I have really appreciated the professional approach that Hannah has. She is the first voice of this office, and she represents the practice well. Cheers to Hannah for being so patient as I had to call her frequently to get medical records transferred, and several appointments scheduled. thank you! I haven't had to wait past my appt time, and everyone is timely and professional. read more

If I could give this office ZERO stars I would. They overcharge-require a "consultation" appointment to discuss birth control options AND then another appointment to actually prescribe any birth-control. They are not thorough communicators, do not spend more than a few minutes with the patient, not listening to the true needs, nor are they helpful in aiding a woman seeking to make her own choices in reproductive health. They are UNknowledgeable about non-hormonal birth control methods, and not willing to help procure a prescription for non-hormonal birth control. The front desk has left us on hold for over 30 minutes multiple times, and are flat out rude. I would NEVER recommend a woman go to Modern Woman's Health. TERRIBLE. read more

Worst experience ever. They are only interested in up charging you to death. The front staff does not let you know the "mandatory mammogram" and "mandatory pelvic exam" requirements needed if you want to continue HRT before booking your first appt. A mammogram is not a legal requirement, I was up to date on my pelvic exam and if their office demands them, they should tell you up front. The nurse practitioner was uninterested in my history, tense and arguing me on my values and only interested in pushing extra cost services in order for me to even get my current HRT script refilled. She told me she "dabbled" in the HRT that I was currently on and was confused and couldn't even read my prescription. NOT RECOMMENDED if you believe in natural medicine. no wonder they have 2 star over all rating. read more

My experience was not with Dr. Jukes, but with her NP. She interrupted me before I could finish explaining my issue and redirected the conversation to something that wasn't related to the reason for my visit. She was dismissive and condescending about what I was experiencing. I went to a different doctor who validated my issue and suggested appropriate next steps. I love to endorse local providers who support women's issues, but my experience here was jarring. read more

To say I am absolutely disgusted with this practice after coming here for nearly 20 years is an understatement. In my opinion it is only operating to make money and not for your personal benefit in actually helping its clients. The PA I saw completely missed or did not review my family history and because they called to ask a question after the fact I was charged for an additional visit to ask me to return to the office for my pap to be completed. My family and I will never return to Dr. Jukes office after our last visit of not helping, overcharging, and not actually listening to my needs and stating that I was told one thing when I was absolutely not. Extremely disappointed but the fact is that one will rarely ever see the actual doctor anyway so I can see a PA at any office I go to going forward. Thanks for literally nothing but fees and extensive headaches. read more

I really don't want to go into details as this is medical related, But if you are looking for a compassionate and understanding doctor, look elsewhere. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I chose to ignore the reviews and that was definitely a mistake. read more

My final visit was unacceptable. I was told to hurry up while deciding whether to take a test that could determine if I had colon cancer, and I left the office in TEARS. That lack of empathy should never happen in a medical setting. I was a patient at this practice for four years, and the experience steadily went downhill. After my first visit with Dr. Jukes, I was repeatedly passed from one PA to another with no continuity of care. Patients are treated like a cattle call, appointments are rushed, and the nurses are unfriendly and often rude Billing practices are extremely concerning. Patients are treated like dollar signs. Be aware that if you ask any additional questions about your health during a visit, even minor ones, you may be billed for each and every item discussed. It is absolutely ridiculous. I was also upsold on products I did not need. My annual mammogram was coded as diagnostic instead of preventive, insurance denied it, and the office refused to correct the code. Over a year later, I am still dealing with this. read more

Horrible experience at this place. They charged me an office visit for my annual well woman's exam which is 100% covered by ins. simply b/c they gave me a Rx and recommended 2 doctors. This is laughable. Also wanted to charge $50 to call in a prior auth, for said Rx. WOW this place has gone down the tubes, horrible customer service. I guess they like treating their customers poorly. DO NOT GO HERE THEY'RE HORRIBLE!!!!! DISGUSTED! read more

I've come here for 4 years and had almost all negative experiences. When I've come for annual checkups with Kelli Porter, she has done all exams without explaining and I felt pretty uncomfortable not knowing what was going on. She is aggressive in asking questions which left me feeling uncomfortable and it didn't feel like much of a safe space. Especially when I was coming here at age 16 or 17, I was hoping for some more comfort. I'm now 20 and continue to feel bad leaving these appointments. Today, I met with Irene Huerta and she seemed irritable with me the entire time. My hormones have been jacked up because the pharmacy I get my birth control from switched me to genetic brand. She was helpful in getting the pharmacy switched, but any time I had a question she seemed annoyed with me and was not listening when I had told her I had already tried certain skin treatments that failed to work. She was overall insensitive to my problems in my opinion. I always leave my appointments upset and uncomfortable, and that is certainly not how you should feel at a gyno appointment. I will be switching as soon as I can. read more

Avoid this place. They are a medspa masquerading as a doctors office. You will not see an actual doctor, it will be a PA or NP. I read the Yelp reviews before I made an appointment and decided to focus on the good ones. Worst. Mistake. Ever. I had what Jukes said was a minor perineal cyst procedure done in the office on a Monday. It didn't end up being minor. She couldn't remove it after cutting in to me (another doctor I went to afterwards said that she never would've gone straight to removal; she would've taken a tiny sample to figure out what it was first.) After the failed removal attempt Dr. Jukes decided to cauterize rather than stitch. I questioned her about it at the time and she told me it would be fine. It wasn't fine. Not only did she not put me on antibiotics for the original procedure, the cauterization caused a secondary wound that got infected. I had no idea that's what was happening, but when I called the office on Wednesday to say I was still bleeding and in pain, the nurse told me not to worry about it, that it would be okay. It definitely was NOT okay. I called back on Friday again and Dr. Jukes was already out of the office for the weekend. I went in to see her Nurse Practitioner, Kelli, and she was clearly rattled when she saw the situation. She asked if she could take a photo of the infected wounds WHILE I WAS IN THE STIRRUPS and text it to Dr. Jukes. At that point what choice did I have? It was the most humiliating and traumatic thing that has ever happened to me at a doctor's office. They put me on antibiotics and scheduled me to see Jukes on Monday. When she saw the secondary wound in person she tried to blame it on a medical condition I have, a theory that the second opinion doctor said was ridiculous. I was pretty much in shock when I left that Monday so I didn't confront her then. But I did write a long letter after I got a second opinion, chronicling what happened and sent it to her. She replied, acknowledged that her office had not given me the care I deserved and said she was really upset about it. Without any objection she refunded all of the money I'd paid her (only a couple hundred dollars, but still. I am guessing she kept what my insurance paid.) I terminated the relationship, even though it would take another MONTH for the secondary wound to heal (a wound that was completely unnecessary.) I fell through every crack in their office and was not once treated with care or compassion, from the doctor, the NP, or anyone on their staff-- medical or administrative. This happened in July of 2020 and it has taken me 18 months to get to the point to where I am over it enough to write about it and warn others. I should've filed a complaint with the Texas Medical Board. Even though they immediately kicked me off the portal when I told her I wouldn't be her patient anymore, I still have screenshots of all our correspondence and a detailed timeline of what happened saved to remind me never to ignore the bad reviews. If you are thinking about becoming her patient, I highly, HIGHLY suggest you pick a different doctor. Filter the Yelp reviews to read the lowest ones. It's not one or two. It's several pages. Do some people have a good experience with her? Sure. But don't assume you'll be one of the lucky ones. I wish I hadn't. read more

Worst. mistake. ever. Run away as fast as you can. Read the reviews and believe them. This clinic only wants money. I went in to "refresh" my look, thinking $500 in Botox. Unfortunately, I let my vanity take hold after Aubrey Houchin pushed me to $2100 of filler and botox. Not only did she over do it, she placed it all in the wrong places and now I look worse. I had to push to get my records, three times before I finally got them all. Then I had to push to be able to meet with the Manager. Biggest waste of time. My dermatologist noticed the mistakes the minute I walked in her office and pointed them all out to me. Aubrey says it is due to my age and my anatomy. If she knew what she was talking about then this wouldn't have happened. They will not take any blame and do not think they did anything wrong, yet two doctors and two med spa's disagree without me even saying what was done to me. And FORGET ABOUT getting a refund!! read more

I would NEVER go here again or recommend to a friend. I guess I was the rare person who had side effects and experienced terrible pain; however my calls were not returned, my side effects were dismissed and the intimate procedure I had (that was supposed to be just a stinging sensation) was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. Honestly I'd rather give birth again. As a woman entering perimenopause I was having the usual symptoms of brain fog, lack of energy and diminishing sex drive. I came into try several intimate procedures and get on testosterone pellets. I was told that they had an algorithm for putting the pellets in and trusted that it would be appropriate. After my testosterone pellet insertion I started having terrible side effects. Insomnia, raging, crying, anxiety, a month of breast tenderness, weight gain in my tummy and a non-stop period. I was on a constant roller coaster of emotions. I called in to talk about my side effects and was not called back. When I reached someone they emphatically said that it was not from the testosterone. I had my doctor measure my testosterone and it was off the chart at over 330ng/dL total and over 30ng/dL free (normal for a woman is 15-70ng/dL). I had been taking the DIM supplement but I believe the testosterone was also converting to estrogen (which they told me did not or would not happen). When I had my follow-up appointment I showed them my testosterone results and once again iterated my concerns. They basically said, "Whoops, we'll go lower next time. Nothing we can do now" They never went over potential side effects prior to my procedure and when I asked about them I was told there were none. Then during my follow-up it turns out they had forgotten to give me some paperwork. And who knows, they sometimes add estrogen to the pellets, and given their willy-nilly attitude I wouldn't be surprised if that was put in by mistake. I had my doctor call my office and she never received a call back. A week later I came in for an O-Shot. I was nervous and had called in about pre-procedures because I was never given information. During the procedure I asked the person doing the procedure about side effects and was given a very defensive answer that almost made me feel ashamed for having asked. I was told "I've done this for 20 years and never had any problems." I was told the procedure was basically painless and that I would feel some burning. They were supposed to do a nerve block. I'm not sure what happened but I don't think my nerve was blocked. It was the worst pain I've experience in my life. I was in the office shaking, crying in pain, and asking them to get it over. Afterwards I felt shamed for having such a response and felt absolutely no empathy, or had no apology for the pain. I've given birth twice and I'm telling you this was the worst pain I've ever felt. It was NOT a burning sensation. I feel that this facility is just to churn people in and out. If you have any side effects or concerns, they don't bother to answer your calls and offer no empathy, and honestly I felt gaslighted. I never heard from or saw Dr. Jukes or received any sort of note or empathy about my experience. I had several rounds of procedures left and cancelled them all. I asked for my money back for the remaining procedures and am still waiting. I'm sure I'll have to call several times. Anyway, go at your own risk. These are sensitive procedures that one does not go into lightly, so I really hope they work on their empathy, providing pre and post information at the beginning, answering questions about side effects, and calling their patients back. I was excited about this being a women-run clinic, but I'm definitely going back to my male gynecologist who actually listened to me. read more

I will start with that I like Dr Jukes and she is great, but otherwise it is not good at all. Both my daughter and myself went for our annual which would be fully covered. BUT they decided to charge my daughter for a full visit extra with the annual because she mentioned some headaches which they did not treat, give any advice for or write any prescriptions for (so, since she has no co-pay, she has to pay full out for it). She also felt the provider she saw was not very nice and helpful during the visit. I had the same thing thing happen to me with the billing. Billing is not very helpful or nice about it either. Be careful if you go for an annual and what they charge you after. read more

Unfortuneltely after a few years of subpar visits I will no longer be a patient at this office. It's extremely difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Jukes, when I have been able to it is rescheduled to a different location from the one I have booked at. I was diagnosed with PCOS while being a patient here and unfortunately the nurse practitioners I saw continually suggested the "only fix" for my symptoms would be birth control. The front desk is 50% of the time helpful 50% of the time catty and unhelpful. After being quoted that my office visit would cost $150-70 out of pocket and leaving spending $388, I received a call that I owed another $19 and furthermore another $308. After expressing my frustration the billing consultant explained the best option would be to pay another $100+ which would allow for me to not have to pay the $308 to the lab. Extremely disappointed in my experience. Truly had high hopes for my experience and this was not the case. read more

I should have listened to other reviews, this place is awful. It's run by front staff people with zero customer service skills, who are interested in making money using unfair business practices, and then will argue with you about it (Eg, charging you for an appointment that never happened). A huge problem is that the beecave and westlake offices are not coordinated and things often get missed or are not entered into their system. Forget about getting any follow up care or phone calls. I've been a customer for about 3 years and have finally had enough of the low quality care. read more

Being a travel registered nurse with 7 years of bedside experience in various settings and states, I would like to think that I have some understanding of what it means to deliver safe and competent care. That being said, I can not emphasize enough how quickly you should RUN from this office as quickly as you can. In the 3 short months I have worked with this office, they have: 1) Mistook me as another patient over the phone and falsely told me that I was in early menopause at 27 years old. After I asked them to elaborate, the woman who gave me the information said that her job was "simply to relay the information, not to explain it". After 2 1/2 hours of sheer panic, I finally got a call back to find out that I had been given another person's information! I barely received an apology for the 3 hours of my life that I lost crying over the potential that I was infertile and suffering from a newly diagnosed chronic condition. 2) Miscoded genetic blood work that I had drawn while billing my insurance. I was told by the NP before having this lab work drawn that I would not be charged and my insurance would be able to cover the lab work as my demographics qualified my lab work as "preventative" care. I have been trying to get ahold of the billing coordinator for three weeks to work this issue out along with other insurance issues and she has not only ignored my voicemail but instead continues to forward her work over to the young receptionist who, while kind, does not have the understanding to help me with fraudulent insurance information. I now owe over 5000$ in lab work that I cannot sort out because their insurance coordinator will not communicate with me or my insurance company. 3) The one procedure that I had performed there was my very first IUD placement. It was extremely painful, performed insensitively without clear communication and left me in tears. The nurse practitioner's response was "well, didn't you take a Tylenol first", which I had but still felt immense discomfort. As other reviews have mentioned on this forum, their bedside manner was cold, disconnected, and careless. They gave me a glass of water and shut the door without another word. I NEVER leave reviews but it is important to me that this practice doesn't get away with this with anyone else. DO NOT LET THE FANCY OFFICE OR NAME FOOL YOU. I would go to a community health center for my gynecological needs before I would ever step foot in this joke of a practice ever again. Yelp needs to consider making 0 stars an option for places like this. read more

In 2014, I got my IUD inserted here and I loved the woman who did it for me but she left soon after. I recently got it removed by Ginger in September this year. In a condescending tone, the first thing she asked me was "why are we removing it?" When I expressed that I want to make sure it's not the cause of my hyperthyroidism, she quickly and shortly said "it's not." But I also had other concerns and stressed about IUDs period but it was not worth my time to express them with her. During the same appointment I asked for a birth control pill and she said she will send it to my pharmacy the same day of my appointment. I needed to start the birth control that Sunday so it was critical that I get it that day. It was never sent to my pharmacy as promised. Moreover, she said she would not prescribe me a one year prescription unless I scheduled an annual exam. Sound like a scam for more $$$? I'm not a fan of this place whatsoever and I do not plan to come back! read more

Poorly managed office. If you want to go here, be prepared to be put on hold when you call and to wait for months to get in. And when you do get in (after waiting months and agreeing to whatever time slot is available) don't be surprised if you have to come back because you need some lab work they didn't tell you about last time. I've come to this office twice. Both times, my appointment started late (15 minutes and 1.5 hours, respectively). This office has a super strict late policy and requests that patients arrive 15 minutes early, so I have spent more time waiting than I have being treated. Office staff are polite but frantic. I've also been dissatisfied with the doctors here. My new OBGYN believes Dr. Brown was providing me with expensive services that I didn't need. Bedside manner was not my favorite here, and appointments were so rushed that I was not given the chance to ask questions or express my concerns. read more

Jukes M Lisa, MD PA - Nice decor and clean rooms. - Obstetricians & Gynecologists Near Me - Austin, Texas

I went for my first visit, which was my annual exam. Pretty straight forward and uneventful until after telling the NP that I was having irregular heavy periods I was told that I would need to have an ultrasound procedure to determine if I had fibroids, cysts or possibly needed an hysterectomy. WHAT? Excuse me? First I am a 48 yr old peri-menopausal woman. Pretty healthy and have NEVER had an abnormal pap or any issues with my female parts. I was a bit shocked but said ok. I then went to the front with a load of paperwork. Paid my portion of my visit because my insurance is not good. I then asked what the cost would be for the ultrasound as they do them in their office. She said cash pay would be $800! YIKES! And then proceeded to tell me that they cant tell me my exact cost until the procedure is booked. I asked why. No explanation except this is how they do things. So...I won't be able to know what the cost of this procedure I need done is until I schedule. And, this has to be done on certain days of my cycle, which isn't regular. So, I left with a little bit of doubt going through my head. Next my period came and I called to schedule. They said someone would call me back with the cost once they verify through my insurance. I waited until the day before my procedure and still no call. I then called myself, and was told they don't know yet and would call me. But, if I didn't keep the appt it would be NO PROBLEM! The day of my procedure at 7:58am i got a call from their office but i was in the shower. No message. Hmmm...this is strange. I started to get more irritated. I tried to call the office back but was put on hold so long I had to hang up and go to work. While I was holding I heard some recorded info about how they can treat fibroids and cysts in the office. Really? Now I am starting to think this is a money making thing. They tell you that you have to have an ultrasound which is done in their office and then they can treat in the office. In the past I have always gone to an imaging center to do ultrasounds. By now I am overly irritated. I received no other phone call from the office the day of my appt. I decided I was not going to give the the courtesy of going to my apt if they could not be courteous to me. I had pretty much decided my relationship with this office was over. But no, I then get a bill in the mail for $150 for a missed appt! WTF!!!! Are you people serious? I then called the office, spoke to the office manager, told her this complete story. She was somewhat apologetic but mainly defended the office. I have worked in medical offices for over 20 years and have never been treated like this!!!! Dr Jukes is a smart, kind, very good doctor that I saw for 4 years. HOWEVER, her appointment policy for her office is absurdly strict, which is why I am no longer her patient. Then a couple years later I arrived 5 minutes late for another appt (after looking for a parking space in their damn lot that is always full for a 10 minutes!) And she refused to see me, even after the nurses made me check in and give them a urine sample. I am so grateful for Ginger Bane. I have been exhausted since i had complications giving birth to my daughter 25 years ago it blew out my thyroid etc. I have seen top naturopathic and western physicians for 30 years they changed my medication and kept increasing it and every 6 months changed again because i was always exhausted and pushed myself to work and had minimal personal life. After my blood work assessment and hormone pellets i have the energy I remembered 30 years ago. I workout daily, love seeing muscle tone and feeling vibrant and juicy again. Ginger listened to me and my thyroid dosage went from 120mg daily to 75mg My house is clean, i am happy and inspired. I will admit it's a bit costly yet without energy nothing else matters so this is a priority after rent. Do yourself a favor and change your life and see Ginger. read more

What I like about a Dr is one that gets back to you when you have questions. Dr Jukes put me on Iron supplement rather than a prescription I might add. Anyhow, I had some questions about which one to take and the office staff was great about answering my emails right away and got back to me with answers within 3 hours. I think it is easy to rant and rave and we all know that no Dr or office is perfect. However, sometimes it can be a challenge to build a great team and that doesn't always reflect on the leadership. I have had great service always kind and helpful. Scheduling can be a bit hairy as in any good practice. If a doctor has a wide open schedule and an empty waiting room you may want to ask yourself why. By the way I am in my 30's not old, retired, or a stay at home mom!!! I am a huge Dr Jukes fan. I was referred through my OB-GYN several years ago. Dr Jukes on my initial visit spotted a problem on my mammogram and sent me to a specialist (stage 0 breast cancer). Several months ago she performed a da Vinci method hysterectomy and the procedure went well, blood loss minimal, recovery was rapid, scars minimal. I was happily surprised. I don't like posting reviews about people online but I've tried many times to make a complaint privately, and no one has returned my calls. After seeing nurse practitioner Candice Di Lorio, I was shocked and upset with her first opening statement to me. As soon as she enters the room, she looks at me and says, "You look thrilled to be here!" I was very startled and shocked at what she said. It was my second visit with her, I don't even know her. I'm not sure why she felt she had to upset me and get under my skin! I was just sitting there waiting patiently for her, and I never said anything to her to elicit that kind of rude remark. I just looked up at her as she entered the room and she said this rude, disrespectful comment to me. I was in a vulnerable position and she made me feel extremely uncomfortable with her remark to me. A simple, hi how are you, would have been more polite. Furthermore, it was very unprofessional of her. I will not be going back to this practice. read more

You don't ever want to give a one star review to your surgeon, but sadly, I have to. PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE SCHEDULING SURGERY (or anything) WITH DR. JUKES. There are so many issues I have with this place, I don't even know where to start. I'll get to Dr. Jukes third. First, the front desk staff is extremely rude. Like, crazy rude. Like, OMG, are you serious, rude. Second, they are one of those offices that mostly sell diet products and lifestyles (and I swear they do botox type treatments too). I would overhear privileged middle-aged women scheduling things that did not sound very OBGYNy...? This just bothers me. Third, AND MOST IMPORTANT, my second surgeon, after my he performed my second surgery, said to me, "Who did your first surgery?!" Me, "Dr. Lisa Jukes". Him, "Well, maybe she tried her best, but it was a mess in there." Yep. Verbatim. Dr. Jukes also berated me about being in my thirties and not having kids. I am not kidding. She would go on about how I should have had kids years ago. I said to her, "So, I was supposed to be an unwed mother at 20, with no money or way to care for a child?! That's better than waiting?" She had no response. Every visit she would remind me that I should have had kids younger and now I probably would get ovarian cancer. I mean seriously. Oh, this is a great story- i had an 11:30 appt and guess what?! Dr. Jukes went to lunch before seeing me. I sat in the lobby until almost 1. Then, I sat in the exam room for another 1/2 hour. I heard her come back from lunch, laughing. Why didn't I leave? Because every appointment you have there- they make you wait FOREVER. Also, Dr. Jukes LOVES to talk in clinical jargon, so you are completely lost. HEY, Dr. Jukes, I know it's a power trip thing. You are a doctor. Get over it. You have money and power. Treat your patients with respect and dignity. Oh, yeah, don't let me forget, she has her PAs do your surgery follow-up. Guess what, my PA had the wrong file and had no clue what I had done. They also gave me the wrong biopsy results. Did anyone call and tell me this. Nope. I had a random message on their portal site. Finally, I first saw Dr. Jukes in October (btw- it was like 6 weeks to get into her office for surgery- I thought maybe that was standard. It is not. My other surgeon got me into his office in a week- and turns out he is one of the best in the city). My surgery was in December. Do you know what took her two months to tell me? She had never operated on tumors my size. She told me this two days before my surgery. OH, I also forgot, and this is maybe the most important. She left tumors and endo inside me. Yep.
