She responds quickly, listens carefully, and asks thoughtful questions. With each visit, we feel increasingly known and well supported. She has excellent bedside manner and a calm, unpretentious presence. We highly recommend her. Elena & Steven

I had a very bad experience with Fiona Chung, the NP at One Medical Palo Alto. I went in for a…read morethroat check and she wanted to use a swab to get some culture tissue out from my throat for tests. But she didn't use a tongue depressor, so she made me feel like I was going to throw up several times, and because of that, she wasn't able to get the tissue she wanted and we had to repeat the procedure again and again. Then I reminded her that she should use a tongue depressor. She responded that it was going to make the process more uncomfortable and difficult... But she used it in the end upon my request. Then it really worked and she was able to get the tissue without me feeling uncomfortable. This made her speechless. On top of that, I got my test results after the visit and she didn't even write me a message telling me how to interpret the test results. I had to Google the results myself but I wasn't able to find an answer. In summary, Fiona is highly unprofessional and inexperienced. She doesn't take her job seriously enough. Please avoid her if you use this clinic.

We like our doctor. We pay super high premiums. We try to schedule minor appointments but the…read moretelephone staff is uninformed, helpless, or simply don't pick up the phone. It's infuriating to need care from a system where skilled staff can't be reached and the call centers consistently underperform. I may go back to Kaiser where nobody does their job but at least it's cheaper.

My work insurance changed and I've recently switched to Kaiser. My experience so far with Kaiser…read morehas made me realize how poorly I was served by Stanford Family Practice. First thing you need to know--it will take months--yes, literally months--to get an appointment. When I reacted in disbelief, I was told unapologetically "Stanford in a teaching facility our doctors are only in a couple of days a week". Seeing patients is not the priority of this center. Second thing to know--you will get mysteriously charged additional copays months after your appointment. It turns out that the doctors do not charge copay by appointment, but by "topic". When I questioned the additional copay, I was told I must have asked the doctor a question unrelated to what my appointment was schedule for so each additional question can be charged a separate copay. Are you kidding me? Finally, and most importantly, again Standford is a teaching hospital--if you require surgery, or treatment, I highly advise that you ask that the interns/students do not work on you. I did not, and I physically paid dearly for it!!

I am what you would call a "frequent flyer" of the doctor's office. I get sick quiet frequent,…read moreinjured a lot so I am always in the office or calling Dr. Huo's voicemail. When I have something serious she does her absolute best to fit me in or always calls me back immediately when I need help right away. My most recent problem has been that I was in a pretty bad car accident and she has been extremely helpful for me. I never feel pressured to hurry up in her office and she always hears out all of my problems. I can see her everyday of the week if I need to and If I feel I am not improving or getting worse she always encourages me to come back in. She gives me excellent follow up care and does call me just to check in and see how I am doing. When prescribing medications she does research to make sure she is giving me the best medication possible and that she is giving me the right dosage. I have been seeing Dr. Huo since I turned 18 and left the pediatrics department and Palo Alto Medical Foundation and have been really happy with the care she has given me. If she feels that the issue I am having needs more care she will always refer me to a specialist so I can get the best health care possible. I would recommend Dr. Huo to anyone look for a new family medicine doctor as I have been more than happy with the care I have received from her and love that she really makes me feel like a Very Important Patient (VIP)! I commute from San Jose and sometimes Milpitas to see her and will continue to do so!

She always takes the time to reply to all my messages, and I genuinely feel cared for every single time. She's kind, thoughtful, and incredibly detail oriented.
