This place was very special since I had my bachelorette up here. We had two ladies during our trip and they accomodated all 11 of us. We were a little late and one lady wasn't the nicest. The other lady was so sweet, she owned her own horse and was very knowledgable. I learned a lot from here. Despite the first lady not being nice, we had a lovely time. The horse were also magnificent.

Great trail ride! Took my 9 year-old grandson out for his first experience ever. So it was him (never ridden so much as a pony), my daughter (intermediate experience), and myself (old lady who rode a LOT in younger days). We were each given appropriate horses for our level of experience, and it was clear that they were all well cared for and willing. In my younger days, I led a lot of trails (so I am more informed than most). Our leader was kind, relaxed, and attentive. We had an awesome time. All the staff was careful and gentle with the horses and the people. It's not your fancy dressage type place. The saddles are western (that horn never hurts in helping newbies feel a little more secure) and the mounting block is every bit as high as it needs to be! Great family-owned place - for families. Highly recommend!

Great place. Helpful staff. Surprised my daughter with a 45 minute ride. She was greeted by 3 playful dogs who love children. While waiting for her appointment she was outside by tbe petting zoo but the dog brought her a stick to throw for them . She got ro ride Romeo who is HUGE but gentle and to see a 10 year old on riding thislarge animal is definitely a sight. Her guide was great he snapped pictures of her during the ride and sent them to me afterward. The girl who was in the office was a huge help with all the questions I had about after-school programs and tbe upcoming summer camp program. I am definitely planning on bringing her again. This was our 2nd time with the. First being September of last year. Definitely a great family run business

This was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be back! I have a lot of riding experience and brought my girlfriend who has never rode before. Even though we were on very different levels, Nicole (the manager) made the ride fun for both of us. The horses are very well-trained, and very well cared for - allowed to roam free around the 100+ acre property! The only downside to the ride is that we weren't allowed to do any galloping (but not many places in the U.S allow this either unless are parties are very experienced). However, we did trot for a short period of time. Highly recommended stables!

For my daughter's 6th birthday she wanted a pony ride. We arrived at Juckas Riding Stables and was greeted by Debbie. Debbie was absolutely amazing in getting my daughter to feel comfortable getting on the pony. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and inviting. It was truly an experience that I'm sure we will definitely do again. Thank you for adding to my daughter's special day!

We sent our two kids (7 and 12) to camp for a week after having had only minimal interaction with horses in the past (maybe a ride somewhere). They came back loving the horses and talking about their personalities and whatnot. They experienced thrills as they got to know how to communicate with the horses and they loved it. They also loved the instructors warm and caring personal approach. All in all, this was a huge hit and we've recommended it to others already.

HAD AN AMAZING TIME AT JUCKAS! Came here with a few friends for a nice birthday weekend and as soon as we got off our horses we were already planning for our next visit! The wranglers were friendly,informative and made our ride safe and enjoyabe for all! Our group ranged from experienced to total novice riders and everyone had a great time. Juckas riding stables was a really great experience. I surprised my fiancé with a riding session for her birthday (1 hour and 45 minute session). The guided tour is great because you always feel secure, but the trail is in the woods so you might have to navigate through trees at times which made it really fun. The horses were all so sweet and it was a great day. Definitely a family feel at Juckas. Would love to go back again soon!

My family and I just came back from Juckas Stables and we can't stop thinking about the amazing experience that we had here! Our horse wrangler, OnOn (I'm sure I'm not spelling that correctly,) was the best. He gave us very clear instructions on how to ride the horses and was also such a nice person to have as a leader. We are beginners and he made us feel very comfortable and safe. You can tell how much him & his team love and care for the horses. Again, I cannot said enough good things about our experience. We will for sure be back to Juckas Stables!

Amazing. I recently went on a trail ride with this stable and it was amazing. My family and I loved it!!! The tour guides were amazing. The horses were extremely well trained and the staff was so friendly and smart. I would 10/10 recommend!!!

Unfriendly and nervousness old lady. It was my first time riding horse but she is out of patient when she teach me. I can see the horse doesn't even listen to her, so from the beginning of the riding is terrible. Horse was crazy. It's not a place for beginners! read more

This is a great family owned stable. I've been riding here for many years. It's a great place to bring out of town guests. My kids have taken lessons and this past summer participated in the new horse camp they offer. The horses are well taken care of, easy to ride and the wranglers are fun and helpful...Hmm, what more can I say?? Oh...and the prices are pretty reasonable too. Have fun! read more

The lady who helped me in convinced me to go on because she knew I'd have fun and she was absolutely right. The horses were beautiful and well trained. We just finished our ride at Juckas Stables and had a great time. Ms Karen was very nice and professional and Lisa was a great guide and taught us a lot. We live in Plano TX which is all city living near Dallas but have been on horses before. It's a great place for beginners and intermediate riders or those trying it for the first time. I would highly recommend as would my wife and 16 yr old daughter. Stop by and see Ms Karen and Lisa and have a great time! read more

We specialize in trail rides including packages such as our date night trail ride package. We offer lessons for people of all ages and abilities. Pony parties and event venue for all ages. We also host winter, summer and after school children's camps. Petting zoo, hayrides, fire pits, game lawn, Tack shop and gift shop on site. Juckas Stables started in 1964 on a 30 acre rented farm and grew and grew until they now own a 117 beautiful riding stable.

Meet the Business Owner: Lori and Brian M.

Karen Juckas started this business in 1965 when she was a full time middle school teacher. She ran it with passion, caring and love until her passing in June 2020. Her daughter in law, Lori Maney and Grandson Brian Stevens, stepped in to help keep Juckas Stables running and keep Karen's legacy going. It's a family affair, and with their beloved wranglers all working to keep it being the best horseback riding stable around. We hope you'll come and join us.

I tried calling them for a reservation...for 2 days straight and no one picks up! Finally a lady picks up and told me that shes really busy during the days and mornings and that I should email her. Fine, she gave me her email address. Every time I email her, she/they replies back a week or two later. NO JOKE. Here and there she tells me what she has this available or asking questions about my boyfriend and I (height, weight and etc.) or if I can do this day or that day. Yet when I reply within that second, i won't hear back until 2 weeks later. BY THEN those days that we "settled" on already past!! Days goes by then weeks then I'm looking at months going by!! . I bought this coupon in like Aug-Sept. HOPING that i can enjoy this in the fall with my boyfriend! By November, forget it. I called the place where I bought the vouchers from to get a refund or atleast credits. Thank God!

The horseback riding experience itself was fun for us, total beginners!!! Horses were tamed and…read morethankfully, no one fell off or got injured. 1 - Reservation - Bought my voucher from Groupon. Reserving the date on the website was a breeze; however, cancelling and rebooking another date was a nightmare!!!! No one would answer the phone or email in a timely matter. We emailed them to change from Sat 10am to Sun 10am; a few days would go by before someone wrote back to say "Sun 10am is booked, what about 2pm?" I replied "OK" immediately. Then a week goes by and finally someone replied, "Sorry Sun 2pm is booked, how about another day?" By the time they replied, the slots were already booked. It was ridiculous! 2 - Day of Ride - Helen, the owner?, called us at 7am and told us that the trails were closed, because of the heavy rain the night before. I was offered to either to reschedule or ride the arena. There is no way I am going to reschedule, so we went. We arrived 45 min early just to check out the farm. There were 4-5 staff there; all young college-like ladies, plus 1-2 older women. The farm was open, with cats and chickens roaming freely around. We signed the waiver form, grabbed our helmets (gross, small and dirty!), and mounted our horses. 3 - Horseback Riding - Our horses name were Aurora, Jupiter, Levi, and Lakota. The 4 horses trotted in a line; 2 staff were walking and leading the first 2 smaller horses my daughters rode. For an hour, we rode around the outdoor arena, and up and down the driveway path twice. My 10 year old daughter said "We were not really controlling the horse that much. It was boring, because part of fun was to learn and control your own horse the way you want, but that did not happened." They did not offer any riding lessons or stories of the horses or rescue facility. No hot cocoa either.

What a blast! Researched different horse riding stables and farms online and decided on Juckas Stables based on the website, reviews, and most importantly being child friendly. Went with my wife and two daughters, ages 15 & 9. I rode a few times when I was a kid, but that was so long ago. My wife and daughters were complete beginners, and my youngest was very nervous. The staff at Juckas was fantastic! Mr Onon was very friendly when greeting us and preparing us for our ride. Our guides, and I don't have enough space to type, Nicolle & Joy, are fantastic! Nicolle was so awesome with my 9 yr old! She kept her engaged and relaxed. After a few minutes my little girl was so comfortable I would've thought she took lessons. Joy is exactly that, a "joy" to our experience. She gave us the pointers on how to mount, how to hold the reins and how to steer. The Juckas Stables staff have outstanding customer service skills. Nicolle, Joy & Onon are extremely patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Juckas Stables. My family and I will surely go back. We had a wonderful time. I promised my grand daughter and her mom a family ride with my youngest daughter. My youngest has ridden since she was 2-3 and is 21 now. I started about the same age and now have a place in a warm area with horses. The staff were fantastic,they explained as much as they could calming both my daughter n law and grand daughter.They helped them mount, how to hold the reins in a calm voice. They had so much fun. My daughter n law trotted and you had thought she had won the Kentucky derby . She and her daughter thought this was the best thing since chocolate chip cookies. The guide who's name escapes me was unbelievable.She paid attention to them answering their questions and always answered positively. Making sure everything was going as it should. The trails were great even if I got turned around. I hope I can convince my grand daughter to go to the camp next summer! My treat! If ever you wanted to go on a family ride this is the place. I have wanted to do a trail ride for years, but was apprehensive. This year, for my birthday, I decided it was time. I googled around the area and found Juckas Riding Stables. It was a great experience and I'm so glad I did it! I really appreciate their informative website, and the ability to book online (none of the other places I viewed could do this). Everything was organized and prepared. My husband and I enjoyed the 75 minute tour with our guide, Courtney. She was welcoming and very helpful. The ride itself was through the surrounding acreage, with a lot of varying terrain. My husband wanted to try trotting, and we did briefly (because I chickened out) with Courtney's guidance. I went to Juckas Stables to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday. It was her first time horseback riding. I asked that they make it special for her and boy did they. They chose a beautiful white horse called Cream. They painted Happy Birthday on the horse and braided her tail and mane and decorated it with colorful streams. Everyone wished my daughter a Happy Birthday and made her feel special. The grounds were great for beginners It was a wonderful experience and we plan to go again. read more

Great place! Quiet and hidden so kind of hard to see from the road but it made for a peaceful afternoon ride. Karen was a great instructor and made me feel comfortable on the horse. It was our (my boyfriend and I) first time riding and we would definitely go there again. The trail she took us on was beautiful, we saw deer and other wildlife. What a Great time. You can tell the horses are well taken care of and lots of room to roam. It was lovely to see a business that has been dedicated to horsemanship for 55 years still doing what they do so well. Looking forward to going again and bringing a few friends. Great experience! I have never been horse back riding before. I did the 1:1 lesson and then the 45 minute trail ride. Had an amazing time. By the end was very comfortable up on the horse. Staff was nice and friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely want to return and go on more trail rides. The horses were also nice and clean and you can see they are well taken care of. read more

My first time riding a horse!! I planned for my wife and I to ride this pass Sunday for our wedding anniversary. The staff was friendly made ke feel comfortable and snickers was the best choice he was calm and didnt need much guidance. Scenery was beautiful!! Price is reasonable! I took my daughter riding for her birthday. When I told the staff it was her birthday they went above and beyond for her. They hung a happy birthday sign and they decorated her horse!!! she had the best time! We will be going back again. I won't ever take her riding anywhere else! I definitely recommend them!
