I went to them several months ago after not getting a cleaning for a few…read moreyears. my dentist retired and I wanted someone who took my insurance. they did. so began the process and could not get a cleaning for months as they said I needed all this other work first which did not make sense. they said I needed three crowns and two fillings. I have never had this much word done in my whole life and yet, maybe I needed it? I question all of it now. They did two fillings and a crown in one day and that was way too much. I was in trauma. I am 67 now and maybe that is part of it, but this was over the top awful. then I got back for a cleaning and that was fine. now another crown. here's where it gets really bad. the assistant place a temporary crown on my tooth which no dentist in site, took it off to adjust several times but complained she was afraid to make it thinner as it might break, so instead of making the fitting right she put on a crown that was too high. I did not know what it could do to me. The pain from the procedure did not go away and only got worse, enough that I thought about the ER. I finally got in for the permanent crown and told the assistant how bad the pain has been and she said, "oh yeah, a high temporary crown like that could bruise the periodontal ligament and cause that pain." She knew this and still fit me with the bad temp crown fitting? And no dentist in sight. So the dentist put on the regular gold crown and again the assistant finished the procedure cementing in and the dentist did not check final. I am still in tremendous pain, had to cancel work for several days, get a prescription for Tylenol and codeine and still cannot function. The dentist wants me on steriods for inflammation and I tell her I can't due to past health issues and she pushes for steroids. Doesn't consider infection or anything else. I finally go to another dentist for an emergency consult and he refers me to an endodontist as he thing the nerve pulp is damaged due to the situation. I went and of course this killed the nerve in my tooth and I have to get a $1900 root canal, taking antibiotics due to infection in my throat from this, and trauma to say the least. I have spoken with the office manager and the dentist won't call me back after I have been promised to hear from her. They won't take responsibility for what they did, as this should have never happened. I am not a litigious person and am considering speaking to a lawyer or going to small claims court, reporting them to the dental board as they did this to me. It was a bad fitted crown that caused this to happen. Do not go here.

I definitely understand understaffed however this was completely unprofessional. If you don't have enough employees, stop taking new patients! Water was gushing down my throat so I was having to swallow often from choking. It felt like I was going to drown like what you hear of the interrogation technique called Washboarding. I should have said something, but instead I focused on dealing with it. Afterwards, Dr. Cox stated he was glad this wasn't a major procedure because of my swallowing. I ignored his comment, but then he repeated the comment several times as though one time was not enough - trying to shame me. I had the same and other procedures performed by other dentists with absolutely no problems. Then again, their dental assistants knew how to insert water and suction the water out so the patient isn't having to be forced to swallow. I was extremely patient and calm with Dr. Cox and his assistant and caused no problems (never jerked, had to get up...); however, Dr. Cox had to make my swallowing an issue and blame me. Never once did he ask me if anything was wrong he automatically assumed it was me. Dr. Cox needs to learn professionalism and patient care as well as hiring staff who are competent.

We have had multiple problems with her not putting in correct payment information....we had a snafu with our dental ins and for some reason after five years of coverage, I wasn't covered anymore without my knowledge. She let us schedule 4 appointments for cleanings, 2 other appointments for X-rays and fillings without once mentioning that we had no insurance even though I handed her my insurance card and she ran it every time. Finally at the very end of the year, we get one huge bill for everything! Of course we were pissed! We went in and had words, but paid the bill in full. Then a few months later I get another invoice in the mail stating that it wasn't paid b/c she forgot to enter it into her computer! Seriously!!? I've never had any dental anything done (I had an exam that left me in severe pain 4 years ago and a couple wisdom teeth consultations within the last 4 years but nothing else) and I have medical PTSD which made the thought of getting it fixed terrifying. I originally was going to have my tooth repaired at the Loveland office by Dr. Gomez on March 21st but there was an issue and I had to reschedule; the soonest I could get in was April 4th at the Fort Collins office. I was really nervous about it because my spouse had a good experience in Loveland and the change in venue made my anxiety bad but I wanted to see Dr. Gomez and it was see him two weeks later in Fort Collins or wait several weeks to get in with the Loveland office. Since it's a broken tooth I decided to get in faster. Communication with the Fort Collins office from the start was much worse than I experienced with the Loveland office. There were longer delays in getting answers and questions had to be asked repeatedly, with different answers being given each time. I was told that they would have no problems prescribing me a benzo to help with my severe, crippling anxiety to help me sleep the night before and get through the procedure. Their website says they do sedation including oral sedation. April 3rd came and they hadn't called it in. I was anxious and couldn't sleep because I had this procedure looming that felt like I was going to die if I got it done because my anxiety was so out of control. They finally called around 10am on April 4th. I'm a day sleeper, they were told from the start that I 100% must have the latest possible appointment because even then I'll be getting up at least 2 hours earlier than normal to make it in time. I hadn't really been able to sleep yet. I thought maybe they were calling to tell me they finally called in the medication for my anxiety. No. They were calling because it was snowing lightly and there was barely a dusting of snow so they wanted to move appointments earlier so they could close early (this snow storm amounted in trace amounts of snow that melted by the afternoon, by the way). To say I was shocked and appalled is putting it lightly. I refused to move my appointment and hung up the phone. A short time later, I called back and asked to speak to the manager. Talked about the situation with the medication and being pressured to move my appointment to an earlier time when they know my situation. The manager honestly seemed like she couldn't have cared less about me as a person, patient, and potential income source if she had tried. I called and talked to her multiple times trying to get the medication situation sorted out so I could handle going in and eventually I found out that the doctor on duty the previous day, Dr. Kim, "never" writes any scripts for anyone unless she's personally seen the patient in question so that's why I was not given the medication I was promised. I ended up having a huge panic attack and canceled my appointment. I feel like my needs as someone with anxiety, PTSD, and an alternative sleep schedule were not valued at all and that if they're going to let a random doctor just decide not to provide enough anxiety medication to help a patient through the night before and day of a terrifying procedure then they shouldn't say they offer oral sedation. I have contacted their parent company, Smile Generation, with my complaint but it's been 3 weeks now with no response from them. I don't know if/when they will respond but there's honestly nothing that would ever make me go to the Fort Collins office for any reason after my experience there.
