Ample parking and it's also free! The buffet style dining isn't awe inspiring by any means but it's charged by weight and modestly priced considering the location. The strawberry beer on tap was pretty darn tasty. Farm inspired knickknacks at every corner. So why not five stars? The food could maybe be a bit fresher and replenished a bit sooner. I wanted a salad but both bowls of greens were empty without an employee nearby. The sheep out back looked very dirty and in need of a shave for the warmer months. A bit understaffed on a Monday but that's not much of a surprise. It's a fun place to visit either with or without kids if you've got some free time.

The sellers were so friendly and nice and answered every question I had. From food over cosmetics to fashion: There was pretty much everything for vegans and I loved it. Similar to the eat&style you also had plenty of food free samples that are just waiting to be eaten. Also make sure to bring enough cash since you will find a lot of cool stuff. My limit was set at 40€ and I spent every cent. Most sellers do have special discount for the fair but trust me: You will spent every cent. My highlight was the 1kg bag of chia seeds and the salads from vitaquell. So far it sounds really good right? And if it was just that vegan hall I would rate it with 4 stars but since I am rating the entire Grüne Woche I need to rate it with 3. I wasn't pleased by the other halls. Seeing all these farm animals exposed as objects was in some way disgusting. When we entered the pet section it was even worse. Animals are displayed as trophy of some breeder labeled and stuffed into small cages (except the cats. Don't know I think the cat were feeling fine and just chilling). My horror were the bunnies. I mean yes they were super cute but I couldn't help thinking about how they spent an entire week 24/7 in these small cages. The most macabre part was that the flyers for the bunny stall were laid on bunny fur. Flyers for bunny breeders. On the skin of dead bunnies. Just saying. This situation was so weird and so disgusting BUT I think events like this are a great opportunity to show people and especially kids how meat and milk is produced. By seeing the animals and at some stalls also the machines people might finally stop believing that meat and milk is magically growing in the supermarkets. After leaving the farming section we entered the organic hall. And DAMN! I had some lovely wine tastings here, chit chatting with the sellers and good counselling. This is how I like it! I ended up with ordering to much wine but yolo. At the end we also visited the Russian and the Asian hall which as a bit unspectacular. Some Sellers were already packing their stall together and others were just annoyed and tired. I can't blame them but yeah... I came here for other reasons. While the strolled around I couldn't find any free samples or people who were willing to speak with me (Except one vodka seller who offered us vodka and asked for clubbing recommendations). Might be bad timing but ... yeah. Compared to eat&style this event was less cozy and friendly. The vegan hall was amazing but the other halls were super crowded and the visitors super stressed. I didn't liked the atmosphere there and next time I'll be back but only for the organic and vegan halls.

Gurne Woche is an international exposition of traditional foods, beverages and wares…read more Each country has an area they decorate and sell snacks, beer, liquor and crafts. The ICC is very large and difficult to navigate. Entry is expensive and it is very crowded with many obnoxious drunks. However the food was varied, delicious and well priced. The decorations were interesting with Morocco and Norway being highlights. There is also a large home and garden expo which didn't interest me but included elaborate flower exhibits which were beautiful. I don't exactly understand the point of Grune Woche, it was a spectacle of food and culture but it seemed quite overpriced for the opportunity to buy dinner.
