did not feel- they filled them, and they were a little sensitive after so I brought it up at my next visit. The hygenist said it was because the filling had not cured correctly. They replaced the filling in one tooth, and the pain increased. I asked them to replace the filling in the other tooth, and the pain increased. I ended up needing a root canal in one of the teeth, which I got done at a seperate endodontist. I had the crown placed by Soulard, and got it adjusted by a different dentist. One of the dentists at Soulard had repeated difficulties getting me numb, which I have not experienced at a different dentist. I've had repeated trouble with cheek biting while chewing after getting the crown. This office does not have an emergency phone line and their office closed at one point due to a computer crash. I emailed the office about my concerns and did not recieve a reply. I would absolutely not reccomend them. Everyone is friendly, but after having my teeth looked at by other dentists/endodontists, it seems like either their equipment is not up to date enough to give a clear picture of tooth nerves or they are just not good at reading the various pictures/xrays. If you need anything other than a cleaning go somewhere else. I'm sorry to have to leave this review because previously I really liked going here. I hope they make changes to improve patient outcomes.
