Really interesting for kids and adults but I was a little disappointed today. Because their main attraction was the Monster-Schleim but it was a small booth with just one worker and the queue was soo long I stood there for an hour and still didn't get a chance. I heard from others they've been waiting for almost 2 hours. Well we couldn't wait anymore and left. I live closeby and it is the best place for children. Indoor swimming pool will finish renovation by september. The outdoor also has a river beach. It is not natural and also small but very quite and relaxing. For the summer, I recommend the river beach and with the kids, especially during August, they set up an educational and cool event. This year the theme is year 1517 and from chess to archery and making old time jewelry to doing some field work. Children in school will not be bored. Have an extra cloth incase getting wet ( water activity sometimes but during summer, most of the time) and bringing snack and drinks for children are the must. Not only the paid attraction, they do have multiple playground at the front and also the back of the building for free, kids love them. The FEZ. The FEZ is THE answer for "What should we do with the kids today"? And in my opinion always a good choice during the winter months. The FEZ is a giant family center. FEZ stands for Freizeit- und Erholungszentrum (i.e., leisure and recreation center). It is located in Oberschöneweide (Treptow-Köpenick area) in a forest. It has a main building, where activities and events take place. It also has an indoor playground (be aware that it cost extra in addition to the cover charge). The swimming pool is also located in the main building (also extra charge) and there is a kids movie theater too. The premises also include a large outdoor area, with a cool project Haus Natur und Umwelt that provides sustainable education for kids. It also includes the famous amphitheater/open air theater where they have the popular Pipi Langstrumpf plays in the summer (supposedly the show includes a real horse). The outside area has also a man-made lake for summer days. So, as one can see this place will def. take care of any boredom. As it is located a bit far out we have only made it there once. We have been there during the Christmas time. It was quite entertaining. The price to get in was reasonable, and the Christmas market had many booths were children were able to make some Christmas decorations, candle making...In addition to that there was a Christmas music show every hour. The reason that I am not giving 5 stars is that everything in the main building or during events costs money. The cover charge was fairly low, so I did not mind but one has to pay extra for your child to play at one of the climbing gyms and other activities. Even the cloakroom costs extra. Then another reason is that the main building provides a restaurant and a kiosk where one can buy food. But the restaurant has odd hours and looks more like a canteen and the kiosk sells their muffins, pretzels and other things for absolutely ridiculous prices. But all in all, a wonderful day trip with your kids is guaranteed. Make sure you bring some beverages and some food with you. read more
