They give you a decent window of time in the AM and PM to drop off and pick up your pup so it's convenient for everyone. He was a little nervous on his first day but quickly warmed up to his trainer, Dakota. At the end of each week, you go in and are given a lesson going over what your dog has learned. Sit, lay, heel and place are just a few of the commands he learned. Our walks are MUCH calmer and we work on what he learned often. The staff is awesome, the place is clean and all in all I think it was worth the time and $ spent. They also have other programs depending what you're looking for.

After the very first visit, I was astonished and how well my 6-month-old Golden Retriever responded. It was an investment that has give me a return of more than I could have ever dreamed of. I know that I have Doug's support throughout Zahra's lifetime and that, to me, is priceless. In my opinion, you will find none better than Doug with Bark Busters. Zahra and I are forever grateful we found him through the recommendation of my nephew, who used Doug for help with his Giant Schnauzer. You will not be disappointed, I can promise you that!

WORTH EVERY PENNY AND ASTONISHINGLY FAST!…read more Doug Rountree with Bark Busters of Louisville is fantastic! In the first hour, he completely changed the way we interact with our dog. Before we began the training, our puppy was lovable but demanding and thought she was in charge of our whole family. Practically 90% of her behavior problems (like mouthing/biting, barking, jumping on people, pulling) are virtually gone in less than a day! The rest are already much improved and I'm sure those will continue to get better as we reinforce our expectations with her. Our home is a much more peaceful, enjoyable place and our pup definitely seems happier and less stressed now that we have set clear, consistent rules in a language that she can understand. I love that it's done without treats or physical correction but instead uses how dogs naturally communicate to change behavior. Thank you Doug!

Our 5 yr old dog was pulling me during walks, was very excitable when we had people over, would not stay out of the kitchen & pestered company for food as we ate. Amazingly, all of these issues were addressed & Tuck is simply much more pleasant to take walks with, have others into our home & I can even cook in peace. Tuck is very responsive to the commands that Justin taught him. Justin's communication skills are great. He sends "pupdates" often when your dog is being trained, spends a good deal of time with the Owner when we picked him up & has followed up with us to see how things are going. We highly recommend Justin & K9 Trainology.

It was after several years of dog-sitting a Dog Wizard graduate (Cooper) for weeks at a time that…read morewe knew when we brought home our (Tizzy), mannerless, hyper, barking, stubborn, six pounds of fur and bark, we needed the Dog Wizard's help. Destiny Spence, was assigned to us by The Dog Wizard (louisville@thedogwizard.com). Their system worked well and met our needs. First, we were able to easily schedule all of our appointments in advance. Because Tizzy was six months old and we had a time crunch for completing her training, we opted for the private "in-home and public spaces plan. After meeting Tizzy, AND US, Destiny agreed that was what Tizzy needed. Destiny took charge and quickly showed us how to get Tizzy's attention, reward, and NOT reward her behavior. She did the same with us, too, because only one of us is almost a disciplinarian. After each class, Destiny sent us a reminder of what was covered and expected in the next class. Tizzy successfully graduated by passing all her classes. She knows how to walk correctly on a leash, place on the spot where I want her, come to me ALL OF THE TIME, even when she's outside, and that NO means stop whatever she's doing. Our house is much quieter now because she knows NO means stop barking and being hyper. An added compliment to Destiny is that she was prompt, consistently communicated with all of us, and was honest in pointing out when we were the problem, not Tizzy. Yes, we highly recommend The Dog Wizard and Destiny Spence for both dogs and their family members. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: THE ONE NEGATIVE COMMENT ON YELP IS ABOUT THE FRANKFORT LOCATION. My husband and I were extremely pleased with Linda's Beginner Obedience classes. We enrolled our…read morerescue into the 7 week program and I truly think it has changed our bond with him. Linda has a lot of insight and years of experience with training and the level of confidence she has with these dogs is remarkable. Our rescue knew very little commands, was horrible on a leash, and would get so excited around dogs he would bark like crazy. After speaking with Linda and finishing the course, I can walk him by myself safely and he is no longer chasing after every animal and barking. She also takes time to speak with you each class if needed and allows you to make up a class if you already have a prior commitment during that time of day. My caution to people who decide to sign up is the effectiveness of the classes are entirely dependent on the owner. Linda will teach you everything you need to know each week as we progress but it is very evident the owners that do not take the time to train their dog at home. They end up not continuing because it requires the owner to enforce what they've learned and continue it at home. It does not happen overnight but I guarantee if you continue to work with them you will have the same success we have had with our dog!
