Low and behold, like the sun coming up in the morning, New Life Juice Bar's sinage caught my attention! "Health is Wealth". I pulled my car over quickly and double parked it like a drunk driver trying to avoid the police. I entered the establishment and was greeted by the staff while some good ole R&B music was blaring in the background. The establishment was clean and bright. I asked one of the staff how long they've been opened in this location and I believe it has been over a year. Cool, I said to myself: I found a local spot that serves reasonably priced healthy food. Prices generally start at 6.99 and up for everything. I included a photo of their diverse menu. I ended up getting a juice made of pineapple, grapefruit, cherry and celery. Along with a hot ackee and saltfish patty! Ackee and saltfish is the Jamaican national dish prepared with ackee and salted codfish. The ackee fruit (Blighia sapida) is the national fruit of Jamaica. It was brought to the Caribbean from Ghana before 1725 as 'Ackee' or 'Aki'. Keep up the good work, y'all. I'll be back.

If you're a Vegan- these ladies will hook you up too- though these have to be ordered in a set of 3. Do ask about which veggies they use. Maybe you can select your own? Aside from the pastelitos, these ladies also offer chicken or steak sandwiches, tostones- even down to flautas. The service is friendly and welcoming and the juices? Fresh and delicious. Even with the fried foods they offer, they must have a good ventilation system in place because I didn't smell like food after I left. Lulu Juicy Fruit is simply a neighborhood favorite in these parts.

I asked the young lady what she thinks I should get and she recommended the coco crazy smoothie. She let me taste it before pouring it into a cup, in case I wanted any adjustments (which I found to be a really nice touch.) I loved the smoothie it was really good. It wasn't too sweet and you could taste all of the different components. I also got the cold and flu immunity shot. It was so cold and refreshing. It consisted of ginger, lemon, and cayenne. I definitely recommend trying both. You can create your own juices, smoothies, and salads. There are so many different flavors for patties and empanadas. I look forward to coming back and trying more things off of their menu. I would love to see some soups on the menu as well. I definitely look forward to supporting this business and I wish them the best!
