My experience with this clinic made me seriously question the integrity of some medical providers. I grew up in a family full of medical providers, so I've always had a lot of respect for them. But being told they "can't read" my scan files and that I needed to pay $450 for another CBCT scan was shocking. I had already taken the scan at another oral surgery clinic that turned out to be out-of-network. That's why I looked for an in-network doctor and ended up here. Before my first appointment, they asked me to bring the scan files. I even asked if there was a specific format they needed because I work with image files and know compatibility can matter. They brushed it off and told me to just bring them. I arrived with the USB and waited almost an hour, only to be told they couldn't read files from USB and needed them on a CD. Sorry, but are we in 2005? They "kindly" offered to take a new scan for $250. I had taken the scan only a week earlier, so I refused. I had to reschedule and even bought a CD burner on Amazon because the original clinic didn't have one. Before my second appointment, I called again to ask about file formats and told them the other clinic had also emailed the files. I even asked if they could call the other clinic since both clinics use the same medical imaging software, which I found very odd. THEY NEVER CALLED THE OTHER CLINIC AND APPARENTLY NEVER CHECKED THE EMAIL. They just kept saying it should work if it's on a CD. So I returned with the CD. After all that effort, they STILL said they couldn't read the files. And now the price for a new scan was suddenly $450. When I got home, I downloaded a free medical imaging viewer and opened the files immediately with no issue. Yes, I -- someone with no experience opening this type of medical imaging format -- was able to open them. I ended up booking another oral surgeon down the street who simply allowed me to upload my existing scans. I still can't understand why this clinic handled things this way. It felt like they cared more about charging for another scan than actually helping patients. Also, thanks for delaying my treatment for weeks and for trying to make me take another X-ray only a few weeks after the first one.

I was referred to this office by another dentist because I had an infected wisdom tooth and needed emergency treatment. I called as soon as the office opened, explained my situation, and was told to complete my paperwork and come in immediately. The doctor told me he would squeeze me in between scheduled appointments because it was an emergency. I arrived around 11:00 a.m., completed the check-in process, verified my insurance, and paid approximately $1,500 before my procedure. I was then told to wait. I asked how long the wait would be and was told it would probably be another two to three hours. I understood that emergencies can involve waiting, so I was patient. By around 3:30 p.m., I had been there for hours longer than the estimate I was given, so I went to the front desk to ask for an update. Instead of receiving one, I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing the staff simply by asking a reasonable question. One receptionist repeatedly interrupted me while I was speaking, dismissed my concerns, and responded in a way that came across as impatient and unconcerned. Rather than checking with the doctor, she repeatedly told me to sit down and wait. Earlier in the day, I had even asked if I could leave and come back later if the doctor was running behind. I was told I could not leave and that I needed to stay in the office until the doctor was ready. Because of that, I remained there the entire day. After I insisted that someone ask the doctor how much longer it would actually be, I was finally taken to a treatment room. At that point, I thought the procedure was about to begin. Instead, I waited for approximately two more hours. During that time, I had already been given medication and was sitting there in pain while repeatedly being told, "He'll be in shortly." The procedure itself was completed successfully, and I have no complaints about the surgical work. My complaint is about how my time and my concerns were handled. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and did not leave until approximately 7:00 p.m. The procedure was not performed until after the office had finished seeing its scheduled appointments. Unfortunately, the problems continued after surgery. I was discharged without the work excuse my employer required, even though the office later acknowledged that it should have been provided before I left. I then spent the next several days making repeated phone calls trying to obtain a work note and disability paperwork. I was promised callbacks that never happened, told documents would be emailed that I never received, and had to make multiple trips back to the office because paperwork was incomplete or not ready when I had been told it would be. One example that stood out was receiving a phone call at approximately 4:55 p.m. telling me my paperwork was finally ready for pickup--even though the office closed at 5:00 p.m. When I explained that it was impossible for me to make it there in five minutes, I was essentially told that I could either have it emailed or come back another day. It was the same dismissive attitude I had experienced throughout the entire process. This review is not about the outcome of my surgery. It is about the customer service, communication, scheduling, and the way I was treated as a patient. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office for anyone dealing with a dental emergency. My emergency was repeatedly placed behind scheduled appointments, I spent nearly eight hours in the office despite being told I was being "worked in," and I had to spend additional days chasing paperwork that should have been handled before I was discharged. If you have a scheduled appointment, your experience may be different. But if you are in severe pain and need emergency treatment, I would strongly recommend looking for an office that can provide more timely care, better communication, and more professional follow-up!

Apparently dentists don't like to accept medical insurance - only dental insurance. And when I pulled into Dr. Ruderman's office parking lot, I inwardly groaned. It's just not an attractive building, there's a dumpster in front of the building, and the concrete in the parking lot of cracked. The interior also looks like it hasn't been decorated in decades. BUT...! Dr. Ruderman was such a good doctor/dentist that I now understand the amazing reviews despite the dreary décor. It sounds silly writing this, but he actually read my medical chart, and asked me questions about it. We actually had rapport. Noticing my discomfort with the procedure, he joked around about my employer in the news and the terrible taste of the anesthesia. And when my medical results came in, Dr. Ruderman personally called me to inform me of the results (they were good) and explain what they meant. What a novel concept - I'm used to having to dial in myself and then listen to a prerecorded message. My only pang of sadness is that I live so far from Dr. Ruderman. If I lived closer, I would come to Dr. Ruderman for all my dental needs!

Dr. Borchers does all the dental work himself--no dental hygenists doing the grunt work--and his wife works the front desk. Both are extremely attentive and have the friendly warmth of grandparents. The office is clean, updated, and comfortable, with a spacious waiting room. I was able to make an appointment for a cleaning (my first visit)only about a week and a half in advance, which was awesome. Dr. Borchers took me on time and did a very thorough, gentle job and explained what he was doing in more detail than I've ever heard before, which was really interesting and conveyed the depth of both his knowledge of and real interest in dentistry. He found 2 cavities (that's what I get for avoiding the dentist for so long) and showed me on the x-ray how he spotted them, what was causing them, and how he could tell which was more urgent. All that, and I was still out in just over an hour. Important to note, they only take cash or check, so come prepared, and they don't take insurance but will give you the paperwork that will allow you to report it on your own so you still get the deductions from your insurance company.
