Wow, what a thrill it is to write a review about this hostel on YELP! Looks like I will be the first...in English.
For full disclosure, I stayed here in early 2009 and paid $50 for one night.
I arrived pretty late in the evening, so my first impression of the building was the clean, minimalist look of the interior. Can I say I loved it?! It was really refreshing, unlike some hostels I have stayed in that were, well, not that great.
There was always someone on duty at the front desk, which made me feel safe and check-in was a breeze. With that, the space downstairs was very open, which made socializing pretty easy.
The room I stayed in (a 4-bed female) was empty (lucky me!), and the bed was standard. The wall of the showers were a dark grey, possibly concrete, which was consistent with their simple and bold interior.
One issue I had was this was that this hostel was pretty far from the train station (HB). You would have to take a taxi or figure out public transit to get there, but it's nestled in a residential area, so might be a quieter escape to the downtown noise.
Overall, this hostel was clean and beautiful inside, and Zurich being expensive on the whole, it's an average price, and you should consider staying here. read more
