Dr Saba's office is within a larger office building that had the interior renovated within the past several years so although the outside of the building looks out-of-date the inside looks really modern and clean. In the past I've been able to schedule appointments for the next day and have never had to wait more than a few days to come in. There is sometimes a short wait if the patient before you is running long but the staff and Dr. Saba are always courteous of your time and let you know if things are running behind. Probably my favorite thing about Dr. Saba is that she is very sensitive to how much I very clearly hate having my teeth worked on and gives me lots of breaks during the cleaning. I can also just raise my hand if I've had too much and she'll stop immediately. Although this may contribute to the appointment going longer than it should I sincerely prefer this method over the get-it-done-as-fast-as-possible-with-no-regard-for-the-patient method that my husband's dentist used. Needless to say, he will be switching over to Dr. Saba.

Specifically, here's why I'd recommend Dr. Saba: (1) zero up-sells. Dr. Saba only advises fluoride at extra cost to me, which I always opt for - no gadgets, whitening kits, fancy brushes, etc. (2) You're dealing with the dentist at least 50% of the time. A typical appointment involves Dr. Saba cleaning your teeth and evaluating them, followed by a polish performed by the hygienist. This is a huge shift from my former dentist in Pennsylvania, whose hygienists did everything and you really only saw the dentist for like 5 minutes. (3) Thorough, quality work. Dr. Saba's cleanings are thorough (trust me, if your teeth aren't a little sore the next day, they probably aren't getting that deep dentist clean), and her filling work is excellent. She did my first (and so far only) cavity, and was courteous with my needle-phobia. Dr. Saba's office is clean and tidy, and her procedural equipment is spotless with all the expected sanitary practices in place. I couldn't find dust or dirt if I tried, and I've never spent enough time in the waiting room to review the magazines since I've never had to wait. I was hesitant to write this review, only because I don't want too many new patients to make it hard for me to get an appointment :)

I got Invisalign at a different Orthodontist's office and had a terrible experience. My bite was…read moreperfect before, but Invisalign left me with only 2 teeth touching when I bit down. I explained this to the Orthodontist and was told I would need another year of Invisalign or braces to fix it. I had had Invisalign for 3 years at that time and so many things had gone wrong I just left it. They made me a retainer for the crooked bite that cracked less than a year after wearing it regularly. I came to Dr. Vareny to have a filling replaced that had cracked less than a year after it was implanted. He explained why the filling cracked and how he would change his approach to fix it. Then he noticed the other Orthodontist hadn't removed all the bonding. He removed the bonding, then corrected my bite (which the other Orthodontist never mentioned was an option), then made me a retainer that is less likely to break. TLDR: Do your research before getting your teeth corrected! I wish I had gone to Dr. Varney to begin with. He is careful, competent, and conscientious. The officer staff are extremely professional. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

You can read my review of her separately (and I stand behind every WORD I wrote in that review!). I was literally "walking out the door" in search of a new dentist, when (God bless him) Dr. Bouffard, asked if I had ever gone to Dr. Cuevas (back in 2011 she was at HQ of BFD on 10215 Fernwood RoadSuite 415 Bethesda, MD. 20817. She has since moved to BFD's satellite office at 6000 Executive Blvd. Suite 505 Rockville, Md. 20852.) I said no and I couldn't wait to get the heck away from BFD! He said, give her a try, and, since Dr. Bouffard had performed MAJOR dental surgery on me (at the infamous BFD HQ) and had done a perfect job, I decided to take him up on his advice. From that day until the present, I have seen Dr. Cuevas exclusively and can not give her enough praise! She cares for her patients, knows her biz thoroughly and knows exactly how much time each procedure will take. If you've got 2 dental problems and she doesn't have time to do both at your appointment, she will juggle her schedule to fit you in ASAP, depending, of course, upon the urgency of the needed work. The only negative thing is NOT about Dr. Cuevas, but the billing staff (BFD employs) that continues, to this day, to have problems. Dr. Cuevas is GREAT! The billing staff of her umbrella organization (BFD), not so much! For example, I won't hear anything from BFD for 6 mo. - a year, and then I will get a bill (back-dated for months!) for the FIRST TIME and it's got a LATE FEE! That's the kind of nonsense that makes me take my THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS of business and go elsewhere! If it wasn't for Dr. Cuevas, I would have left long ago! Due to HER extreme professionalism and expertise, I put up with the BFD "umbrella" organization that she works for (and their horrible billing), just so I can get her outstanding dental service! I can not recommend her highly enough! BUT...watch out for the BFD billing system: you will need to spend HOURS of your time trying to reconcile the bills they send you with what your insurance company pays them (and WHEN)! Good luck!
