Although he was very generous to his widow, she wanted more... Well actually she wanted everything, regardless of what our Father's will had directed. It was very unfortunate that we had to resort to using lawyers, as we had hoped to work together with our step mother, especially as she and my sister were very close for many years--until our father passed and greed overtook rational thought. Our step mother dragged this process out for over three years. Thankfully, we were referred to Mrs. Barnes. We did not want anything that was not rightfully ours; we just wanted our step mother to transfer our assets to us and to stop her from continuing to steal money from us. Most of all, we wanted this ordeal to end. Mrs. Barnes basically became a member of our family throughout this process, in that I believe that she actually cared for and about us, as opposed to just representing a client and collecting fees. Thankfully Mrs. Barnes was able to bring everything to a close, which was no easy task. I give this firm my highest recommendation! If you need representation as a result from the death of a loved one, you have found the right law firm.

Unfortunately I asked another attorney for a recommendation for a PROBATE lawyer and was given his name. I regarded the other lawyer highly so I took his referral higher than I should have. Lill provided services that were sometimes completely correct and valid, yet other times wasted my time with phone calls where he "thought out loud" wavering back and forth. Ultimately it came down to his not explaining in a way so that I thoroughly understood how probate works and my loved ones estate costing a lot more money than I ever anticipated. Also he said things like "sometimes credit card bills just go away". Funny how they all came back as soon as I stopped using him.

Instead of finishing the contracted work, he spent our meetings aggressively trying to upsell me on unauthorized legal services for an eviction issue, demanding an additional $1,000 to file court documents despite admitting he is not an attorney.
