Awful tour. They pack WAY too many people into a bus. If you are over 5'4" tall do not take this tour. So uncomfortable and cannot be safe. Tour guides were more interested in getting us in line at Montserrat and telling us where the pick up spot was located than actually sharing any valuable information about the site. Got stuck in traffic on the way back with no air conditioning on bus. Poor instructions about how to actually find the start of the tour. Here's a picture of the seat and our knees.
We used Julia Travel through Viator to book a tour of Girona and the Salvador Dali Museum. When I arrived at check in, the nice folks told us it wasn't time to check in yet. We sat around, and when I saw other people checking in for something or another, I went up to see if we could check in. We could. Maye a slight break down in communication? The Great - Girona was amazing The Good - The weather was perfect The Bad - Our tour guide did not have great English, did not project his voice so we could hear him and had a headset with a mic that he wouldn't put over his head. So we heard more of his breathing than anything else. The Ugly - The driver. Holy moly. This guy must have had a bathroom emergency in getting back. He had so many close calls, got honked at several times and had to use his hand break often to stop quickly and he was flying in and out of cars. I highly recommend visiting Girona and the Dali Museum. I maybe recommend using a different tour company. read more

Showed up to the office 5 mins late was told I had to wait one more hour and pay $38 per person more . This is their fault and I get charged for their change . Ugg annoying they play games . read more

Horrible customer service experience. We signed up for the montserrat day experience. Unfortunately we got lost getting to our meet up location so we missed our bus. We decided to take a taxi to montserrat to meet our tour group. We called Julia Travel and explained our situation. They told us, unfortunately there is nothing they can do, we cannot allow you to meet with the tour group and we cannot give a credit since it was not 24 hours prior. What a horrible experience, unwilling to work with the customer. If you use Julia Travels and run into a problem, they are not going to help and you will lose your money. I will never use this company on my next Barcelona trip. read more

One star. My experience with Julia's Travel was extremely disappointing. What I was told before booking did not match what actually happened, and explanations seemed to change on the spot when problems came up. I felt misled and taken advantage of, and customer service did nothing to resolve the issues. This was a stressful and frustrating experience from start to finish. I strongly recommend finding a different company to book your travel with. read more

By far the WORST tour we've been on. First, info regarding taxi was incorrect. Told tour bus can accommodate luggage, then we were told that we'd have to carry luggage for 1.5 hour walking tour. Half my family missed the first part of the tour to take care of luggage. NO apologies. Audio terrible quality and can barely understand tour guide. Tour guide not very knowledgeable, sharing only basic info. Bus was late and they had us wait in hot train station. Cable car part of tour, but not in the description. Rude driver who would not leave AC on in bus in between stops. Would recommend to STAY FAR AWAY. Any other tour company would be better. read more

Couldn't find- tried calling to reach before. Wouldn't pick up. Missed by three minutes, guide wouldn't come back for us. Missed our tour, wasted $300 because of poor communication/inability to reach guide. Go with anyone else. read more

Took a tour to Mont Serrat and we were supposed get to Julia Travel at 2:45 and to leave at 3pm. My husband and I were in group two. Group 1 went to their bus at 3pm. Group 2 stood on a corner until 3:30 pm and then they announced the bus for group 2 wasn't coming, so the group 1 bus came back and got us. I was mad because my feet hurt from standing on the concrete for 30 min. There was plenty of room on the bus for both groups to go together the first trip, why make us stand on the concrete for 30 min?? We did make it to Mont Serrat and that was nice, although I wish the guide would have told us what was in the museum and when it closed. There were Caravaggio's and another famous painters works inside and I missed it because I was taking pictures of the church and by the time I was done with that the museum was closed. The views inside the cathedral were very nice. And the surrounding scenery from the mountain was nice. read more

I found this service very confusing. Bought tickets off of vendor & it was not explained regarding options ie Monserrat trip. The tour leader was a bit abrupt in her tone. Buses did not have signage for the group or which company they represented. No company dress or colours to identify them. We received free vouchers but it was not explained how & where to redeem them? After departing the bus she made a point of saying goodbye (several times) as if to say where is my tip! Having been a tour guide myself I was not impressed. read more

I have to say first of all that I did not expect a First Class tour but what we received was very substandard. We booked a 24 person Maximum English speaking tour. 1. When we arrived there was no one but a driver to meet us and he was trying to find other drivers to transport other people. Overall from gathering our bags to arriving at the Hotel in Madrid was several hours. 2. On the first day of the tour we were supposed to get a Panoramic tour of Madrid. However, no information was provided regarding the time or meeting place for this tour. The staff at the hotel had no information and there was no information board or communication provided. We called the Julia customer service line which is SUPPOSED to have multi language support but I had to hand my phone to the hotel desk clerk to translate. Finally they told us be in the lobby at 8AM. We were there but waited an hour. 9AM was actually the correct info. Our guide for that tour had difficulty speaking and understanding English. 3. Throughout the tour there was a lot of free time and most lunches and many dinners were on our own. Also, be advised you will have to drag your luggage yourself. (We did expect this) 4. When our "formal" tour started our guide was nice but her English skills were abysmal. We were handed off to local guides in many places. Some of whom had marginal English at best. 5. We had two free days in Costa del Sol and I wanted to book a trip to Gibraltar. I asked many times which city in Costa del Sol would be our base so that I could book the trip. I was unable to get the info until the day before we arrived. 6. We had a VERY long day the day we took the ferry to Morocco. Even though the crossing is only an hour, the process overall was three hours to queue up and then get through customs lines three times. Add that to over six ours on buses made it a long day. 7. Many of the Hotels were average at best although a few were pretty nice. 8. We had a different guide in Morocco and then a third different guide when we returned to Spain. This third guide (Carmen) was much better with her English although the accent was a minor issue for me. 9. The final nail in the coffin was the farewell dinner. We got bused to the area and arrived at the restaurant to find we had no reservation. Overall this was a very poor travel company. read more

Viator booked our excursion to Caminito del Rey, Spain, with Julia Travel. What a mistake! On the day of the excursion, we drove 1-1/2 hours to the designated bus stop. As other tour busses were lining up, I noticed that there wasn't one for Julia Travel. I called and was told the excursion was cancelled. "Because of yesterday's heavy rains, Caminito del Rey is closed down. You can ask for a full refund or try next week (when we were heading back to the U.S)." So we opted for a full refund, which we had to do through Viator. It turned out that Caminito del Rey was not close after all, and other tour companies were running on schedule. That meant Julia Travel lied to us. Fortunately, we were able to join visitanddo.com as they had last-minute cancellations. I highly recommend vistanddo.com! read more

Terrible hop on hop off bus experience. Double decker bus is fine. Their ticketing is the most inefficient operation possible. We brought our voucher the first day and the kid argued with me that it wasn't good enough to get out tickets. We had to have our email because it would be for two companies? Really? Everyone in the world uses tickets via phones, they insist on paper. Second day, we go to get on the bus and the ticket had been damaged beyond repair. Shouldn't be a biggie. Just print a duplicate or void the original and issue a new number. Nope. Girl said we would have to pay for a new ticket. Ridiculous beyond the pale. Do not recommend. read more

Had to pay a reschedule fee of $70 because there's TWO Julia travels in the same mile. Anyway, the gal who did the tour was great.
Short review incoming! Julia Travel is like most travel companies, offering local and distant tours either by bus or sometimes train. I had already pre booked my tour online, so it was a simple stop and grab in terms of tickets. Staff was quick and helpful when needed, but nothing to rave about as they were not that social. As for the tours themselves they usually use various 3rd party companies to conduct the tours, so ones experience may differ from the other. I booked one for Figures and Girona, which was stellar, but again a third party company ran it and Julia Travel just organized it all. Pricing was very affordable for 10+ hour journey with admission included, so very happy about that. Would gladly use them again if in Barcelona and in need of a day/night tour. read more

Mostly a bus trip. Monastery was self guided, no audio. 2 hours on our own. Monastery was interesting.
So did the half day morning tour to Montserrat Mountain and Basilica with Julia Tours last month in Dec. Luckily, we did this because originally we were going to take the train and spend the whole day there. Take a look on youtube, somebody already posted a drone flyover so no need to waste your money going to the top and if you go in the winter not much to see in scenery. The most important item to see is the black madonna. According to religious folks its of significant importance. People from all over pilgrimage to see it. So checked in at Julia Tours waited a little bit, walked over to the bus and it turned out was pretty small group, about 15-20 people. Once we got there 1.5hr later the tour guide handed out radios and gave us headphones to plug in. If you go during the winter months its especially cold. Around 45-50 deg F. Bring scarfs, hats and gloves for yourself and the kids. Our guide gave tour of the significance of the rock formation and we got tickets to try the liquor or free cookies. Highly recommend if in Barcelona. No need for whole day. Tour guide very informative. Like how they call us familia, which means family in spanish. read more

We booked a tour which departed at 10am, with arrival at 9:45am. We arrived at 9:40am, and were told they had changed the time to 9:00am, and the tour had left. The front desk person said we had been contacted, which is false. She also said, "I don't know why they change times like this". Disappointing because this was our family's plan for our day in Barcelona, and it was too late to book the cable car. Would avoid using because of their lack of communication and reliability. read more
They have more tours than just walking tours in town. We took the "Afternoon trip to Montserrat". They supplied an excellent coach trip. The tour was in both English and Spanish. The guide did an excellent job of showing the sites, and answering questions. The tasting of 4 liqueurs is completely tourist tacky and the liqueur is bad unless you like really sweet things. However, I can see how that gets tacked onto the tour. The actual tour and coach were excellent. read more

The half day tour to Montserrat on Sept 15 felt like a nightmare. There were storms in several places in Spain, notably in that area, and a wise decision would have been to cancel/postpone the tour but of course they didn´t. We tourists didn´t see anything, didn´t drink any liquors, arrived there late and didn´t have time to anything, were exposed to risks, the staff were in a hurry, everything went wrong and this travel tour company failed to deliver what had been legally contracted. The guide Julia was completely reckless and had no idea of who/how many people she was guiding. While every tourist guide that I know counts obsessively the passengers all the time (in fact, even scouts do it!), but this woman didn´t! I intend to return to Montserrat some day because this 'tour' was just a waste of time and money. read more
Booked my tours on CyberMonday via Viator and Ebates($ back for booking via Ebates, if you haven't downloaded Ebates app, shame on you!) I booked the following: Monserrat/Gaudí tour( fabulous), La Família Sagrada( fabulous) and The Morning Walking Tour of El Born district/Picasso Museum(fabulous). All 3 guides were terrific. Special shout out to Cecilia who facilitated the Monserrat Tour. Booking via Viator is simple and easy. Most of my tours said print e- ticket or voucher or simply use E- ticket. You must check in Julia's travel office to obtain your admissions pass and meet your guide and your bus. All offices for Julia are easily accessible via Metro. The Balmes Number 5 Street: Take Line 1 to Universitat; leaves you five minutes away from office. You can also catch a quick bite at Starbucks, Tim Hortons or El Fornet. The travel office near La Rambla #54 is accessible via Metro Line 4, Liceu station stop. This also leaves you near La Boqueria where you can catch a quick snack for takeaway or dining in. The office personnel are courteous and helpful. Be sure as with every tour to research what you want to do, budget etc. Bon viaje! read more

Purchased these passes that were supposed to be good for two nights to a number of clubs listed in their brochure. Two of the clubs being Pacha and Opuim. We saved the tickets to be used Friday and Saturday night. When we got to the front of the line for Pacha, they would not accept the pass. No one working at the club had a clue of what the pass was. We ended up paying the entrance fee to get in. Be careful when purchasing these passes. The clubs don't seem to know what they are. Giving them a one star because we paid for something we could not use. WASTE OF MONEY. read more

We booked a "Game of Thrones" tour with Julia Travel in September. Our guide was Anna...who was fantastic! Our tour was a mixed group of 20 people, with approximately 6-8 of them "avid GOT enthusiasts"! The bus ride to Girard was about an hour, and the tour time was approximately three hours. Anna was knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and enthusiastic...the town was historical and lovely....the tour great! An extra hour to eat, drink, shop would have made it even better. We had planned on joining Anna the next morning for the half day Montserrat tour, but it was pouring down rain, so we passed. read more

We did an afternoon trip to Montserrat. Everything was on time and just as planned. Our guide was informative and the transportation was easy. I think this is what we were hoping for. Things were very nice and it was convenient to have train tickets already purchased by Julia to get to the top of the mountain. All in all we have no complaints and would use this service again. read more

I have to give 2 stars because of 2 major screw ups. Let's start with the first one: I got left behind. The guide on the Moderniste bus tour didnt bother doing a head count after meeting back at the bus in Park Guell so they took off without me. I was three minutes late. I dont feel sorry for people who are late but I will assume not everyone's watch is exactly synced up so, to me, three minutes is not late...10 is late. I called the Julia office as I saw my bus pulling away and they told me that no one was going to come back for me and they also did not offer me any compensation. I took the city bus back. Luckily I knew my way around Barcelona by this point. Problem #2. I showed up at the travel office at 3:15 for the 3:30 Artistic walking tour . I was told I needed to go to the info center at Placa Catalunya about 4 blocks away. Ok, I go there, look around, dont see anything that resembles a tour group so I got in the info line. It turns out that starting in June (mind you it was already the end of June) that tour starts at 3 pm. So I head back to Julia where they placed me in a different walking tour starting at 4 pm. I headed back down to the info office in Placa Catalunya to find out that tour now starts at 6....starting in June. I walked back to my hotel and took a shower and walked all the way back. I could have taken a cab but I'm cheap. I had already been walking since 9 am and was done with walking! The good points were that there were absolutely no issues with the Barcelona Highlights tour I took. The guide was awesome. She had a great personality, loved the city and her job and had a sense of humor. The last walking tour had a great guide too. I wish we had the modern technologies of tour guides in Chicago like the radios with head phones and guides with loudspeakers. It's so nice to keep moving while listening to the guide as we walk through the city. read more
We had an overall great experience with Julia Travel while spending time in Barcelona and Barceloneta. Dealing with the staff at booking might a be a little pain at times and the day tour trips can be a little expensive, but not unreasonable. By far, the best part about the Julia Travel experience in Barcelona is the hop on hop off double decker tour bus. While it is to be used mainly as a listening bus tour of the city, I'd highly recommend using this as your taxi to hit up the best places of the city during the day. You can be at La Rambla in the morning, Barceloneta by lunch, and at Sagrada Familia for an afternoon tour. With regards to their excursion trips, we took the Montserrat trip to see the black madonna and were very pleased with the experience. Pro tip: don't spend money on the train experience you'll be offered as well. Not worth it, per our fellow travelers. Also, bring a snack. In conclusion, I can't think of a better way to cram in all of Barcelona than with Julia Travel as your guide. read more

They scam you. I bought barcelona tour tickets. told us we could go until 7 and we couldn't go because there was a game day the next day and they didn't tell us that we also couldn't go the day before a game day. We have purchased Monserrat full day tour and Sagrada Famila tour with Julia travel agency. We were very dissapointed about these tours. It looked like our Sagrada Famila tour guide wasn't experienced enough and she spent a lot of time checking something with the staff. She left us on the hot sun and went somewhere. Our tour lasted 45 min instead of 2 hours. The same thing happened with the Monserrat tour. We got a 45 minute excursion and just one hour to observe a huge area of Monserrat. I do not recommend choosing this agency read more

Full Day Barcelona tour. It was to be at 9 am on the day we arrive in port from our cruise. Wrong move. So I called the tour office. Laura suggested we take the shuttle bus first out of port, then a taxi because of the number of people getting off the ship. The thought of transferring our luggage made us think twice and I requested for our tour to be moved next day, Anthony said no problem. We got on the tour next day - no hassles. Remember though, this is late November which is slow season. Our Full day Barcelona tour consisted of two separate tours. First one was a walk from the Placa Catalunya and ending up the Cathedral before boarding the bus again for Montjuic. Tickets to ride the lift up to the castle was included. We were a bit late 5 minutes or so? to get back to the bus, but they waited for us. On to the next stop Pueblo Espanyol for a quick tour and a complimentary glass of cava. Samantha also gave us a tip on where to eat roast suckling pig. Good tour. Second part of the tour was at 3:30 giving us time for lunch. Oriole(?) was a great guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You can tell he loved these places. He was very thorough walking us around all four sides outside of Sagrada Familia and showing us the best perspective to get photos. At Park Guell, too, but it involved a lot of walking and climbing up steps but thankful that he was there to point out interesting facts. It was dark by the time we got back to look at the Casa Mila, and the Casa Batllo but it seemed like he had more to say. Great tour! Word of advice, good shoes and prepare for a workout of a walk for those two tours together! read more

This was my first time booking with Viator. The tour was great and check in was easy once we found office My only complaint is they could have told us exactly where the local Tour agency was located and that we needed to check in there to get ticket. Wouldn't book with this company again--- rude tour guide - tough for a 5 hour excursion to Monserrat! Spent and hour trying to get out of the city!! Then we didn't have a full discussion of Monserrat but a political rant and rudeness if we asked a question! Only redeeming quality about the day - Monserrat takes your breathe away regardless of the person speaking to you - it's a God Thing - Majesty and Beauty in nature and history! read more

Viator has no respect for their customer. I booked one tour through the company and they harassed me with emails daily for a month while every time I tried to unsubscribe there was an error message. This happened regardless of the connection I was on, so I tried to contact the company directly. Then it got worse. They did not have a direct help line and it took an hour for them to answer my call. Once they did, the man was dodging my question and told me he could do nothing to help me. Then he put me on hold AGAIN to wait until he could get my email down (?) all just to UNSUBSCRIBE TO A PROMOTIONAL EMAIL LIST. Wouldn't it just be easier to respect your costumers in the first place??? I would never recommend this company to anyone looking to book a tour. read more

Please stay away from this company, it's a complete rip off !!!! I had purchased a half-day trip of Basque Country for 3 people via Tours4Fun for June 29th, the tickets were reserved and paid in full 4 months in advance. On the day of the trip we arrived to the meeting point listed on our tickets 15 minutes earlier, which happened to be a hotel, waited for 1 hour and the bus never showed up. I called Julia Travel's emergency number & main number numerous times (more than 10x) and no one picked up the phone. I decided to call Tours4Fun so they can provide an update and explain what was going on, Juanita (representative I spoke with) tried to get ahold of them multiple times as well but was unsuccessful to speak to anyone at the company. Given the situation, I asked that either our tour be moved to another day, or that I get a full refund and Juanita said the issue was out of their hands and they couldn't do anything until they contacted Julia Travel. She promised to call me back with a resolution within the next hours and never did, we were in Bilbao for 5 days and never heard from either Julia Travel or Tours4Fun, not even to get an apology for their unprofessionalism, much less did they refund me the money for the tour we never took. read more

Worst tour company I've ever used. The bus city tour was a joke. I couldn't see most of what they were pointing out because the seats are so high on the bus they were in my way. When we got off the bus and went walking around the city, they offered no headphones and you could barely hear what she was saying with all the street noise and cars and honking and people talking. At our stops I felt very rushed we barely had time to stand in line in the women's restroom before we had to get back on the bus. We had accidentally booked two tours that overlapped. We booked them both through Julie Travel. They would not honor or try to help us at in rescheduling. In fact, the charged us an enormous re-booking fee. We had also booked 4 tours with their miserable company. Had it not been for the fact we would have lost all of our $$$ I would not have taken their tour. The staff behind had attitudes and were not at all client friendly. We've traveled throughout Europe 4 different times now and have used a number of tour companies. This was by far the worse ever. Don't waste your time or your money just to get frustrated. read more
