The day before we arrived…read moreI ordered a dozen long stem roses from them to be delivered the day we arrived at the Quinalt Casino Resort. Arrived at about 3 pm. Roses were wilting. And already bloomed. She had told me they were fresh and beautiful we have stayed a day and a half and the roses are struggling with some dead petals on some of the flowers from the get go. This could be from the handling from the casino but I think they just were not fresh flowers for $80. Price is to be expected on the high side. But flower quality was very poor. My wife tried to cover for them but after the first day here it's obvious these were not fresh flowers as promised.

Periodically, the theatre presents classic movies. I was able to attend a showing of The Goonies, and while I already have this in my personal movie collection, getting the chance to see it once again on the big screen for the first time since 1985 was too tempting to pass up..."Goonies Never Say Die!" There are fewer than 50 Atmospheric Theatres left in the entire world. If you ever get a chance to attend a movie or live performance at this one, do yourself a favor and go to the show!

It was super duper neat to have workers on standby to ask questions even though I was running the self-guided tour. I would allot 1 to 2 hours while you are here to see each mini exhibit and read the descriptions to each piece. Super duper neat stuff that focused more so on Kurt Cobain during his adolescence, which I liked. My favorite part was the video playing of the Final version vs director's cut of the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" music video. I did not know that the history of the music video ran that deep!

I was 16 when Nirvana made it big and wil always feel a connection with the band and the place they originated from for several reasons i can't get into now. This was the first year we were able to visit the museum since it opened a year ago. Last time I was there there was just a mural but now it was a full fleshed museum full of decent Kurt related artifacts and a great giftshop for grunge fans.(left with several books and tshirts based on vintage band tshirts Kurt wore). The artifacts were great but the experience wouldn't be half as amazing without the very insightfull tour guide. i have read 15 grunge books, 4 nirvana books, and it was stil full of inside knowledge I had never heard about. On top of that it was so amazing to hear the owners and people work there talk about their common pasion for everything grunge and Kurt Cobain. Talking to them really lifted to whole experience and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Looking forward to going back next year to see what they added and do the tour of the Cobains resedence. Wonderful all around! Only downside is mosquitoes, but that is the case at pretty much all of these campsites near streams/rivers emptying into the ocean. The condos are…read morecomfortable, with full amenities; the kitchen was outfitted with a microwave, full-size refidgerator, and a small stove. There was a fireplace in the living room, a DVD player with the television, and a second television in one of the bedrooms. The condo was smaller than I expected, but very clean and cozy. The people I met at the desk were very nice; I had made my reservation ahead of time through their website, and paying and securing the condo was very easy. Pros: Electric heat (not just the fireplace for heating), DVD player, two bedrooms, close to the beach and surrounding activities. Cons: The bedrooms were not insulated, so it was quite cold in March. I didn't anticipate it being as chilly as it was, so it was tough to sleep at night. Also, the bedrooms are connected; the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling upstairs, so the wall dividing the two rooms is essentiall just that; a divider. In the second bedroom, the curtains don't completely cover the windows, so sleeping in past 8am wasn't much of an option. The beds themselves were fairly uncomfortable; I almost decided sleeping on the couch would be better, as it was nice and plush. I really enjoyed staying here, despite being uncomfortable with the sleeping arrangements. The price was just under $450 for three people staying in a two bedroom condo for four nights, so I feel that the price was good. Next time, I'm thinking about a summer vacation, so I don't have to worry about the temperature so much!
