Juli is absolutely amazing and exceeded all my expectations. We saw Juli for an in-home visit, about 2 weeks after my baby was born. At this point, we were triple feeding and I was having trouble getting my baby to latch, building my breast milk supply, and also with bottle feeding. Juli was firing on all cylinders! She is sharp, smart, and efficient. She helped me develop a realistic goal and care plan, based on my priorities. She was sensitive, informative, and caring. We got so much out of the initial visit. Our second and subsequent visits were just as fruitful. Juli has so much knowledge and experience. She practices evidence-based medicine. Her advice was so valuable. I felt better after every visit. I've interacted with other great lactation consultants, but still feel like Juli is a true gem and feel so lucky to have been able to work with her! read more

I truly believe I owe the success of my second breastfeeding journey to Juli! From our first visit with my boy as a newborn, she helped me ditch the nipple shields and immediately get a more comfortable, deeper latch with some simple positioning changes. She also gave me invaluable tips on battling sleepy eaters, cluster feeding, and more. I was immediately more confident, after a stressful and unsuccessful bf journey with my first. She then came back to help me formulate a pumping plan for my return to work. Again, she gave me so much confidence going into that new phase and really made me feel like this pumping journey didn't need to be as stressful as the first time around. Since then, she's supported me in questions, came back for a weighted feed to get an idea of how much baby was taking after my supply had seemingly dropped, and continued to just instill confidence. She really brings a low stress vibe to her appointments which I REALLY appreciate! I pass her name on to any mom, first timer or not, as a must have postpartum support! read more

I'm so glad that we were set up with Juli for an in-home consultation through the Lactation Network! We were able to schedule an appointment very quickly after some initial struggles getting our newborn to gain wait. Juli helped us uncover our goals for feeding baby. She was very supportive and understanding of our situation and helped identify positions that worked for us. She also provided us with a lot of information for reference and guidance. read more

Juli is phenomenal at providing breastfeeding support-- you will not regret working with her! I was referred to Juli by my doula while I was pregnant, because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed my son, and also knew that I would be returning to full time work 6 months after he was born. I took the prenatal class that she offers online and I was really happy with it because it saved me a TON of money. I was on my way to preventatively buying those silly silver nipple covers and a ton of nipple creams and came to the class to ask Juli about them. I think one of my first questions was "is there a way I can prepare myself for the pain?" And her response was "Breastfeeding is not supposed to hurt." The statement was so liberating and sent me down a completely different path from the direction I had been headed. That class ended up being fun and funny and again (because I am super cheap I will say that it saved me a lot money... many popular narratives around breastfeeding are that it's complex and needs a ton of props, and that just was not the case for me. My baby is so healthy and happy and I credit Juli with helping us get there with her amazing support. I truly could not provide a stronger recommendation for an LC. read more

Just one session with Juli was a total LIFE CHANGER! I struggled with getting our baby to latch properly and feeding her in a position that was not painful or caused my body to contort in weird ways. Within minutes of arriving to our apartment, Juli positioned the baby in a way that was comfortable for me to hold her and alleviated any of the pain I previously experienced while feeding. That was just the first few minutes of the visit! Juli was adamant about ensuring I was comfortable and pain-free while feeding. She shared many amazing tips and tricks to make breast feeding a bonding experience for me and my baby as opposed to a painful chore. She also walked me through the set up of my breast pump and advised on pump parts I should exchange for better sizing for my breast. I'd recommend Juli's services to any and every mom looking for help with feeding her baby! read more

Juli was recommended to us by our Doula and we are SO grateful for her lactation support during the first few months of our daughter's life. She visited us for the first time when my daughter was 4 days old and was truly a bright spot in an otherwise very difficult day. Her approach to supporting breastfeeding families is kind, clear, non judgmental, and flexible - always keeping in mind the health/comfort of the baby and mom. We had her return for support 4 other times and she helped ensure breastfeeding was comfortable and provided plenty of recommendations on easy breastfeeding positions. I can honestly say I would not still be breastfeeding now, 15 weeks later, if it wasn't for Juli. read more

Juli is an AMAZING lactation consultant and all-around resource for new parents and especially postpartum moms. She has come to our house and done telehealth visits a number of times to help us work through different feeding challenges - a tongue tie, weaning from the nipple shield, oversupply, and even potential food allergies. She is so knowledgeable, helpful, and affirming. We could not have achieved our breastfeeding goals without her and I am so glad that we were connected to her through our doula. read more

Quick summary of my experience with Juli: -She did not check to see if my newborn had a tongue tie, after I had exhibited, what I now know to be, very clear and obvious symptoms (poor weight gain, thrush, milk blisters, vasospasm). I had to resort to finding a new LC and paying out of pocket for a second opinion since I used my insurance-covered vists on Juli. -Juli also seemed distracted, did not answer emails or texts in a timely manner and was dismissive of my concerns. Now for the details. I found Juli after a quick Google search before my son was born. I contacted her to setup a home visit a few days post partum to ensure breastfeeding would go successfully. Juli was covered by my insurance for 1 initial home visit, with 2 follow-ups if needed. She came my house 4 days PP and did a weighted feed, which at the time, was right where it should have been. Something we noted but didn't seem remarkable to her was that I had pretty extreme pain in both of my breasts when I fed and that I had bad scabs on both breasts, as well. Thinking I was producing enough milk, I was happy with her services after our first visit up until my baby's 1 week weight check, where I learned he lost a lot of weight. My pediatrician said we had to either breast feed more often or supplement. I was already feeding 12 times each day, so we called Juli who came back, did another weighted feed and found that my supply was pretty low. At that time I had even *more* breast pain and now a low supply, which forced me to supplement. We developed an action plan for supplementation until my son's weight improved, using formula and pumping after each nursing session to increase my supply. This worked in getting my son's weight up, but absolutely destroyed my nipples and I ended up developing thrush, vasospasm and a milk blister. I contacted Juli with two emails and several texts to let her know that I thought I had thrush, etc.. After taking a long time to reply and always only answering half of my concerns, she quickly dismissed my worries regarding thrush after not having seen my nipples in person or even a photo. That's when I decided to take things into my own hands. I did a ton of research and treated my thrush naturally. I also hired and was forced to pay for a second opinion, where within minutes of that visit, it was clear my son had a tongue tie. It's since been revised and we're on the road to recovery with a ton less pain while nursing and improved milk production. Juli also never reached out to follow-up or offer more in the way of recommendations, even though we had one visit left to use. Overall, Juli is helpful in reassuring when in-person, but is not present when troubles arise down the road. Wishing I could say I had a different experience with her, but wanted to share for other mom's out there who may need some serious help. read more

Juli deserves more than 5 stars. She is an incredible resource that helped me so much after the birth of my baby boy. I ran into a lot of problems in the weeks/months after he was born and she helped me through all of them. She came to my house multiple times and provided hands-on guidance on positions in the beginning and weighed feedings, and then returned for visits for any new issues I encountered. She recommended we see a pediatric dentist who was able to correct my baby's severe tongue tie (that would have caused eating and speech issues). I am eternally grateful to her and her support. I am still breastfeeding my 8 month old and I credit her with so much. I couldn't recommend her more. read more

Long story short, take the online class and schedule Juli for your baby's 3rd or 4th day of life. I've never met a more responsive and dedicated health care provider. Juli has spent hours trying to figure out a solution to my baby's health and breastfeeding issues. Initially, we had minor latch issues/positioning, and now we have some unresolved GI issues. For both visits she was able to come within a couple days of me contacting her. The insurance billing is incredibly easy, and most insurance pays for 3 visits! Juli understands how hard everything is in the beginning and answers texts (!!) and emails promptly, and just magically shows up at my door with a purple suitcase carrying her baby scale during a snow storm. That being said, Juli is a bit frenetic and off-the-cuff. She doesn't dance around anything. Because breastfeeding is such an emotional thing, it is hard to hear that baby isn't growing as fast as he or she should. However, I can't imagine a better LC. One who is smart, dedicated, perceptive, responsive, and up-to-date, with personal experience breastfeeding 5 children no less! She approaches difficult issues like a scientist, by referencing articles, asking questions on LC forums, and offering real advice after getting data. Several of my mom friends see Juli, and I would think everyone would agree that she has been helpful for them during their breastfeeding journey. read more

My husband and I attended Juli's breastfeeding class a couple weeks before our baby is due. The class was recommended by our doula and midwives. There were so many practical tips on what to expect the first week with a newborn, how to fit breastfeeding into your normal life (travel, work, etc.), and warning signs to tell you when you may need to get more help in breastfeeding. My husband in particular was blown away with how much he learned. As a parent to two older kids, he expressed how much he wished someone had told him these things with his first two kids. Ultimately his first two kids were formula fed after he and his ex wife thought breastfeeding was failing, when in reality so much of what they experienced (cluster feeding, milk not coming in immediately after birth, etc.) was totally normal. We now both feel so much more confident that we will be able to figure out breastfeeding with the new baby. And if we run into any problems, Juli also does postpartum home visits! read more

Juli is a life saver! I was really struggling to find a comfortable breastfeeding position and ways to ensure my baby has a good latch. Juli visited our home and showed us very effective ways to improve our breastfeeding experience. She also followed up with me few days later just to check in and make sure we're on the right track. We're still practicing and our breastfeeding is not perfect yet but with Juli's help I'm hopeful that we can get there. I highly recommend Juli if you're looking for a lactation consultant! read more

My husband and I attended Juli's comprehensive breastfeeding class. We are first time parents and didn't really know what to expect. Juli was AWESOME. She is so knowledgeable and engaging, and her class was truly comprehensive- covered aspects of the breastfeeding experience that I never would have thought about. She made us feel so comfortable with learning about breastfeeding, and after class, I feel more prepared. I am looking forward to a home visit with Juli once baby comes. I have every confidence that with Juli's help, we will get off to a great start and I will have the peace of mind knowing that she will be there for me as a resource if questions or issues arise. read more

Holy shit! This woman knows her stuff! My husband and I just took her class, and we could not have felt better prepared for what is to come for our little nugget. We are excited to call Juli after the birth of our daughter for all her insight and advice. Highly recommend Juli; She's an expert! read more

What a terrific resource to mothers and parents. Coming into the labor and delivery, my wife and I felt that there were massive resources for prepping for the big day. But my main complaint was what about AFTER? Juli is the after and more. We met her in a Bradley class and first got a taste of the benefits, but also struggles of what breastfeeding would be. Through a thoughtful lesson in class to a home visit she was wonderful. Not only was she very approachable for my wife, also accommodating to her during c-section recovery, but also did a great job with my questions! Dad friendly is a plus in my book! Would fully recommend to anyone. read more

I met Juli through Bradley Method classes earlier this year. She is nothing less than amazing. I contacted her while I was in the hospital to schedule a home visit the day after I returned home. There are many words I could use to describe Juli. Encouraging, supportive, respectful, non-judgmental are just a few, as I sat there in my living room with no shirt on and unable to move from my c-section. She told me what I can expect with breastfeeding, debunked a lot of breastfeeding myths, assisted with different positions, provided resources and follow-up, made certain my little boy was getting enough, showed me how to use my pump, and answered all of our questions. Juli is all that is breastfeeding. I am approaching five months of breastfeeding, and Juli is a huge part of this. There are many times I cried, wanted to quit, and switch to formula. Thankfully I had Juli, her knowledge, and a very supportive husband. I refer her to pretty much everyone I meet. read more

I couldn't have done it without Juli! My son had a really rough time latching and I couldn't figure out my nursing posture. We called Juli and were able to see her the following day. She came into our home and spent 3 hours with us, weighing our baby and teaching us new nursing positions and getting him to learn how to latch. She also spent a lot of time getting to know us, asking about the birth, our BF preferences, teaching us about the chemical makeup of breastmilk, etc. We learned so much in those three hours! Before she left she gave us a huge list of resources and is keeping in touch with us via text, phone, and email to make sure we're still doing ok. She is also not intimidating at all -- she is kind, hilarious, and jovial. We are grateful. Thank you, Juli!! read more

My husband and I both LOVED Juli's breastfeeding class. I was admittedly skeptical, as many friends have talked about how useless their pre-baby breastfeeding classes were compared to just figuring it out once the baby comes. But our doula recommended Juli, and we are so glad we took their word for it and both participated in her class. I can say that to date it's the single thing we've done that's made us feel the most prepared to bring our baby home. We left with a transformed understanding of how the first few weeks with newborn go, and the real science (not myths) around breastfeeding. I really thought I knew a fair amount from friends, but turns out I was wrong! Added bonus is just how fun and funny Juli is. So much of preparing for a baby can feel really heavy, it was a joy to spend a few hours laughing. The session was jam packed with really useful information, we left exponentially more equipped to advocate for ourselves and the health of our baby, and actually enjoyed our time. Highly recommend. read more

I really enjoyed this class. I came out confident and really getting to the root of things. There were things I didn't know. Questions being resolved of all the myths we usually hear. I have 3 kids and expecting my 4th, with this class I learned a lot more than I ever have with the 3. She's extremely informative. And looking back with my first child it makes sense of how the experience was and how I was feeling!! I so recommend this class!!! read more

As lactation consultants go, Juli is, in my opinion, the BEST IN CHICAGO. She is certainly better than any of LC that visited me in the hospital. But who knows, they might not have as impressive credentials as Juli does. If you think you might be having trouble breastfeeding, don't hesitate, call Juli now. She came to my house and had me fixed up in no time at all. Furthermore, she's been periodically checking back in on me to see how things are going, which has been extremely helpful. She is the most knowledgeable person I have met about all things baby--perhaps even more so than my doctor. She's up-to-date on things like cosleeping, natural and "traditional" childbirth, etc. Plus, she is really unassuming, funny, supportive, and down-to-earth without being too hippy-dippy granola, which can be a real turn off. Overall, Juli rocks! If you're reading this, you probably need to call her now. read more

Where do I begin?? I attended Juli's breastfeeding class (which was great) and learned she does in home consultations once baby arrives. I did not know then how big of a part Juli would have in our breastfeeding journey. I struggle with anxiety and from day one when my son arrived I didn't think I could breastfeed. I setup time with Juli a few days later, she is amazing and has squashed my anxieties at each visit and taught me so much! Breastfeeding can be challenging and doctors are NO help in helping women stick to the healthiest thing for their babies, Juli will have your back though, support you, connect you to all the right resources, and help you achieve your goals. read more

Juli is amazing. She absolutely excels in all aspects of her work. She is professional, well-organized, and responsive. She is a true expert in her field, both in terms of 'on the ground' experience, and being up-to-date on the latest academic research. Juli does not have any particular dogma she tries to force onto you-- instead she works to understand your situation and goals, then develops a plan with you to meet those goals, without judgement. She is extremely kind and compassionate. She did a fantastic job of identifying particular sources of anxiety and helping me deal with them. I've had a mastectomy, and got off to a bad start after a jaundice scare-- but Juli got me back on track. I probably wouldn't be breastfeeding today if it weren't for Juli. She is the best! read more

My wife and I strongly recommend that you take the time to work with Juli. The first few weeks with a newborn are super stressful, especially on a new mother trying to predominantly breastfeed. The lactation consultants that we'd encountered in the hospital generally left us feeling worse off, as if we were inadequate parents or there was a problem with our child. With a single home visit, Juli left us feeling well-informed and, more importantly, reassured that we weren't being terrible parents. Her friendly and comforting communication style made us feel more confident in our abilities and the well-being of our son. In addition to the support provided in-person, she also follows up with us regularly and answers all of our questions by text immediately. We'd highly recommend her services to gain a better understanding of breastfeeding and ways to make the act of breastfeeding less overwhelming. A tip of the hat to you, Juli! Thanks so much! read more

Juli's class was SO helpful! I was feeling pretty anxious about breastfeeding, but after attending her class, I'm feeling a lot better about it. She's extremely knowledgeable and I'm so glad my doula recommended her! read more

What an absolutely pleasant surprise Juli's childbirth class has been. Encompassing the Bradley Method of childbirth - with tangents into lactation, post-partum, what to expect week-to-week throughout pregnancy and all other topics surrounding birth itself -- the class is informative, fun and great preparation for what to expect. I'm a busy husband who had little enthusiasm for childbirth itself and initially considered busting out my laptop to do work during class. I had been excited for my baby to arrive, of course, but frankly not nearly as much so about the birth itself, which I still view almost wholly from a health lens - I just want whatever does mother and child no harm, and then with the least pain possible. The Bradley Method for natural child birth - emphasizing diet, exercise, nutrition, breathing -- strikes my wife and I as common sense standing against a tidal wave of induction, drugs and surgery, all of which, however convenient they can be, are often employed unnecessarily and cause harm. When and how exactly to opt for these things is something to learn, not accept as writ by a medical community with many self-interests in all three. Hence, Juli's class. Juli's class has got people who share my perspective. It's also got many who do not. Members are diverse. There are singles, couples, suits, hipsters, hippies, corporate hippies -- class members who spend night-and-day thinking about pregnancy and others who devote a few hours of week towards preparing for the big moment - people who perhaps have nothing in common but time, information and empathy enough to want to attend in the first place -- and, I'm willing to bet, agreement that Juli's class is a five-star service. Juli possesses all the qualities of a great teacher. She's prepared. Her materials, from checklists to videos, are practical and supplement her teaching but in no way substitute for it. She sticks to her syllabus, makes herself available before and after class, as well as via cell, e-mail and Web. She encourages and actively develops friendships between class members. She's a trusted source of counsel because she has a fact-based approach to making recommendations and is an active listener who respects, encourages and works with diverse approaches - in this case to birthing, whether in choice of hospital, details of birthing plan or pre- or post-birth plans. It's obvious she loves what she does. She has the class participate and bring the material to life themselves, which makes the minutes fly-by while always remaining totally relevant to the topic of birthing. For example, her role-playing of nurse / doctor interactions with patients was humorous, nuanced and incredibly useful -- a modelling of different labor scenarios and how to identify them and react, so when labor day comes we can differentiate between attempts at lazy or inept medical interventions and those smart recommendations for when emergency action is, in fact, required. Such class activities are not only interactive but memorable - perhaps more so than taking notes and memorizing them - though there is ample opportunity for that too. Lectures also come to life, since Juli, as with any great teacher, has performance art. In her case, her imitations rival those of a stand-up comedian - but, again, are hardly self-indulgent, tangential or unprofessional; instead they serve to illustrate and hammer home important points. Finally, she is very open about her past, what lessons she has learned as a mother of four and as a teacher / doula / lactation consultant. This openness not only provides anecdotal qualifications for the facts behind her content, but also shows a vulnerability that creates a deep trust relationship between her and her class. The quality of the teaching here is commensurate to the best I have had in undergraduate or graduate schools, where many of my tenured professors only brought a fraction of the fact-base or passion Juli carries into class with her every Thursday evening. Juli's class also resembles an academic one in meeting once-a-week, for three hours, for nine weeks (childbirth = end-of-term final exam). Although Juli made it clear upfront to not feel guilty for showing up late or leaving early, she made it to 9:30 every night - and made every minute worth it - which is another difference between Juli and one of my $3000-per graduate classes I am still paying off. It'll be hard not just to find a birthing class this good in the city, but any sort of class at this value. My wife and I were going to take a Bradley method class no matter what - the fact we lucked out and had someone as fantastic as Juli for a teacher is another addition to our list of proofs that we live charmed lives. read more

My wife and our newborn baby girl had some trouble breastfeeding. Juli came over to our house, on the 4th of July no less, and by the time she left, our problems were a thing of the past. It was an amazingly helpful session, and we are so thankful to her. Juli is extremely knowledgeable about current research and thinking on breastfeeding. She is very professional and gets right down to business, but she is also very warm and encouraging toward mother and baby... really a perfect balance. She even spontaneously called to follow up and answered questions for half an hour. If there is a better lactation consultant in Chicago than Juli, I would be shocked. A+++ Thank you so much Juli. Our little one is now feeding like a champ! read more

Juli is amazing! She was recommended to me and my husband by our Bradley Method instructor. Juli is very knowledgeable, responsive, kind, supportive and involved. I am very grateful she was introduced to us. read more

Juli was amazing! My baby could not latch on my breasts so I had to pump milk every day - It was exhausting and I finally decided to seek help from lactation consultant. After I contacted Juli, she came to my house the next day. She was very knowledgable at what she was doing and very patient. She introduced me two different positions to breastfeed baby and my baby very soon could latch by herself. Since then I started to breastfeed my baby. It was only being one day but my baby has made a big progress! Another thing I like about Juli is she spent 2 hours and 10 minutes here and introduced a lot of resources for us to better understand lactation. I was deciding between Juli and another lactation consulting company - same price but the other one only provides 1 to 1.5 hours. I am glad I chose Juli! read more

Juli is PHENOMENAL! She has an amazing reputation as one of, if not the best doula in Chicago. She was my doula for my first (and so far only) delivery. She supported my husband and I throughout my pregnancy, delivery, and many months postpartum. She is incredibly intuitive and understands her clients and their needs instantly. She can connect with, care for, and support anyone ranging from a mom who wants homebirth to a mom who is a diehard hospital and epidural fan. She never passes judgment on how you choose to have your birth. Rather, she educates and explains and helps to facilitate that most positive birth experience you can have. Off the bat at our first meeting, I felt confident with her as my doula. She's intelligent, funny, sharp and witty. She's incredibly knowledgeable on all things mommy and baby- ranging from prenatal stress, fetal development, delivery, post partum emotions, breastfeeding, baby sleep schedules, and how to deal with bad babysitters (yes, I even called her to complain about my babysitter!) Nurses are in and out so I feel it's crucial to have a doula always there to keep you comfortable and staying positive. She thinks of everything from getting us water to covering my IV with a little cloth because I'm afraid of needles and don't want to see them. From the husband's perspective, she also helped him immensely. She prepared him, let him know I'm okay and everything that's happening is normal, and she constantly checked up on him too. A calm and taken care of spouse/partner is better able to support the woman! She helped me make crucial decisions in my labor that I believe stopped me from ultimately having a C-section. I trusted her completely and felt confident in her advice, and I think it gave me an amazing birth experience. I am still nursing my 8 month old a few times a day thanks to Juli. who was a wealth of information in keeping my milk supply, and telling me which medications were compatible with breastfeeding, which many doctors are not well trained in. I LOVE Juli and I can't wait for my next pregnancy to see her again! Call any of her references, and I bet every single one of them has the same rave reviews. On a side note, my family is Jewish orthodox and she was extremely accommodating and sensitive to our particular needs. She really looked into our religion to help us as best as she could, asked questions, and did her research. read more

Juli led the breastfeeding session of our Bradley method class. She was so fantastic that we hired her as a lactation consultant for an in house visit after our baby was born (we would have hired her as a doula too had we not already had one). Juli is high energy, no-nonsense and incredibly professional. You hear so much contradictory information presented as fact during pregnancy. Juli cuts through all the bullshit and says, "This, this, and this is nonsense. This, this, and this is how you want to do it." She's been doing this for 15 years. She'll drop knowledge on you and she won't waste time. We had a lot of things go wrong in that first week after birth. The thing that went the most right was breastfeeding. We attribute a lot of that to the lessons we learned from Juli. Four of the women from our Bradley method class hired Juli and all have had similarly positive experiences. Of all the professionals we came into contact with throughout our pregnancy and delivery, Juli stands out as one of the best. (PS - Dads, you'll like Juli a lot. Higher energy, less nonsense than the other folks you've been dealing with. She's funny too.) read more

Juli's breastfeeding class was so great and beneficial for me and my husband. It took away a lot of anxiety I was having about breastfeeding. The class was very interactive and we learning a lot about what to expect after delivery. Extra bonus, Juli is really funny and engaging...was able to keep my husband, who has the attention span of a 5 year old, interested the whole 2.5 hours. read more

We met Juli through our Bradley Method classes. She came in and did a class on breastfeeding. She had so much valuable information and amazing energy. Her class was much more of a discussion rather than her talking to us, which is so helpful. I would highly recommend her class to any moms, new or experienced. I will definitely be calling her for any additional questions or help once my baby arrives! read more

Juli is amazing! I sent Juli an e-mail the night after I returned home from the hospital, and Juli replied first thing the next morning saying that she could come for a lactation consult that afternoon. She was incredibly supportive, without being the least bit judgmental, is extremely knowledgable, and came up with several creative ideas to help with the issues I was having. After the consultation she continued to be available via e-mail with any questions that I had. She completely exceeded all of my expectations! I would recommend Juli to all of my friends. read more

Juli came to our rescue within a day notice for lactation consultation. My milk supply got out of control on one side for almost two weeks where I could only feed my daughter expressed milk else she would choke and both of us would cry! It was an extremely messy feeding situation at home. Juli took the time to get to know us and our issues. She spent a good 2 hours at our home observing the feeds, teaching me new feeding positions, and what I can do to taper supply. Within a couple days, I've gone from nursing 1/3 and expressed milk 2/3 of the times to 100% bf naturally. My daughter has gotten visibly happier, too. After the session, Juli sent me an abundance amount of resources and I can always count on her to respond within 24 hours if I have an inquiry. THANK YOU, Juli!! read more

If you are planning to breastfeed, do not hesitate, TAKE JULI'S CLASS!! (We attended her Comprehensive Breastfeeding Class). Juli is a wonderfully engaging presenter and has so much, incredible knowledge that she presents in a very clear, understandable way. My husband and I left class feeling so much more confident and prepared for the arrival of our little one. Adding to this confidence is the peace-of-mind of knowing that we can call Juli for consultation services if we have any difficulties once we arrive home. Take this class. I can't recommend Juli enough. She's knowledgeable, kind, and made my nursing relationship with my child possible. I had issues with my first baby latching and was worried I would have to go through it all over again, except this time with a toddler in tow. Juli came to my home and gave me so much support, along with information on how to file her services with my insurance company. She followed up with me and answered my questions by text immediately. I had a couple follow up meetings because of various changes that arose in the first months (oversupply, if you can believe it, as stressful as undersupply, in my experience). I wish I'd had reached out to her with my first, but am grateful for her help the second time around. read more

I would highly recommend Juli to anyone that is needing assistance in breast feeding. I had been struggling for several weeks and had even seen a different consultant before her but was still in pain. After my session with Juli, I started to get relief within 24 hours. She was also very responsive and quick to answer any follow up questions. read more

I can't say enough about Juli. I am familiar with her work as a Bradley teacher, doula, and lactation consultant. I met Juli as a Bradley partner for my sister-in-law, attending her Bradley training sessions, Having completed them with another teacher for my own baby, I can say that, while both teachers were excellent, Juli's class was made more enjoyable and effective by her highly organized, humorous, and warm delivery (so to speak!). I also appreciated that she had longer sessions so that there could be fewer (if I recall it was something like 9 1.5 hour sessions instead of the standard 12 1-hour sessions). When I went to the hospital with my SIL, I was such a well prepared coach that the hospital staff thought I was a doula. Recently, when my own home birth was moved to the hospital because of a baby who didn't want to stay head-down, I called Juli to support me as a doula. She proved to be an excellent emotional and logistic support. She knows how to interact with the medical staff so that her presence is not intrusive, yet support the laboring mother in making educated decisions. She is also a wonderful cheerleader, hand-holder, and solution finder (for example, she found a way to keep make sure the baby's heartbeat could be picked up by the monitor *while* I was standing so that I didn't have to be tethered to the bed). Once the baby was out, she was very strong in asserting that the conditions we wanted were respected (placing the baby immediately on mom, letting the cord pulse, etc.). That was great because by then, I couldn't have told you my birth plan if you gave me a million dollars. Largely because of Juli's support, I was able to give birth vaginally and without anesthesia, despite having been induced and experiencing more powerful contractions than would have happened naturally. After the birth, Juli put on her lactation consultant hat and made sure we were nursing well before she left us to catch up on our rest. She was also available by phone and for a home visit for lactation support and was able to solve a very painful breastfeeding problem for me with some simple troubleshooting. Thank you for everything, Juli! read more

I took Juli's breastfeeding class and it was wonderful! She debunked so many breastfeeding myths that I would have otherwise believed. I feel much more prepared and confident about breastfeeding now. read more

I used to dread breastfeeding session with my baby! It used to hurt a lot that I just wanted to end it quickly, my back used to be sore because of awkward positioning, and overall not enjoyable. It was sad, because breastfeeding is supposed to be a powerful bonding experience between mother and her newborn baby. My husband suggested that we meet with a lactation consultant (Juli came highly recommended by our friend) and I desperately needed help so I agreed. I'm so glad I did!! Juli has a very positive attitude that instantly made me feel better. She weighed the baby before and after the feeding, and showed several positions that would make feeding much more enjoyable (also mentioned that I should relax my shoulder since she noticed I tensed up when I started feeding). She was encouraging, and she listened to all my concerns and showed me how to address them. After I met with Juli, things were seriously so much better. I actually look forward to the feeding session, where I can enjoy my newborn as every mother should! Most importantly, she made herself available to answer any follow up questions I have (how to handle pumping after going back to work, etc) which is super helpful. I would highly recommend Juli to any mother that has issues with breastfeeding. read more
