Most of the time, they don't follow what they are asked, even when shown pictures as a guide, and mess up people's haircuts for at least the next few weeks. There have been numerous occasions where I have had to see another barber to fix my haircut after getting one here. Do yourself a favor, and do some thorough research before coming here. If you're looking for a standard haircut, this may be the place for you, but if you have very specific requests for your haircut (which most people do), try finding an individual barber who your friends/colleagues rave about and find out where they work - your future self will thank you. During every visit, there's been a HUGE pile of hair just swept to the corner and the stations weren't swept between every customer. There are places where hair is LITERALLY caked on the wood upholstery. I've never see such a dirty floor at visits to other shops throughout the country! Upon walking in, all I could do was pray that she would not mess up and oh boy was I wrong! I have had multiple occasions (at least 3) in which my haircut has been too short in places it shouldn't, when the barber didn't listen to my requests properly. Here at Great Clips Nassau Park blvd I consistently get a hair cut that makes me look my best. Of course the true test of a good hair cut is if it still looks good a day or two later. I really value the time Jenny takes to communicate and explain what I can expect and what my options are based on my history and goals. I have always wanted lighter hair but was always afraid of the potential damage of this process. Thankfully, Jenny always prioritized my hair health! It took us 3 sessions to get to my current goal of VERY light blonde and through it all, Jenny did what was needed to keep my hair long and strong. It felt easy to trust Jenny with my hair as she explained everything to me along the way. She's also very open to feedback so I was very comfortable letting her know when my color goals changed. She was very flexible and got me to my new goals. I absolutely love my new hair; there's so much depth and the colors of my hair blend so smoothly. I also really appreciate how seriously the salon takes COVID-19 protocols. They do not permit walk-ins and do not double book so there is never anyone waiting for a session in the salon. The chairs are well spaced out and they seem to plan it so that not all the chairs are occupied to maintain more than adequate social distancing. At arrival, customer temps are taken and we're instructed to wash our hands before taking a seat. Each chair is immediately wiped down after each service and masks are required while in the salon. I think it's great that they do everything they can to make the customers feel safe.

It's large and has a very open clean feel. Larissa does an impeccable job every time. This is a professional salon staffed with experienced stylists and worth every penny I've tried other places and La Jolie is top notch. You can feel safe here. When I showed up on May 10 at noon, I (and the salon staff!) was expecting an hour appointment. For reasons that were entirely my fault, my appointment turned into a three-hour affair. It took 3 hours because Marian was determined to make my hair look the best it could, and that required doing highlights first. Not only did she do a fantastic job, she took time out of her day (when she had her own event to prepare for!) adding ~2 hours to her workday. She graciously took the time to do it right, knowing how important the day was to me... She even went out to my car to put money in the meter! And she made me laugh the whole time. I cannot thank the crew at EY Staats enough for being so warm and welcoming. They truly made my day! And p.s. DONT do what I did-- make sure to do a dry run for your wedding day hair!!
