We visited the Judiska Museet/Jewish Museum of Sweden during our day in Gamla Stan (Old Town), Stockholm, last week. The museum is located in a former 18th century synagogue (although there's very little left to show that it was a synagogue). The museum tells the story of Sweden's Jews, which I found very interesting. It was interactive. All signage in the museum was in Sweden and English. And the upper floor (where the sanctuary was)'s permanent exhibition on Sweden's Jews was really beautiful and thoughtful. Downstairs is a small area for temporary exhibits (when we visited, there was a great exhibit on a Swedish Jewish photographer, Anna Riwkin) and a small gift shop. Overall, I found this to be a very interesting, well organized museum on an important topic. Definitely worth a visit if you have time in Gamla Stan! read more
